Tinkerbell, I think it's awesome that you're learning how to shoot and having fun with it! Most people that have a fear of guns also lack any knowledge or experience with them. I think the Sig mosquito is a great choice and you'll be able to shoot all you want for very little $ Have fun!
-
Sorry Mark, I can't help you with that one! I don't even know how to operate a sewing machine......I sacrificed learning how to sew for learning how to shoot!!

Glad to hear that there might be some more women around here soon! MrsTungsten, come on now, quit reading over Mr.T's shoulder and join in the fun! You can learn lots of stuff on here....just look at this thread! FNandGlock, thank your wife for me too! Tell her there'll be plenty room here when she gets back and we're looking forward to meeting her! Hey, if Obama and Biden get in the white house, according to what they're telling us, she might be home before next September Nsnate, don't worry, we won't tell on you if your wife joins the group You said "Boys are easier to PT cause (this is the Arkansan in me) you just send them out side and let them try to hit targets"........that's funny, my son loves to water the flowers, so I tell him to go outside and 'water the flowers'....he likes that The other day my neighbors were walking their dogs in front of my house and he walked out onto the front porch with his pants down and 'watered the flowers' right in front of them!

I have a friend that's from Florida originally. When he lived down there, he kept getting his car stereo stolen. After about the third time, he rigged up fishing hooks on the back of the stereo head unit where you would reach up behind to pull it out. He went out to the car one day and found blood everywhere, along with pieces of flesh hanging on the fishing hooks....but the stereo was still there!!

Nice picture Angel! I bet you and XD are so proud!

Natosha, I definitely know how busy you are!! Those little guys keep you running for sure As for potty training tips.....I'm not the best person to ask! LOL Mine was 3.5 yrs. old before he finally got it! I really didn't push him at all.....I just made 'suggestions' and let him get there in his own time. He started with telling me when he went in his diaper.....when that happens, you know they're almost ready. It only took about a month after that and he was going in the potty. I heard from a bunch of people that you shouldn't push boys in particular....they say it can actually set them back instead of helping them......so I just patiently waited and one day he started using the potty and that was it....done. I still put a pull-up on him at night but that's it.

MrsS, I can sympathize with the virus and chest cold....it's made it's rounds around my family too. My sister & her family got it first...then my mom got it.....then my son and I got it.....then my in-laws got it! My mom and in-laws are still trying to kick it, but everyone else is better now thankfully. Hope you get better soon! And good luck with the boat motor too! Angel 24/7, Congrats on the promotion! I hope that along with the paperwork and being on call all the time they gave you a nice raise! I'm glad I'm not the only one with a child that was almost 4 before he was potty trained. I was starting to think I'd be buying diapers forever! This will save me an easy $100 a month, so I'm very happy!! Hustle, good luck with your kindergarten class tomorrow! I bet you'll love it! That's still a fun and innocent age.....now if it was anything past about 4th grade you'd be in trouble! My little guy will start preschool next year...I'm excited!! I'll finally have a bit of 'me' time when he's in school....I can't even remember what that's like it's been soooooo long!!!
-
Just wondering where everyone has run off too? Haven't heard from many of the 'regulars' lately.....where are you ladies?? Check in and say hello....let us know what you've been up to! As for myself, I've had a little more oppurtunity to do a bit of shooting the last month or so. I've shot my Ruger MK II, my AK-47, and my Glock 23. Now I need to do some cleaning...that's the part that I don't care for! LOL Other news.....my son is finally potty trained!! Yippeee!!! It's been about a month now and he's doing great! So come on girls, chime in and say hello!

My reaction would have most certainly been different had my 3 yr. old son and elderly mother not been with me. I really had to bite my tongue as I walked away.

My neighbor across the road has been the sporting goods dept. mgr. at the Morristown Walmart for over 10 years....I just need to start going there from now on. He's into guns and has his HCP.....and there's almost as much gunfire that comes from his place as mine!
-
It was the Walmart in Newport. The sporting goods manager there has basically always acted like a jerk, but this time was by far the worst experience I've had with him. I always summed him up as a male chauvenist pig.....but who knows, he might act that way toward everyone. I don't see how he's kept his job all these years with that attitude though. The store manager's name is Dallas McVay and I'm going to write him a letter.....probably won't do any good, but I'll do it nevertheless.....maybe the mgr. will talk to him, but I doubt it. He'll just deny that he said what he said....his word against mine. No one gives a **** anymore these days about customer service and courtesy....at least with the giant superstores like Walmart. The majority of their employees do just enough to not get fired...that's it.
-
Oh, that would be great!! I can see him now with his little apron on and a scowl on his face as I ask, "Can I have 5/8th's pound of provolone please?"
-
.....because I needed a cleaning brush for my AK. Since this is my first AK, I'm not real familiar with the 7.62x39 caliber. The sporting goods dept. mgr. was behind the counter.....and that happens to be where they moved all the gun cleaning supplies to in their new store remodel So I ask him, "What size cleaning brush will work for the 7.62x39 round?" He gives me this hateful look and with an equally hateful tone says, "We don't carry stuff for assault rifles so I have no idea." My first thought was 'well, you carry 7.62x39 ammo' (I checked when I first got my AK)......but I was with my son and mother, so I just shook my head and walked away. I checked on the net and found that a .30 cal brush will work so I went back in the same Walmart a couple days later and walked up to the same butthole and asked him for a .30 cal cleaning brush. He didn't say a word, grabbed it and threw it on the counter. What the **** is this guys problem?! He's been the sporting goods mgr. at this walmart as long as I can remember. With all the people that have SKS's and AK's, and especially since they carry the 7.62x39 ammo...why in the world would he act like this toward me? Anyway.....just venting this morning guys. It just made me mad he acted like that...and especially the comment "We don't carry stuff for assault rifles so I have no idea," really got to me. They carry the dang ammo and the cleaning brushes (even though they don't list that particular caliber). So now I'm thinking about writing my own letter to Walmart now to complain about this jerk. Whadaya think?

Excellent (and very true) points you made there Buzz! Those are exactly the things I'm afraid of if Obama gets elected. TDR, don't let Obama smooth talk you into voting for him!! Look up the real facts on both candidates and then decide who you want running our country.

I looked at the pic in your ammended first post.....I see earth tones everywhere I'm supposed to except the area where the poll choices are that you point to....that part is white for me. -

Earth tones on my three year old Dell DM051 with a Radeon X600 video card and a Dell Ultrasharp 21" LCD monitor.
