I urge you to become educated about HB 1375 and write your legislator to oppose it. No, this is not a bill about guns; it is a bill about paying higher rates for natural gas. Piedmont Natural Gas is asking for the right to increase its rates by 4% per year. Before returning to my home state of TN, I lived in NC for over 20 years and watched Piedmont Natural Gas raise its rates to the max every year. Piedmont Natural Gas now wants to bring that same rate structure to Tennessee. TVA is already out of control with electricity rates; we need not give another utility the ability to freely raise its rates.

FYI - if the statue is approved by the state, it must be funded by private money, not state funds.
