So i went deer hunting for the first time on Wednesday and got me a doe. Posted pics on another thread. Well there was another part to the story. When I returned to my car, this is what i found. I was hunting on a farm and parked my vehicle on the driveway outside the fence. I had laid the rifle case on top of my trunk deck. When i returned to my car, the case was laying on the ground. I thought it was kinda strange, but thought it just may have slid off. Well after further inspection, I noticed all the scratches and marks on my vehicle. The scratches are deep, down into the bare metal and there seems to be saliva smudge marks all around the scratches and roof. The glass is even scratched! The only thing I can think is that there must have been some scent in the foam of the rifle case and thats what attracted the buck. It was a rifle that i borrowed from my brother-in-law and don't know the whole history. I didn't have any scent or anything in the vehicle. I know it wasn't a cow or horse, because they were all inside the fence. I'm gonna go back and get this mofo Passenger side front panel Hood Hood Rear bumper Passenger side rear panel Driver side window Driver side front panel

I have my insurance with Statefarm. Its nice to deal with an agent.
-
First time out this morning and just landed me a doe. Pictures to come Two other ones were too small and even though try we're handing out after the shot, i decided to pass on them.
-
how soon after the kill do you have to field dress it?
-
The total insurance value right? Not your premium..
-
First I want to put a disclaimer out there that I am not selling insurance or an agent. I recently got insurance coverage for my firearms and accessories as my collection is slowly building. Some of you may not be aware that your basic renters or homeowners policy may not fully cover items such as your firearms, jewelry and other valuables. I would recommend talking to your agent and seeig if you are adequately covered. This time of the year they have seen an increase in claims from burglary and theft and many people have been found out the hard way that their items were not fully covered. For example my brother's home was recently broken into while out of town and they found out they most of te jewelry was not covered under ther basic policy. Adding a personal article policy and cover those valuables for a very small premium ( depending the value of items). Def something to consider as you guys grow your collection. Rember gun safes are not going to keep a determined person out. It will just delay them some.

The black LWRC with the Magwell grip isbTeds. I personally don't need or like them as I hold onto the rail.

Looking for a processor near Nashville for WHEN get my deer I would like to do some summer sausage, and jerky as well. Much appreciated.

Ya, generally, if you go on a saturday on a nice day, it will be pretty busy. The best times to go is during the week and even when it not sunny and warm. I do worry sometimes about range safety. Especially when its crowded.
-
Congrats on a good day. Im planning on going on wed morning. Pretty excited.
-
this is my first piston AR and I am impressed with how clean the rifle runs. I like the rail on the SPR the best

Took my new LWRC SPR out and my brother in laws Mossberg 1500 out to get it sighted in. Ted brought his LWRC M6A3 as well. The 7mm mag kicks like a mule... Shoulder is recovering.
It's on the light side, but if you put it in the heart or lungs, it'll certainly do the trick! Probably not a guaranteed dead-on-the-spot round, but with 4 holes in the lungs, most deer ain't going far.
ya, i'll have to see what I can borrow.
-
what do you think about 5.56 for deer hunting?
-
i know nothing about deer hunting. All i know is that they taste great and i would like to get a couple deer to fill a freezer. My brother in law has a little bit of land where he said i could hunt. I know you have to have a license and looked at the TWRA website and saw the info about limits and all. I don't want to invest in a lot of money in equipment and camo, and stands. What the best way to go about this. Also i don't know how to field dress a deer so I'm a little worry about what I do after it shoot one.

Just want to make sure before I make the trip
Long guns must go through a FFL if out of state. handguns must be transferred in state.
So as long as they are a FFL I can buy a rifle out of state. May be trecking up to Owensboro to buy a LWRC -
I can buy a rifle out of state. Just not handguns right?
With firsthand experience, I can say they are phenomenal rifles. You should check out Whittaker Guns in Owensboro. They have the same rifle, with a Geissele trigger, for $2369. I was there yesterday and the had 5 LWRC SPR’s: 2 black and 1 OD with 14.7 inch barrels and 2 with 16 inch barrels, one OD and one black. Whittaker is great to deal with. Plus sales tax in KY is only 6% if you decide to make the drive. http://www.whittakerguns.com/ Also, Guns & Leather is an LWRC dealer and they have good prices, but I don’t know if they have any SPR’s in stock.
Ya i was at G&L on friday and they had one SPR. It was the 16" black base model. they were selling it for 1950. If it was a 14.7" i probably would have bought it on the spot and just upgraded the furniture myself.
Yeah, because a vast majority of politicians aren't white.
Ya, but what percent of population are politicians. I just think that he didn't appeal to the minority and younger group like Obama did. The voting population has changed and more hispanic and younger generations are voting. I wonder what would have happened if Romney was black.
