WOOT Grats. I have one as well, and I love it.
-
Congrats on Finding it! That's the hard part! (Got mine at a Ruger event a few months ago ... and I couldn't be happier with the purchase).
-
I purchased at Sportsman's Warehouse and they took care of shipping both times. They were very helpful and handled the situation professionally. I also decided on the NEOS because I read mostly good reviews of the weapon and the price. Bottom line, if you get a lemon, Beretta will make good on it. Mine is the plain black model as well, with a longer barrel (maybe 6", can't recall atm). And I am happy with the weapon now that it works
-
I have a NEOS, and its the second one I've owned. The first one went back to Beretta twice to fix a light firing pin strike problem. After the second time sending it back, Beretta decided to just send me a new one rather than try to fix it (again). (First time it came back from Beretta I starting having the same issue of weak firing pin strikes within the first few mags). The new NEOS they sent me has worked very well (Only a few FTF here and there with cheap ammo). I'm still lusting for a Mark III tho. I just can't justify buying a new .22 pistol at the moment since my Neos is working well.

A friend of mine just got a springfield 9mm and I shot it the other day. The point of aim seemed a little different from my glock, but once I figured that out, man it shot great. (was shooting steel not paper targets so it was kinda difficult to tell where I was missing at first).
-
Don't own one yet, but it is very very high up on my list of pistols to get. I still kick myself for getting the Beretta Neos over the MKIII. Soon enough I will have both tho

I have the FNH SLP, 8+1 semi-auto. It has had some jams with cheap birdshot ammo from walmart, but I don't think my 00 buck shot has ever jammed in it. Still I keep my glock close by which doesn't malfunction ever (yet). I shoot clays a bit at my farm so the shot gun was a good purchase and I didn't really intend it for home defense. It is a very well built weapon and the recoil seems pretty reduced compared to a Rem 870. The FNH SLP is also about $500 cheaper than the Benelli M4 (which is also a Gas operated semi-auto). Edit: another reason I went with the SLP over the M4 (other than cost) is that the SLP has the 8+1 capacity out of the box, whereas you had to add aftermarket parts to the M4 to get it up to that cap. (I believe its an import issue).

Remington's response to Walmart specific guns
JGunner replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Long Guns
I'll throw in that I own a Marlin 60W that is from walmart ... I don't know if this specific model number was sold anywhere else. (I haven't really looked honestly). I've shot the heck out of the thing and the only problem I've had is when I bent the recoil spring into a Z shape trying to put the thing back together one time. I have since ordered a new spring and the gun works great again -
I know Parkridge East (used to be East Ridge Hospital) is posted.
-
That's good to know. I had planned on purchasing at Shooter's anyway.
-
Speaking of sights, I need to get some night sights for my new Glock 26 and let them install at Shooter's Depot as well
-
I do recall the aquarium having some sort of posting last time I was there (approx 6 months ago).
-
Shooter's depot is where I got mine a few months back. I've seen one in there since then as well. I don't know if they currently have one in stock.
-
LOL ... I saw some of these done for WoW but have never seen this one ... hilarious.
-
Shooter's Depot Reloading is something I want to get into, I see it in my near future LOL.

I'm heading to the range this afternoon and I think that the Ruger will be coming with me again I'm gonna go broke buying all this .45 ACP ammo!!! I have no knowledge of the Springfield, but I know I love my Ruger and $300 would buy a lot of ammo. Also, I agree with what I_like_pie said, the 2 magazines that come with the Ruger seem to be very good quality.

Range Report: So after my problems I came home, cleaned the LCP, and I changed the 9# stock recoil spring with the 11# wolff recoil spring. I shot about 140 rounds today. I shot the PMC Bronze 90 gr round nose ammo (the same ammo that gave problems a few days ago). I shot 2 handed, right handed (main handed), and left handed (off hand). I tried on several magazines to make the gun FTF using a weak grip (1 hand). It wouldn't fail! (yay). Two things that I am going to do from now on with this pistol. 1) I am going to relube every 2 weeks or so of carry (when it hasn't been fired). 2) I am going to use the 11# wolff recoil spring set from now. Just thought I would send an update.

