  1. Only Taurus I've owned was a revolver. I liked it. They did have problems with the pins breaking at one time, but fixed that problem from what I hear.
  2. Marswolf

    just had a thought

Beat me to it Dotsun.... Great site.
  3. I'm a Methodist. I think we should play cards and dance in the church.
  4. Main problem with the digital scale is that they are so accurate that even the air flow from the heating/cooling system will make them fluctuate. Not dangerous, but disconcerting.
  5. I owned one of those for a couple of weeks.
  6. You can carry in/on government property if it's state or county owned - unless it's posted. Actually, you can carry in a courtroom as long as judicial proceedings are not in progress. TCA 39-17-1306. What is tricky is that you are prohibited from carrying any weapon prohibited by § 39-17-1302(a) during those proceedings. 39-17-1302(a) is that list of weapons that you can't carry in a park. It does not include handguns.
  7. Got my super secret sign-up email, so I can now log in - and immediately change my password.
  8. Tricky thing about law. You have to read the whole statute.
  9. I guess it works like a cast iron skillet. I was going to suggest Eezox.
  10. Joel, my account is still pending too (I guess). I guess they will get around to it in time.
  11. Maybe I can get a friend to come sometime. He carries a G23 professionally and is absolutely deadly with it. But he also has some sense and doesn't shoot reloads. Maybe he'd bring his MP5 and suppressed Ruger too.
  12. Very true Todd. But such scenarios tend to affect professionals more than the normal protective handgun carriers we see with carry permits. The number of hand injuries among high profile LE who use lights on their duty guns is a lot higher than most people think. Ability to use the weak hand and a functioning backup gun becomes very important. It's one reason I carry my tac-light off of the handgun these days. So, I'm by no means disagreeing with you, just doing a bit more explaining.
  13. You could be right.
  14. Kurt Waldheim is pretty much already in Tupperware. I'm waiting for Ahhhnald to run for President.
  15. Yeah, a BUG is just that - a backup in case the main gun doesn't work properly or can't be used for whatever reason.
  16. I love Austrian meatballs packed in Tupperware.
  17. Claymores OK? Not the swords...the other kind.
  18. What Phantom said. I wasn't going to bring up the while dining thingy, but...what Phantom said.
  19. Gee, it sounds like we have no logical people here on this board. I'm afraid that's damn close to being true.
  20. Looks nice. What are you doing to reduce the rusting potential in the slide?
  21. This is nonsense. Pure nonsense. Debating the pluses and minuses of different guns is part of a gun board. Each gun has both pluses and minuses. "I think this gun is ugly" is an opinion. "This weapon is unsafe because..." is a conclusion that should be voiced. Feel free to disagree with other members, including me, and explain why. But don't expect other members, including me, to shut up because they challenge your choices. Sorry, ain't gonna happen. Get used to it.
  22. Tennessee permit holders may now carry in West Virginia.
  23. Glad to see someone pick up the cause. I just signed up.
  24. I don't think so guys. If you are off duty, you are not discharging your official duty. Your department can't give you special permission to ignore state code by redefining your job while they aren't paying you. It is saying that an officer may carry into a place that serves alcohol, if he is there actually discharging his official duties. If he is not there for an official purpose, he may not carry there - open or concealed. There are people who are always on duty. Constables for example. But if you are sometimes on duty and sometimes off duty, I think the intention of the legislature was to say that you could only legally carry in an alcohol serving restaurant while on duty and actually discharging your official duties. The solution, of course, is to let all of us pack in these restaurants at any time. I wish they would write laws so they are understandable.
