Yeah, I've talked my way out of a lot of situations. No reason to draw a weapon unless you have to. I guess everyone is different about what bothers them from a gunfight or combat. I don't think shooting someone who was trying to shoot me has ever bothered me, but some of my buddies not coming home certainly has.

I was over at the track a couple of hours ago. Very few campers are left there. I learned the hard way to never go near the 4-lane at Blountville early the Monday after a race. They had a wreck on I-81 yesterday. 4 cars crunched each other and stopped traffic in bout south and north lanes. I have no idea why that happened.

Jamie, I can't agree with you. I think you are thinking about the standards for driving a vehicle. 55-10-401. Driving under the influence of intoxicant, drug or drug producing stimulant prohibited — Alcohol concentration in blood or breath. — (a) It is unlawful for any person to drive or to be in physical control of any automobile or other motor driven vehicle on any of the public roads and highways of the state, or on any streets or alleys, or while on the premises of any shopping center, trailer park or any apartment house complex, or any other premises which is generally frequented by the public at large, while: (1) Under the influence of any intoxicant, marijuana, narcotic drug, or drug producing stimulating effects on the central nervous system; or (2) The alcohol concentration in such person's blood or breath is eight-hundredths of one percent (.08 %) or more. Note that you can not operate a motor driven vehicle if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol if you BAC is .08 or greater. The law makes a distinction between alcohol and other drugs. But for carrying a gun there is no such distinction. The way the law is written, it appears that you can not be under any influence of alcohol of other controlled substance. Not up to .08 or even .0000001. You just can't be under the influence - at all. The rules are different for driving a vehicle and packing a gun. 39-17-1321. Possession of handgun while under influence — Penalty. — (a) Notwithstanding whether a person has a permit issued pursuant to § 39-17-1315 or § 39-17-1351, it is an offense for a person to possess a handgun while under the influence of alcohol or any controlled substance. ( A violation of this section is a Class A misdemeanor.

I think we are getting a lot of confusion here. Basically, you can sell a firearm to another resident of your state without going through a transfer agent if you choose to do so. You may personally buy and take possession of a rifle, but not a handgun, out of state but you have to go through an FFL to do it. If I go into Virginia and buy a rifle, they can do the paperwork for me there and give me the rifle. If I buy a pistol, it has to be sent to a transfer agent in Tennessee and the paperwork done here. If you sell a firearm (rifle or handgun) to someone out of state you must go through a transfer agent in their state. None of this applies to black powder weapons, as I understand it. Shotguns too, I think.

Getting to know each other: What do you look like?
Marswolf replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
That's one nice picture. -
I don't see a gray area. Handguns are not listed. I think the AG is a dunce.

Finally got to use that.

I think I took a picture of the blimp. For $5 I might even post it.

Yeah...right.

My guess is McDonald's.

Folks, ammo is largely going up because the dollar is going down. Get used to it until the economy changes.

Oh yeah, the Secret Gray Box O' Trading Truth. They all got bargains. I got cash so I can buy more beer. Well, the salary does help..... The rain event only helped the spirits. I lie. We got cold. But warmed back up again. There really was esprit de corps, partially due to the rain. We became buddies. I'D GO ANYWHERE WITH THESE GUYS. Well, at least I'd go to a Mexican restaurant with them. Cody, I think you were just afraid to meet me. JUST KIDDING! We did talk about starting a topic..."Marswolf hates you because.....".

Race will start soon. I'd probably have to go with Edwards, followed by Junior. At any rate, I'm about four miles, and two ridges, from the track. If I step out on my porch, I can hear them. I'm watching on TV. I don't want to take a couple of hours to get home. Went to a race there in 1967. That's often enough. Around here, you have to know the back roads to move at all on Monday morning as all the campers tries to escape.

We had a select, I might even call it elite, group (not may people showed up). Here's how it looked. All photos are before the rain break.

Back to Oak Ridge on April 19?

I have a few pictures. I repeat - few. As soon as I get around to unpacking the car, I'll post them. We spent much of the day beating up guns with a hammer. Probably shouldn't say more. Reconfirmed that American Ammunition, the really inexpensive stuff out of Miami, is crap. Also that some guns, even expensive ones, still don't like Wolf ammo. We confirmed some bullet speeds with my Chrony. Found out that Mikes BP revolver can produce speeds in excess of 2000 fps. But that may just be some of the smoke particles rather than the bullet. I brought a machine gun, but it only produced a projectile speed of around 150 fps. It is an Airsoft btw. We also found out that a WWI 38 S&W with about a 30 pound trigger pull can still hit the target. Yes, we did have military rocket launchers You can guess who brought those. Unfortunately, we were lacking in projectiles for them. One local guy who I know came with a decent gun. He brought his H&K USP 40c. He's already a lurker on the board. Hopefully he will register soon. Mike's EZup shelter came in handy for a while but the beginning and end of the day was dry. We also found out that water runs downhill.

I wonder how many babies you have to render to get a bottle of baby oil.

Bring it angs.

Let me throw in a few: Otis Eezox Strike Hold

Sounds like it should be a good day. Temperatures are right and they are calling for cloudy with "occasional" showers. I threw in what targets I have. Bet I find a bunch more. If you don't have them, don't sweat it. We can always use Cody.

Hey Mike, should I throw in the BP rifle?

You have to send it through a transfer agent (FFL) in his state. His agent will have to send you a copy of his FFL and you sent the gun to him by overnight UPS or an air carrier. UPS is frequently a hassle if you aren't a dealer. If you have a friendly gun dealer, you might want him to send it.