I agree with what you are saying, although I don't recall having any problems firing one handed with this same gun before. I will most certainly focus on my technique and report back. It is very possible that I am not holding my wrist locked as I pull the trigger. A lot can happen during the long DA trigger pull

I'm now having trouble with my LCP. Worked great for 100s of rounds, then I started getting FTF. Between live fire/ dry fire practice I had probably cycled the slide well over 1000 times, so I ordered a new 9# spring from Ruger. Problem was solved briefly, and then at today's range session I was having problems with the gun when I fired it one handed. One round in chamber, 5 in magazine. Gun goes bang, then FTF on the very next round. It did this every single magazine of PMC Round nose ammo. (This ammo has worked up until recently in the gun). The nose of the bullet is getting hung up at the bottom of the ramp. Pulling the slide back and releasing chambers the round no problem. (Also, I fired two magazines of Hornady Critical Def, and had 0 issues. The shape of the bullet nose allows it to feed more easily I believe. One magazine was fired at the beginning of the range session, the next was after several magazines of round nose were giving me issues). I did some testing and fired with a 2 handed grip, and had no problems with the PMC ammo. I honestly don't think I can grip the gun any tighter with my one hand - and I never had problems before with shooting one handed. (Maybe my technique does need some help one handed ....). (Could there be an issue with me leaving the gun loaded for a month at a time before firing it?) The one thing that is good is that I've never had any kind of malfunction with the Hornady Critical Defense, and I've probably fired close to 150 of those rounds through the gun throughout its life (almost 1 year). Long story long, I ordered some of the wolff springs a while back, and I think I'm gonna try the 11# or even 13# spring and see if that makes a difference. If not, I may have to ship it back to Ruger. I do make sure to clean the feed ramp very carefully. I'm using FP-10 oil. The gun is my primary carry so I need it to work!!! I will post back here after my next range session with the heavier spring (hopefully tomorrow - if not then def Monday). I know this is an old thread but I figured I would post here rather than open a new thread on the same topic. ZOMBIE THREAD!

I have one, and I probably have about 350 rounds through it. I've had zero issues with it. The trigger pull is really nice. The weight of the gun (being all steel) helps absorb recoil. I use the ruger mags and I have a McCormick I use with it as well. The gun is more accurate than I am. As long as I don't anticipate the recoil, and I don't jerk the trigger, the bullet goes where it should. This gun was my third 1911. I also have an old Ithaca (army issue), and a Kimber Ultra TLE II (3" barrel, aluminum frame). The Ruger SR 1911 is my favorite to shoot - which is what I got it for. I wanted a fun to shoot 1911 that didn't break the bank. (Of course, I LOVE shooting all three of them, I mean its the 1911 platform!). Now, the hard part will be finding one for sale.
-
I just ordered a G26 gen 4 from the local gun shop, I can't wait! Congrats on your new purchase!
-
A little over a year ago I had one 1911. Now I have 3 And I'm always looking for my next one. Congrats on the new purchase, its a wonderful platform (as many have already stated).

Going to the Range, what do you shoot first?
JGunner replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I generally carry a Ruger LCP with Hornady Critical Defense loaded up (1 in chamber, 5 in mag). If I plan to shoot the LCP at the range on a particular day, then I shoot that round in the chamber plus the 5 in the mag first thing. This is what I need the gun to do, to sit in my holster for an extended period of time, get drawn, and go bang. So every time I do this it makes me confident that lint hasn't clogged up my gun, and the ammo hasn't been fouled by cleaning solution. No problems as of yet. (I shoot ~6 rounds of SD ammo every month or so approximately). I also want that feeling of shooting the gun cold (like would happen in a SD situation). No warm up, just draw the gun and go bang first thing. I usually follow this up with FMJ target ammo of some type in the LCP just to continue practicing that nice long DA trigger pull. On any other given day at the range if I'm not planning to shoot the LCP, who knows what I may shoot first Could be a .22 Neos all the way up to a .45 1911 and stuff in between. -
Very nice ... Some variant of the Ruger Mark III is DEFINITELY gonna be my next .22 pistol purchase.
