  1. Well I went for it and purchased the tirant last weekend. Now Im in the process of getting my paperwork lined out. I asked the guy if it was user serviceable and he said it was. He said it comes with a tool that fits in notches on the endcap which unscrews. Im pretty excited but now the wait begins.
  2. Another question, can you break it down for cleaning?
  3. My permanent address is AR...Im here for a semester finishing my doctorate. I was concerned about that as well and called the ATF to confirm that my paperwork would NOT get declined. Thanks for the link.
  4. I agree. In fact, all the Glock hype was one of the main things that turned me off. I went to the shop and held Glock, HK, XD, and went with the M&P. I recommend visiting a shop and doing the same.
  5. I will investigate the piston you speak of. I will be purchasing from a shop in central AR where I am from.
  6. I have been debating purchasing a CM9 for a month or so. You guys may swing me to go ahead and do it....seems like that is a popular choice. Ive also looked at the 238 and it seems like a fine weapon as well but the price keeps pushing me away. I also prefer the 9mm cartridge to the .380.
  7. Check extractor tension and also make sure you take the extractor out and clean the tunnel. I use Q-tips dipped in Hoppes for this task. The extractor tunnel gets very dirty as its often overlooked for cleaning. As such, this can get dirty enough to prevent the extractor from flexing as it should to properly function.
  8. Anyone have any experience with this can? Pros? Cons? I found one for $825 and am seriously thinking about making the purchase/filling my form 4 this weekend. As a side note-Have any of you used a larger caliber can on a smaller caliber firearm? I intend to get the .45 can and use it on my 9mm as well. Thanks in advance
  9. Like 1/4" although Ive never put calipers on it to see exactly.
  10. I installed the competition APEX kit in my fullsize 9 and it made it an entirely new pistol IMO. I would like to take some pretravel out though. I also need to do some file work on that little safety feature on the trigger. Its so light that it tends to drag making it feel less smooth.

    S&W M&P

Do you find the recoil of the .40 in such a small platform to be a bit snappy? Or is it very manageable?
  12. Might I also recommend the STI Spartan. It is only a bit more expensive and comes with adj sights with FO front.
  13. Nice, I have the same in stainless. The gun is a real workhorse. Im rocking the standard sights right now but I plan on switching the front out to a Dawson precision FO in the near future.
  14. I just moved to the Memphis area from Little Rock and thought I might as well join a forum of like-minded individuals in the area. I recently shot an IDPA match at MSSA so maybe I can meet up with some of you there.
  15. You might take a look at the STI spartan as well. I just picked one up in 9mm for 618 otd. Another option that I have experience with is the Kimber custom II. It has been a fine weapon for me as well.
