Chris Johnson sux! While he's not the only reason they're losing, he is the reason they have zero running game. I'm over 300 lbs. and I can stutter step in place and then fall down. Pay Eddie George a butt load of money to come back and be better off.

Memphis: Gas Cards for Guns
hammerdrop99 replied to Lumber_Jack's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Memphis is great isn't it? A thief steals your gun, uses it to rob somebody, fences it to the crooked city government for a reward, doesn't check the serial numbers and destroys it instead of returning to the rightful owner who also provided the tax money for the reward. God bless the City of Memphis! GOOD JOB! -
How do these people become educators of our children? School asks deaf preschooler to change his sign language name By Ron Recinto | The Lookout – 4 hrs ago Three-and-a-half year old Hunter Spanjer, who is deaf, signs his name by crossing his forefinger and index finger and moving his hand up and down. To his family, friends and those who know the Signing Exact English (S.E.E.) language that the Grand Island, Neb., boy uses, that gesture uniquely means "Hunter Spanjer." But to Hunter's school district, it might mean something else. The district claims that it violates a rule that forbids anything in the school that looks like a weapon, reports KOLN-TV. And Hunter's parents claim that Grand Island Pubic Schools administrators have asked them to change their son's sign language name. "Anybody that I have talked to thinks this is absolutely ridiculous," Hunter's grandmother Janet Logue told the TV station. "This is not threatening in any way." Hunter's father Brian Spanjer said, "It's a symbol. It's an actual sign, a registered sign, through S.E.E." The family told KOLN that lawyers from the National Association of the Deaf may push for Hunter's right to sign his name at the school. Jack Sheard, Grand Island Public Schools spokesperson told KOLN, "We are working with the parents to come to the best solution we can for the child." One Grand Island resident said she disagrees with the school. "I find it very difficult to believe that the sign language that shows his name resembles a gun in any way would even enter a child's mind," Fredda Bartenbach said in the news report.

The ScanSnap is pretty fast. You load a stack into the indeed and it pulls one after the other. The items in the stack can even be various sizes.

Fujitsu ScanSnap for Mac. I have one and it works great. Walgreens uses the PC version to scan in all prescriptions.

I've found some Handis here and there, but caliber selection is slim. I was hoping to find a dealer who keeps more variety in stock or can order at a reasonable price. Willing to drive most anywhere around mid TN for a look at a prospect.
-
I've recently got a hankering for a Handi-Rifle in 357 mag. Are there any dealers in the Mid TN area that carries Handis? I've found them online at Buds, but I would rather buy from a LGS.

I carry the all steel RAMI decocker 9mm in a Crossbreed holster and love it. Proven to be very reliable and an excellent shooter. I don't think you can go wrong with the CZ.

I put a set of Williams Fire Sights on my Ruger Single Six. Easy to install and works great for my old eyes.

Watched about five minutes and couldn't change channels fast enough. Rather watch Andy Griffith or Three Stooges reruns.

We too have Brinks/ADT and it is amazing how fast you can go from sound asleep and relaxed to full awake and more tense than you have ever been. We have had a couple of false alarms due to mice in the basement. The motion sensor is mounted on a small ledge at the base of the stairs, to which I have since blocked access from Mickey and his friends. On one alarm event, I opened the basement door, shined my flashlight down the stairs and the mouse was sitting on top of the motion sensor. I was tempted to shoot him with the .357, but my wife would have never forgiven me for scaring the crap out of her.

Went shooting at Gallatin Gun Club yesterday morning. I was leaving the parking lot and two tom turkeys with 8 inch beards were casually walking down the road 50 yards from several gentlemen shooting a lot of high power rounds. Guess they feel pretty safe being under Homeland Security protection on the TVA steam plant property.

I've never had a problem getting good customer service at The Outpost Armory. Every time I have visited, multiple people have asked if they could help me even if I was just browsing. When I have asked questions, they have always answered professionally. I have purchased three firearms from them and tons of ammo. Most recent purchase was Friday, an AR. Always felt I was treated fairly.

I must say from your response that I was hasty in my judgement of your shop. You have a number of satisfied customers who have posted in this thread and you apparently are a man who does care about his customers. In hindsight, I could have been a bit more direct with your employee and avoided this whole situation. If I decide to go ahead with a purchase of an M&P 15 as opposed th an AR build, I will certainly return to you shop and talk with you.
-
It wasn't my intention to stray from the reason of my original post to get feedback from TGO members on the selection of an AR. I have received some great advice that I certainly appreciate. I have visited lots of gun stores and this was the first time I have had an experience like today. This was my first visit there and I realize anyone can have a bad day, but for the store to be empty and be ignored just stuck in my craw. I have no ill will against Lebanon Gun Shop, I just will not shop there anymore.

Thanks for the link, Garufa. I just might do that.

I was the only one in the store standing directly in front of him for over a minute looking at the gun I asked the price on while he stood there behind the counter popping bubble wrap. No can I help you, would you like to see it. I walked up to him, told him I was looking to buy an M&P 15 and asked how much was the one on display. I shouldn't have ask him to please stop popping the bubble wrap and talk to me. That's not the way to run a business that depends on sale of your product.

Well, after all the good info I went out looking for an M&P 15 this morning. Drove from Nashville to Lebanon Gun Shop and lo and behold found one hanging on the wall. Walked up to the young man behind the counter, told him I was looking to buy and asked how much. He replied $699 and went back to popping bubble wrap with his knife. Never said another word. I stood there for a good minute or two with a pocket full of money and looking at the gun on the wall across the counter until a man came in asking to see the gunsmith. The lady there replied he wasn't there, so bubble boy stopped what he was doing, walked AROUND me and across the store to look at this guys jammed 1911. I guess business is so good at Lebanon Gun Shop they can blow off $700 sales. I might have a hard time finding another M&P 15 in stock, but I will wait and sure won't purchase it in Lebanon.

Well, it looks like the concensus is the S&W M&P is the best entry level buy. I will certainly be on the lookout for one. Thanks to all who replied with info. TGO is a wonderful resource for anything firearms related.

I am considering buying an AR with my tax refund. I don't have a lot to spend, just looking to get a good deal. I live in the Nashville area and would like to buy locally. I want a basic bare bones AR that is reliable and a good shooter. I'm not a gun newbie and have considered buying a lower and doing a build, but having no experience with ARs, I think buying a basic rifle would be the way to go. Can anyone recommend some brands to check out and maybe a local gun vendor to visit.

I just read an article in the magazine from the USCCA (US Concealed Carry Assc.) that states the post office parking lot is considered part of the federal building and therefore having a firearm in your vehicle is a violation. They refer to people that were charged for doing so. I was under the assumption that as long as you don't carry in the building you are following the law. Has anyone else heard of this regulation?

Saw one come out of the brush along side I-40 just west of Stewarts Ferry Pike and walk down the side of the road last week at 2PM. Large subdivisions on either side of the interstate. They just blend in with the other stray dogs.

I agree totally. This is the same feeling I get when I fly somewhere and must submit to searches, frisking and delays at the airport. The terrorists have won. To disrupt the lives of all Americans was there goal and they have succeeded.
