  1. Unfortunately, nothing happens when I click on it. I'll try IE. Thanks for the link location. [edit[ IE opened the window. No pictures of the XD-M without the grip safety.
  2. I think this topic is done. Question has been answered.
  3. Guys, what is going on here? One picture looks like a bulked up XD, with grip safety. Another picture looks like an M&P with no grip safety. Springfield has nothing on the website about it. Isn't April Fool over?
  4. Well, no - you obviously shouldn't coat the piston or inside the chamber in which it rides, any more than you would coat the inside of the barrel. But I'm a bit baffled by the other thoughts. The P7 has a fixed barrel relative to the frame. You also wouldn't coat the channels that the slide moves on. I have an engineering degree. This sounds like an extremely reliable, if expensive, way to design and build a handgun. Only thing I've ever considered in terms of reliability is whether the piston pivot could handle the stress. Guess we should make a P7 topic if we want to continue this.
  5. That reminds me. Who's bringing the snakes?
  6. Diver weights aren't pure lead, are they Tower? Since my balls have to flair.....they have to be made of pure lead. I'll check a couple of plumbing supplies I used to buy at.
  7. Cabellas has the Big Dot Target Hiding sight.. All the Mall Ninja reviews like it. People wanting to see a target past 20 feet don't. So, if you want a sight to acquire a target at a distance where you shouldn't need a sight, it looks very tacti-cool. And it does make a nice night light. Very handy for all "operators" in training.
  8. I've never heard of the P7 being pickey. I would think with the piston retarding movement of the slide, it would be very unpickey, unless you mess up the piston assembly or the tube it runs in.
  9. I'll see if I can find the bullet molding stuff for my .575 Minié balls. Hope I still have some lead.
  10. But the Tennessee form is not a 4473, although the questions are similar. I've done a lot of travel and find that many places (I'd say most) do make some effort to communicate in English and other foreign languages. I'm afraid old Claude Pepper was never able to make English the official language of the USA, although it is the de facto standard. And I will argue that for technical reasons, English and German are much better scientific and engineering languages than Spanish, which is a good economic reason to become proficient in English. But will also argue that anyone, speaking any language, has a right to defend himself wherever he is in the world. If a permit encumbers that, then the permit should go.
  11. We were given a copy of the application at the class, as I recall. Back then it could take weeks just to get an appointment for fingerprinting, so I was in no hurry to fill it out. And I can see why someone at the license office couldn't help you fill it out. Only thing I really remember were instructions - several times - that you can not sign the thing except before them in person when you pay them.
  12. I don't recall filling out the application immediately after the class. I don't recall it saying someone else couldn't help.
  13. There is no joy in Mudville....
  14. Well, blind is not blind....
  15. Wal-Mart has it's own language? Just what I was thinking. I'll bet lots of legally blind folks can see well enough to protect themselves from thugs at 5-12 feet.
  16. Nope, ABC starts their coverage 09/06/08. http://www.nascar.com/races/cup/2008/data/schedule.html
  17. Significant tacti-nuttiness?
  18. I'd like to broaden this a bit, but think I'll start another topic to do it when I have a little more time. Meanwhile, there is a Multiple Code Search Service online for: Brentwood Bristol Clarksville Farragut Gallatin Germantown Kingsport Knox County Knoxville Metro Government of Nashville and Davidson County Shelby County

    Snake!!!!

I thought we were talking about all snakes, not just the poisonous ones. No, even for me, if it has fangs, it is gone to snakey heaven. Your kids will probably grow up to be herpetologists.
  20. The France family has to be paid and we do get to see the most of the race. What bugs me it to go to a football game and watch the players just stand around for a few minutes while the commercials run.. I don't know if ABC has any of the races this year or not. They do this split screen thing where the commercials run in one box and the race in another. Also no one says boogedy and Mikey.
  21. Mine was a tack-driver at 100 yards.
  22. GCA of 1968 § 922. Unlawful acts (k) It shall be unlawful for any person knowingly to transport, ship, or receive, in interstate or foreign commerce, any firearm which has had the importer's or manufacturer's serial number removed, obliterated, or altered or to possess or receive any firearm which has had the importer's or manufacturer's serial number removed, obliterated, or altered and has, at any time, been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce. I don't think you actually removed, altered or obliterated the sn but the BATFE might argue that the intention of the law is to make the weapon easily identifiable. They may claim that you erased it by covering it up. I suspect they would argue that.
  23. I had one of those in 9mm. Very accurate. I sold it to a friend when I thought I was getting a new trunk gun. Unfortunately the importer never got around to bringing them in the country. My friend somehow hot the tip of one finger removed by said gun. He didn't shoot it off, but I have never figured out where he got his finger positioned or how it happened. I may get another one.

    Snake!!!!

Unfortunately, if the snake isn't in your back yard, he can't eat the rodents in your back yard.
  25. Well, another interesting ending. Everyone seems to be making nice this morning. Yeah, DW's boogedy thing makes me want to drag my fingernails down a chalk board. And Mikey hasn't done much for years. Digger needs to be buried and if I hear that they are Claratin clear to race one more time.... But then I remember that there is a race and ignore the silly distractions. So, turn up the volume and let's rev it up one more time!
