  1.   Yes, I see the similarity. And I bet that G26 is way more popular................................and cheaper(less expensive).
  2. I can live with that!   "And you won't have any trouble out of wildlife officers if your being threatened."   I think that was George Zimmermans position.
  3. Thanks for help in viewing. I can't watch these type shows but that 5 mins. was pretty entertaining.
  4. Hence to reason I gotta put one in my hand. Might work, might not. Not really a direct competitor to the Kahr PM/CM. And not being overly popular, probably can't find a "deal" on one.
  5. Thanks for the info. I read that as well and thought that Gun will have appeal for several 229 owners.
  6.   I had a Wilson(?) Barrel Weight(SS) that slides over the bottom lug under the barrel. You could shoot your "Cannon Loads" then! Had to file small flat spot on Gun to keep Weight in place. Better than letting two set screws "walk" back up the barrel.
  7. I had trouble with the link.
  8. Based on Specs the Sig P224 might be my re-entry into 9mm ownership. Would like to wrap my hand around one first. Anyone in the Middle Tenn. area with said Firearm or anyone noticed one at a shop? Any negative experience/feedback?
  9. IMI Baby Eagle(.40 Cal), Fn GP Comp(Target/Competition Hi-Power), Colt series 80 Officers Model 1911 Compact(.45 ACP). All with after-market grips. Common denominator; natural point and accuracy
  10. No over-thinking on this one!
  11. It occurs to me, as well it might to the Original Poster; ask 60 Gun Aficionados a question, get 60 different answers!
  12.   I'm just gonna havta go ahead and disagree with that notion. Many wounded predators wouldn't even slow down when in attack mode without heart, lung or brain being damaged.  Bear Spray is light and easy to carry. And effective on most critters I suspect. And a heck of a lot easier to hit a charging target! And less likely to get you in trouble with Wildlife Officials and the general public. I'd carry a Handgun in addition, but it wouldn't be the first thing I'd reach for if I saw a Bear.
  13.   Well, I'll agree with that. Where I can't agree; first-time buyers/users should NOT be sold something they can't use.
  14.   Agreed. And it doesn't come naturally for most during their first experience with a handgun.
  15. You'd think the .45 LC would be offered for Cowboy Action Sports.
  16.   Smooth! I have 4.7L And a BC Miroku.
  17. Off-hand, I'd say WW-231 addresses your first question for a fast burning powder.  But I would agree with previous posts that Unique serves a lot of requirements. My experiments with Green Dot left a lot of smoke in the air.
  18. Thanks. I was reading that Powder Coating thread. Interesting, but I wouldn't want to do it all the time since I don't cast my own. I bought these some 30 years ago from a fellow in Harrodsburg KY. Precision Cast Bullets is what's on the label. 146 gr. WC to be precise. I may run some thru a cheap Taurus snub just to see bore results. I know I bought 44s and 45s from the guy and they were lubed and the 265 gr 44s had a gas check.
  19. Many years ago I had a lever action Rossi. After 2 separate incidents of split cases I decided pushing the pressure limits on a 357 case was both time consuming and costly in the instance where I had to get a Gunsmith to remove the front half of one case. I didn't notice the half-case ejection and tried to chamber another round. Irritating!  Unique and AA#5 have been my preference for both 38 and 357 cartridges. Blue Dot puts out more smoke. But the 357 is quite effective on Groundhogs in both Rifle and Handgun loads. 125 gr. HP preferred.  Personally, I would not deer hunt with a 357 with any bullet configuration. .41 Mag is the minimum certainly for hogs.
  20. I bought some .358 dia. 148 gr. unlubed lead back in my less experienced days(30 years ago). Any suggestions on lubing these now?  Looks to be about 250 in box. Should probably sell them since it's unlikely I'll need them in my lifetime.
  21. Both my Sierra Reloading Manuals(70s and 80s) address the POSSIBLE issues of substitution. And we all know they err on the very cautious side. I remember substituting many years ago and finding the SRPs harder to seat with Lee Hand Primer. Don't remember what cartridge I was playing with.
  22. From left to right; $6 UltraFire, $12 Nebo 5077, $20 Streamlight Stylus Pro, $35 Streamlight TwinTask 3AA, $45 Icon Rogue, $41 OLIGHT I6 Paladin, and Lithium-ion power Hitachi.
  23.   Olight I6 Paladin......420 lumen output.      $41 on Amazon. And I can attest, it is BRIGHT!  Honestly it may be too bright for some night use. It destroys your night vision and leaves spots for several seconds in some instances. I don't use it walking thru the house because the reflection off glass or plastic is too much.
  24. Noticed that too.  1500 mah(?)  might be part of the problem.
  25.   I bought this same UltraFire "Cree" Q5 from Amazon.  Worth $6 as a throw-away glove-box/travel-light. Glad I didn't pay more. Only one mode and just average lumens. Comfortable fit in my hand.
