  1. I love my dogs. They are property, but if you harm one...they are family...and you will probably never be found - proof or not. For that matter, if you steal my lawnmower, they won't find your body - but there will be a lot less pain than if you hurt one of my dogs.
  2. Was he attempting the Dirty Harry look?
  3. About the only thing I know about motorcycles is when a buddy tells me whatever he has is really the bestest super bike out and to to get on and see if I survive. By the end of the run, I'll know the top speed (GPS verified, not speedometer). I know motorcycles are too expensive. Too many other toys out there to buy for that same money. Then again, I do have friends who will loan bikes to me. If you have a Harley, don't bother to contact me.
  4. Damn, you have gone to the dark (striker fired) side.
  5. No, who would want to steal a handgun like that?
  6. We are getting back some good reports on the LCP. If I didn't have a P3AT, I'd consider it, even at the slightly larger size. The price sounds fair. I paid a bit less for the P3AT. But that was some time ago. I'll have to research prices. In all, the Ruger is sounding like a good handgun. I would still like to hear that they are paying royalties to Kel-Tec.
  7. No kidding, I did once tell the owner of some dogs that were knocking over my garbage cans that I was putting out poison for the rats and hoped his dogs wouldn't get into it. Problem solved.
  8. Congratulations on the win. I suspect a suit would be for principle only. I wouldn't count on collecting even if you win.
  9. Sounds like a good guy - for a Democrat.... I'd do a been west joke, but I'm sure he's heard them all. Someone be sure to ask him what he recommends to get rid of Naifeh. Good thing you meet at Shoney's in your area. Around here the fat women will fight to make sure they get all of the food on the buffet.
  10. You have to sedate them first. Rat killer works pretty well.
  11. Maybe Rhea County has a private act. Municipalities can restrict more than dogs, but counties generally can not without the passage of a private act. Then again, maybe the judge just "forgot" about that since the cats were damaging your property. I suspect he just thought you were justified and that was that. Case dismissed.
  12. Hi, from Blountville.
  13. The Tennessee leash law applies to dogs but not cats. 44-8-408. 14. If anyone wants to do a pre-meet before the meet in the Gray/Kingsport area before the real shoot in the Gray or Kingsport area (of or course Blountville) let me know. I'm big on lunch, but supper can work to. Please PM me.
  15. In all honesty, I haven't read all the replies above. But I do know weapons from a professional aspect. I've had Glocks, including the G23. I no longer own any of them. I do have both a USP 40 and a P7M8. I consider them professional handguns, unlike some I can mention. So, what you might buy depends on your view of the weapons you need. I can say that about the only criticism I hear of H&K is their price. That should tell you a lot.
  16. You can probably store more in the can if it is stacked. But no one (especially me) does that, if it it isn't in boxes. Bags are fine, but take space. I generally stack the boxes and then pour in the loose stuff.
  17. At close range. At longer ranges, you are more likely to hit them with a 9mm and you have more distance, before you have to shoot them again, for them to bleed out.
  18. Actually, Len, I agree with you. People sometimes complicate things that should be simple. This is not house clearing, in which such techniques are very useful to know. This is being trapped in your bedroom and needing to not kill anyone but the guys who need killing. As I think a lot of folks here know, I teach military house clearing techniques to LE when requested.
  19. To me, you pick the best caliber for the job and the best gun you can afford. 9mm is an excellent and accurate round either close up, but especially at distance. For close up, bigger is better. Since I don't think slower is better, I don't pack a 45 ACP, but instead a 40 S&W.
  20. Here are instructions from the March gathering: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showpost.php?p=73999&postcount=57
  21. And it will come in two versions. one that has a grip safety and one that doesn't?
  22. Yeah, I think we established that. What do you use to kill them?
  23. In my earlier years, between military type stuff, I worked for a couple of engineering companies. Background is as an EE, but I think more like an ME. Then again, I also think like a Psychologist and a Philosopher. In short, I don't know what I want to do if I ever grow up.
  24. That's why I like laser sights. If you hang a mirror in your home, you can easily aim at the image of the intruder and not expose yourself to gunfire.
  25. Thanks for clearing that up, Tungsten.
