  1. I think that anyone who disagrees with that statement would be suggesting infringement on your civil liberties to practice a religion. I don't think there are many folks on the opposite side of the debate that would want to force religious institutions to do anything. Remember that story about the JP who refused to issue a license to an interracial couple? He would have been fine doing so if he wasn't holding a post as a JP. I'm sure there are plenty of religious institutions out there that won't perform interracial marriages and no one cares. If gay marriage was legal I don't see how anyone could force a Church to perform a gay marriage ceremony. There isn't a precedent that I'm aware of that shows the government stepping in and forcing any religious institution to perform any ceremony in the name of civil rights. As far as "defining" marriage and gays cheapening the word "marriage" I don't see how that has any bearing on law or would even cheapen a word that is free for anyone to use. The word "marriage" isn't trademarked and as far as I'm concerned it was cheapened long before the gays wanted it. Here are some recent examples: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1673495/kim-kardashian-kris-humphries-money.jhtml -From the morally bankrupt... http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2012/07/holmes-cruise-divorce-suri-not-money-main-issue.html -...to the couch jumping cultists... http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/48177946/ns/today-today_pets_and_animals/t/dogs-get-married-record-breaking-k-wedding/ .... to the dogs... http://www.gayleslove.com/ .... to an already existing culture of gay/lesbos being wedded for convenience to circumvent the law.... http://www.divorcestatistics.info/divorce-statistics-and-divorce-rate-in-the-usa.html .... to the % of failed marriages amongst us non-sinners ... http://www.bridesagency.com/russian-mail-order-brides-prices ... and the industry of purchasing women from overseas and marrying them for sex and housecleaning. Could gays really have an impact on an institution that has historically been misused and abused? I'm married and none of the above stuff impacts my marriage in a negative way so I don't see how adding peter-puffers to the party will do any damage.
  2. I always considered her more dangerous because she's actually competent.
  3. I've had the pleasure of meeting General Boykin on several occasions and even having a long conversation regarding his own rich history in service to our country. He is a great American. However, he is not known for thinking before speaking and has a history of being controversial to a fault. I don't believe his words on the economy or the likely outcome of the devaluing of our currency holds any more weight than anyone here on this forum.
  4. I believe in the "working" man too. I work and pay taxes. That is where the local gov gets their money. If the local gov can't manage that money like big boys why should I feel guilted into paying more? It's my damn money. Every dime the gov takes from me is money that would otherwise go to my children's future. I'm not the one that mismanaged the money. It's sad that these folks are having to suffer pay cuts, but that isn't the fault of the community.
  5. Ha, yeah man, I've got a low tolerance for tough guy range talk. It's sad that tactical shooting is something I like to do now and then, but dread some of the crowd I'm sure to deal with. It was a lot easier to keep my mouth shut when it was a military environment, but at a civi event it's like nails on an effing chalkboard.
  6. A lot of people used to agree that the world was flat and Zeus controlled lightning.
  7. Came quick today, didn't it?
  8. Ha, never man. I'll disagree with you on stuff, but you're not an a$$hole. This guy here needs to strap the gloves on and go a few rounds.
  9. I don't think we'll get involved with real support. There is no outcome to this with favorable winners. I suppose the leak of this information was to boost Obama's image in the wake of all the press reports of the UN dragging their feet. Obama knows better than to have boots on the ground there. He would never risk the fallout this close to an election of US personnel being caught in that country.
  10. If only.
  11. No, but you can beat it with a dummy stick!
  12. Haha, yeah, as far as I know. It was more of an "educated guess" I would say, because if he had his pot he'd be waaaayy more mellow.
  13. 5 shillings a day, of course you have to double as a food taster... I believe my wife is trying to poison me with her cooking. We won't have guns then, duh! Of course, this gives me the opportunity to carry a sword without looking like a tool.
  14. Apparently the motivation for this was him being previously arrested for marijuana possession. What the cops didn't know was the marijuana was to treat his personality disorder that causes spontaneous rage.... ironic.
  15. Haha, well apparently his company cares about what he thinks! He's probably regretting this one, big time. One doesn't get a job as a CFO making min wage, especially for a large company that produces medical supplies. He just made the most expensive statement of his life. Maybe all that tolerance will keep him warm when they shut the power off to his house.
  16. Na, didn't you hear? We'll have a monarchy in a few years. I'm hoping that I can get Knighted!
  17. ... On another note, seems as if folks like him are popping up all over due to this non-issue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EzvL0uJ_UA http://www.examiner.com/article/vante-fires-liberal-executive-who-bullied-chick-fil-a-employee Instead of being banned from and internet forum this guy got canned from his job for attacking this poor young girl in a hate-filled tirade then posting the video to the interwebz. The tolerant folks can be sooooo intolerant, can't they?
  18. I've had the tit on two of these DPMS wrenches shear off. I use one of the cheapo $5 for the castle nut.
  19. I am none of those things Sir, and I take your accusations as a personal attack. I'm actually very open minded. So open minded that I see this debate from both sides and determined there is really no debate to be had. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It doesn't mean you have to accept it, but to be truly open minded you should "tolerate" it. I am tolerant of all opinions, even the opinion of the owner which I happen to disagree with. What I am intolerant of is folks like you that level accusations and cast stones because you simply don't agree. I have a feeling you wouldn't do that in person to anyone, because you'd be going through life getting punched in the face regularly. Since you're here spouting off at the mouth I can only assume that you haven't had the humility-inducing event of getting a good punch in the mouth. That tells me something very clearly: you are a coward. If you wouldn't be willing to say to my face what you just said here then you are, indeed, a pants wetting coward.
  20. The funny part of this story would have been to see the reaction of the officers... "WTF!!!". I guess the other part I got a chuckle out of was the officer saying that they couldn't pursue him because all their cars were wrecked. They'll charge this guy for the damage and get their money back one way or the other. At least this is Vermont, where there is no crime other than falsely labeling maple syrup.
  21. Wow, what a broad brushstroke. Look no further regarding ignorance, intolerance and bigotry than your own mirror.
  22. I'll start going to movie theaters unarmed when they start posting LEOs there at all the entrances. I don't know what makes them think that a 110 lb pimple faced ticket taker boy is gonna stop someone intent on shooting up the place. Lunacy. This kinda crap gives me satisfaction that the movie theater business is going tits up. Hopefully this is the nail in the coffin.
  23. Doesn't work that way in the Military. Retirement pay is based on your pay grade. Every year when Congress approves a 2-5% pay raise for Servicemembers it counts for retirees. So, If someone retires as an E-8 at 50% he will get half the base pay of an active E-8, not half of what he was making when he retired. This prevents them from getting screwed... unless of course they lower pay for active Servicemembers or don't give them their yearly raise to offset inflation... which is not likely to happen.
  24. Right, I agree they shouldn't have them on in the classroom. The reason I interpreted your post to suggest that kids shouldn't be allowed to have them at all was because they wouldn't be practical in and "active shooter" scenario, and not addressing the primary reasons why parents would want their kids to have a 911 capability before and after school.
  25. I've looked all over but can't find the store where they sell those hats with the brims that come out the back or the sides. Must be an online store or something.
