Can you help me Identify this Holster?
PackinMama replied to PackinMama's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Thank you! :) -
I got this holster a while back in a package deal with a Glock 19. I'd like to get a different back for it, but I can't for the life of me remember who the manufacturer is. Anyone know who makes this?

That thing is awesome!!! And accurate too!

One of the first things I always tell a new shooter is "The more you pull it back into your shoulder, the less you will feel and the better you will handle the kick." I also hate when experienced shooters don't explain the recoil and how to hold the gun to a novice.

Brownells shipping B/O'd AR-15 Magpuls
PackinMama replied to cannoncocker's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
FYI, I just talked to a rep at Brownells and she told me there's a shipment of Pmags due in tomorrow, and another at the end of the month. -
I am a long time Glock fan and have several, but I love my KelTec PF9. Been carrying it exclusively for over three years now. Can't beat them for less than $400 imo.

I ordered 10 non-window black Pmags on Dec. 25. So hopefully I'll see them soon. -

Would have been nice if I could have ordered two for the shipping cost. -

I ordered a box. Thanks. Total w/shipping came to just under $49. Definitely a little pricey, but it's good ammo.......plus I've pledged to only shoot what I can buy from here on out so I don't deplete my stock. -
Really makes you think hard about the price that's been paid for our freedom. Thank you for posting.

A combat cut on the N82 Tactical might be nice....but then part of the gun would be touching your body and sweat would get to it.

I got there about 20 minutes early and was pretty close to the front in the gun check line. I do wish I'd gotten to meet you and some other TGO members though! Next time I'll be sure to pm you!
-
I'm here. Line is down the stairs and into the parking lot. Gun check line is out to the handicapped parking lot. Wish I'd been as early as Lumberjack!
-
Usually by around lunchtime the line has gotten much shorter. If the line on the right is too long, go to the line on the left. The right side line is for buying tickets and the left side is for checking guns.....but what most people don't realize is that you can buy a ticket on the left side too - even if you don't have a gun to check.

Thinking about Starting up my own Members Only Shooting Range
PackinMama replied to PackinMama's topic in General Chat
There's definitely a lot to think about here and I appreciate everyone's input. I'm used to Bubbling Springs shooting range, which consists of three shooting benches and target stands out to 150 yards, unsupervised. That's kinda more what I was thinking about, except with target stands out to 200 yards. Members would mainly consist of people I know personally and on this forum. Liability is going to be my biggest obstacle I think. I had a member here pm me that is president of a shooting range and he informed me that the insurance would not be cheap. I will talk to my attorney and my insurance agent, but I'm afraid that this idea of mine is probably not going to happen based on what I've learned so far. -

If this does get further than an idea, I'd have it open 6 days a week from 9-5, and closed on Wednesdays. -

I'm not looking to make a lot of money, but I definitely wouldn't do it for free either. I do enjoy talking to like minded people, and I think it would be a lot of fun. If I make it a non-profit, could I pay myself for upkeep of the range? Absolutely would do this. I am in an unrestricted area. I only have one neighbor that I think it may upset but she's gone most of the day. I was actually thinking $200 per year. I'll have to check around and see what other places are charging. 20+ years ago, I used to pay $20 to shoot for one day at the outdoor range. If someone likes to shoot more than 10 times a year, I think $200 would be a good value. If you shoot only twice a month, that would be about $8 per range day. I agree that it would be a great experience. It's something that I've always thought about doing. I could even make a seperate pistol range over to the side of the rifle range. -
Well, I've been thinking.....and I've come up with an idea that I think would help a lot of folks out in my neck of the woods that don't have a good place to go shoot. I'd like to run it past you guys and get your thoughts, opinions, and suggestions. I have 35 acres of property here in Cocke County, about halfway between Morristown and Newport. The only place I know of to go shoot, besides here, is out in Greene County at Bubbling Springs Shooting Range in the Cherokee National Forest. That's a good drive if you live in Morristown, Jefferson City, White Pine, etc. I already have my own little range beside the house where I shoot with stands at 25, 50, 75, 100, and 125 yards. With about a half day of dozer work, I could easily get out to 175 yards, and possibly 200 with the stopping point being a natural and very high hillside. I'm thinking of doing the dozer work, putting some shooting benches in, and opening my range up to a limited number of "members only" shooters. However, I need to do a little research and get the following questions answered before I do anything: 1. What are the legal aspects and considerations of having a private members only shooting range on my property? Would having everyone sign some kind of release that says that I am not liable for any injuries or damages incurred while on my property be enough? Or would I need to purchase extra liability insurance? What if someone brought in something illegal like a stolen gun, or a full auto, etc.? 2. Would my neighbors be able to protest or take any kind of legal action against me? 3. Would the income generated from membership dues be taxable income? 4. Would I need any kind of license? 5. What would be a reasonable amount to charge for a six month or one year membership? 6. How many people do you think I should let join? I wouldn't want the range to get too crowded at once..... I was thinking 15-20 at most...... Those are the big questions that come to mind at first. I'm sure I'll think of some more as I get further along with this idea. So what do you think? I've had my own place to shoot for 20 years, so I'm not familiar with going to ranges at all and I really don't even know what it costs. Any input, ideas, suggestions, advice, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

You're welcome! I love mine....wearing it right now with a KelTec PF9. I like that it completely covers the side of the gun that is against your body. It's made of very soft suede that feels great against your skin. Also, when you sweat, it will only get the suede backside wet and will not come through to the gun. I've messed up the finish on a couple guns due to perspiration, but this holster has remedied that problem. I just wish they'd make a double clip model!
-
I don't have a Bodyguard, but I swear by Crossbreed Supertucks for all my carry guns. Crossbreed makes a smaller, single clip version called a MicroClip that would probably work perfect for your .380. I also really like the N82 Tactical holsters. They are super comfy if you are going to be wearing it against bare skin.

I was in Morristown when this happened. I was inside the UPS office on the east side of town mailing a package (to a member here actually). The UPS clerk got a phone call from his buddy that was working in the center of town and he told him that there was an explosion and everyone was outside looking around. There were four of us there at the time and none of us heard or felt it (and a couple of the bay doors were wide open too), so it must have been isolated to a small part of town.

My home insurance doesn't cover ammo at all (State Farm). Does your home policy cover ammo? That's a huge risk to take if they don't, but at least you have a fire extinguishing system. I would hope you have a darned good security system installed as well!
