  1. Anybody who has been around this game any length of time has already heard this advice repeatedly. If they didn't heed it before, they're not going to now. People have short memories ...

  3. This should be required reading ...
  4. Conventional wisdom is that higher taxes are probably on the horizon, but due to the virus and the overall state of the economy probably won't be enacted this year. Similarly, more government spending is almost certain, likely a mix of stimulus and infrastructure spending which should help boost the short term prospects for the economy as a whole. Most asset classes are overpriced, and more volatility in prices is to be expected, but typically bull markets go through a prolonged period of "melt ups" before coming to a close. Personally, I doubt we'll see the massive rises in tech prices this year as we had in 2020, mostly due to increased efforts for Congressional oversight and possible new regulations including anti-trust suits, so that's an area ripe for a fall. As always, stock and asset picking will remain roughly akin to astrology, palm reading and coin flips in terms of accuracy, as you can always expect the unexpected to occur ...

  7. If you choose to participate in riots, mayhem, and forced entry, these are the risks you face. Personal responsibility entails making rational decisions and choosing your actions wisely. This woman didn't do that ...
  8. I don't know about laundering, but they're an excellent way to rid oneself of extra disposable income ...
  9. Same here, in both cases. However, I do try to resist the urge to stuff myself into vests, armor, and camo that's 2 sizes too small. That seems to be required dress at all these marches, rallies and such ...
  10. That was my first thought when reading the original post just now ...
  11. No, there's plenty of idiots who just can't resist the urge to dress up in their camo and armor, carry their AR decked out with every known accoutrement and attachment, and parade around trying to draw as much attention to themselves as possible. Unfortunately, there will always be a number of nutcases mixed in with the normal bunch of over-dressed Weight Watchers dropouts who are itching to begin WWIII and who will look for every avenue to kick off the festivities themselves. David is absolutely correct, this is a time to stay at home, keep a low profile, and not give the nutjobs and antis any more ammunition against gun owners and enthusiasts ...
  12. The NRA needs your donation too Erik. After all, we have to keep Wayne properly dressed, chauffeured and well-rested from his vacations in order to keep him and his cronies out of jail ...
  13. I don't agree with arbitrarily censoring an entire site due to some of the posts/topics or users actions, but I do remember you posting earlier on what a cesspool a good portion of Reddit is (on opinion I agree with BTW). I have also found the same level of garbage being widely posted on Arfcom, one of the reasons why I haven't been on that site in years. There are many in Congress who are itching to bring the tech industry down a peg or three, and recent events have provided a convenient excuse to do so. I suggest that the decision to take down Arfcom is an attempt to mitigate the potential damage of Federal regulation being used to break up the tech industry, in this case Arfcom was basically the low-hanging fruit ...
  14. All those wishing for Federal intervention into social media and tech companies in the hopes of preserving "free speech" should be careful what they wish for. The best model we have for Federal regulation is that used for the public utilities. If that becomes the norm for internet and tech companies, then pricing structure, content rules, enforcement of regulations, etc. will all come under the purvey of something like the FCC. Radio, television, telephones (conventional) are all under this type of regulation now, and as history shows, that's not exactly the Federal government allowing or promoting unlimited freedom of expression and speech ...
  15. So the "new", conservative-friendly social media platform is secretly a Russian disinformation and hacking application. its almost too rich to be true, if indeed it is. It would be hard to come up with a more improbable but dastardly plot for a cheap spy movie ...
  16. The things kids do for likes, follows, etc. includes examples that are far more provocative, revealing and potentially dangerous than what is discussed in this article. It's also been going on for years. By the time most of the adult world, and media outlets discover a trend among young people, its usually old news ...
  17. Star Trek is good too. I liked the original TV show so much, I refused to watch TNG while it was on - then saw the series after it finished, thoroughly enjoyed it. When the reboot movies came out, once again I figured they would be a poor substitute for either of the prior series, so skipped the first one. A year or 2 later, saw it online, and once again, wound up liking it. If they ever do another, I think this time around I may withhold judgement until actually seeing it ...
  18. It's not my fault all you young pups weren't around when the first movie came out ...
  19. Everybody started somewhere, we've all been there. Be somewhat patient, these shortages come and go, despite what all the gloom and doom crowd will tell you. Just don't be like so many and assume that you can always get what you want when you want when the inevitable happens, and once again ammo becomes cheap and plentiful. When that happens, buy up what you can afford when you can, gradually build up your supplies in whatever calibers you own. Come over to the dark side, and embrace your inner hoarder ...
  20. Don't remember if I've ever bought anything from them or not. Doesn't ring any bells, one way or another. Frankly, everything I see available online at the moment is priced way beyond what I would pay anyway. I won't be ordering anything in the near future. As one of those evil ammo hoarders, I don't need to anyway ...
  21. Do yourself a favor, and skip Solo. There are certainly problems with all the movies, but even Phantom Menace is watchable. You can't say that about Solo, it's just bad to the core, and not in a good way ...
  22. There's no guarantee that any of the online vendors won't have a security breach at some point, but all of the typical ammunition sites have pretty good reputations overall. I've bought quite a bit over the years from Sportsman's Guide, Ammoman, and others, usually from searches on ammoseek or similar. Check shipping costs as you go, that has usually been the determining factor in deciding who I went with ...
  23. Don't know what that means, but I'm old school and would advise watching them in the order they came out. If you can find the original versions, especially the one that later became known as Episode IV, even better ...
