  1. I believe these are the same targets that hickok45 uses on his range. I purchased 4 of the circular plates, 2 - 6", 1 - 8", and 1 - 10" . I only use them for pistols. I've heard you are supposed to keep your pistol / rifle steel separate. I hang them off of shepherd's hooks I bought at Walmart (again, a suggestion from Hickok45's YouTube videos). The targets have held up well to 9mm, .45, .380, .22, .38 sp, and .357. (I think we even shot some 10mm at them ... can't remember). I shoot them at 12+ yards, and I have been quite happy. I plan to purchase a couple of the IPSC torso size plates next time I save up for some new steel targets. I love going to the range to shoot paper targets, but there's just nothing like hearing that PING every time you score a hit. I buy cheap spray paint from walmart and paint the targets at the beginning of a range session, then flip them about midway through. (I've read that the heat from repeatedly hitting the same side can cause the target to warp, so you wanna try to wear them evenly on both sides).
  2. I'll add to this. My sister recently gave me her old iPhone 3g to replace my broken phone. When I powered it up before putting in a sim card (i.e. it had no service) it gave a message on the screen that would allow me to make an emergency call.
  3. LMAO ... My brother and I quote lines from this scene to each other all the time. Good stuff.
  4. Anyone seen Demolition man? That's clearly the solution here, we need all cars to be equipped with the magic impact absorbing foam that fills the ENTIRE car in the event of a crash.
  5. When I took my HCP course we had our weapons in the room, but all ammunition was to be placed outside the room. That was the very first thing we did as the class was beginning, per the instructor's instructions.
  6. I currently own a G34, and G26 (among others) and I have 3 G17 mags, and 3G26 mags. I plan to purchase the G17, and the G19 in the future, and to make all new mags compatible with all my 9mm Glocks, all new mag purchases for me will be 33 rnd glock mags, or G17 (17 round mags). This way no matter which 9mm glock I want/need to shoot, all my new mags will fit. I'll feel more comfortable once I have 10+ mags of the 17 round and/or 33 round variety.
  7. I"m pretty sure there is a store in Ft. Payne ... I don't know the name of it, and I've never been in. A little Googlin' should lead you there.
  8. I paid for it on Amazon, you can stream it to your PC. Amazon Instant Video. (I believe iTunes also has it). Its like $30ish for the whole season in High Def. The video player from Amazon can be a little buggy, had to reload the site occasionally.

    Gen4 G17

I have a Gen4 26 and love it. Next will be the 19, and then the 17. (I already have a Gen3 34 as well). Unless I find a really good deal on a 17, then I'll have to take it before a 19.
  10. Thanks for this. I really need to get rid of my magazine disconnect for my Mark III hunter. I've disassembled mine maybe 15 times now, and its not too much of a problem (usually), but it would be that much more convenient to not have to put the mag in and take it out at different times during the process.
  11. Poop stories always make me LOL. Its my inner kid I guess. Its also a good distraction from the work I'm trying to get done on the computer for my computer security graduate class.
  12. I bet that kinda scary sounding gun fires 38 mm special caliber magnum rounds or some such.
  13. I'm just now finishing up a Network Security course, and I can tell you all it has really opened my eyes to the ginormous number of exploits and hacks out there. Our teacher said she won't use wireless for anything important (banking, credit cards, etc ...), and for good reason. Wireless is just NOT secure. The amount of money spent each year trying to combat network vulnerabilities just goes up and up. (And I'm sure it will continue to do so for many years to come, especially with more and more devices becoming networked). I've learned that some of the most important things to do to protect yourself are 1) to always keep your operating system and software updated with patches. (This includes keeping virus definitions up to date). And 2) be aware of what you click on (kinda like being aware of your surroundings). Don't just click "yes" to every program you install on your phone or your computer. Happy surfing, and be safe y'all. (I have to get back to work on my final project for the course ... aaaaaahhhhhh so close ... almost done).
  14. I have a lot to learn. Great videos, thanks for posting.
  15. LOL ... that's a good one. I haven't heard it before.
  16. Aha, well I learned something today. It does have the gold trigger, and medallion in the stock. I can't say for sure that its walnut because I would not know the difference in wood types. I'll try to post up a pic tomorrow.
  17. They used a .45 cal 1911 on Mythbusters to light a match to show that it could be done. Took them 9 shots to finally get it, and they were using a vice to hold the gun, and laser to line up the shot. I also have a Marlin 60w (w is for walmart version). My Grandfather bought it for me several years ago. Its a fun fun gun to shoot.
  18. They've been selling it at Shooter's Depot in Chattanooga. Its been completely reliable in my G34 (fired maybe 150-200 rounds of it). As for accuracy, Its more accurate than I am, but that's not saying much ... I'm still a relatively new shooter, and I tend to jerk the trigger a little here and there, and anticipate the recoil sometimes, so YMMV. I used it at the GSSF match at the end of March at Shooter's, and scored a 494/500 ... but the course wasn't really difficult, and 4 or 5 people scored 500/500. I blame myself, not the ammo or gun. (the course was 10 shots each at 3 yd, 5, 7, 10, 15, each distance had a 15 second time limit, at a paper target). Time to get back to dry fire practice. Gotta get that consistent trigger pull.
  19. And another vote for Hornady Critical Def. It has been 100% reliable in my LCP.
  20. I had never seen the show until a few weeks ago. It was a Sunday evening. I sat down, and watched all of S1 on netflix back to back. The following Friday evening I purchased the digital copy of S2, and watched 6-7 episodes. The next morning I finished S2. I'm kinda hooked. (Ok, really really hooked. I dig this show).
  21. Congrats!!! And Welcome to the club
  22. That is awesome. Always good to hear of a gun friendly business.
  23. I carry the same burden. I'm a teacher. But hey, we all know nothing bad ever happens in a no gun school zone right?
