  1. I have picked up 3-4,000 rounds since Febuary for 7 cents per round or less depending on what is was and if I had wanted to I could have bought at least 6,000 rounds per week at that price for months with no problem. I only bought what I bought because I knew people or knew of folks with kids that needed it. I have a fair bit of subsonic which is all I'm really interested in and don't see the need to buy it all up every time I see it. Outpost Armory has had reasonable (less than 10 cents) .22 ammo in stock most all the time since Thanksgiving and hasn't had crazy limits on it (typically 1,000 round limit). When I stopped in a few days ago they had plenty of standard cci and another affordable flavor. Cci prices seem to be higher than the Fed American Eagle, Federal Auto Match various Remington, etc.. that they have had in but it is something besides high end Eley and other $13 per 50 flavors. I just watched the American Rifleman guy interview a Federal rep and he was adiment that they were not only producing as much .22 ammo as ever but that they are producing much more by way of somewhat expanded lines and around the clock production. This also goes for cci (owned by federal) and I tend to believe it. I'd love to know how many new .22 firearms have been sold in the last two years. I'd say that combined with people wanting to build their own stash up and a renewed interest in shooting accounts for the still meager availability.
  2. Do you have to be at a range or would a farm setting that was safe to shoot be good enough?
  3. Typically, as residents of TN, the federal laws are going to be the aggravating factor. I can't say for sure but if federal law allows it I would think that TN would as well.
  4. He left it open for a week. I'm not sure if he's changed the price on the website yet or not.
  5. Why'd you have to go resurrect this thread?!?!?id been doing a pretty good job of not thinking to much about it until now ?. I'm not sure when my mount will be completed but I haven't paid the guy yet so it's living rent free in his freezer right now. I can't remember when he estimated that it'd be done but I seem to remember thinking that I had until mid-late summer to figure out where I'd hang him. I do think you and my wife are Aholes for bringing all this up tho, I mean, you know that I'm waiting on my suppressor and sbr approvals and now you added deer season and a call from the taxidermist and she's added a baby to my "things I'm waiting on" list. In all seriousness though, I can't wait!!!
  6. It was $59 if you didn't want the block or the tube and $9.99 more if you did. The regular price for the barrel is like $109 so that was a big savings. It's not a match barrel but they are made from ER shaw blanks and melanite coated. The specs looked very similar to CMMG Blackout barrels. I figured if it turned out to be a piece of crap (I doubt it) I'm only out $59.
  7.  Well I went ahead and submitted my form 1 tonight just in case they decide to pull efile down. I had my months off in my head and was thinking that tomorrow was the 1st of April instead of May. I looked back at the exact wording on the Silencer Shop page and noticed something that I had not noticed before. It sounds as if whoever was typing that was doing so sometime after April, I'm now wondering if that was just never taken down from last time they took E-file offline? Any of you more seasoned NFA guys remember if it was April when they pulled it last?
  8.    Hmm.. I guess that would be a good place to look. I wouldn't have thought about it though. It's kinda out of my realm.
  9. I was basing on the announcement on Silencer Shop's website. I just realized that it's the 30th and the note on their website says "as of April the ATF will not be accepting new submissions via Eform". I guess I can file tonight when I get home and beat the "as of April" in case they are planning to shut it down. My only issue is that now the banks are closed so I can't get by to put money in my trust account. Guess i can just use the credit card. I really didn't want to do it right now but would rather go ahead than have to paper file if they do in fact shut Efile down.
  10. Efile in general is down so It doesn't matter which form you're filing. Hopefully it's just a temporary thing to allow them to catch up or restructure something to make it run smoother? Who knows. I guess I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that this was necessary and not based on some anti 2A asshat causing problems. I don't remember who mentioned it above but I agree that the Sig Brace opinion change probably flooded the system and caused the increase in current wait times. I am glad that you got in there before they cut it off since that was your whole purpose behind getting the trust now rather than building as a rifle first. It won't hurt me to wait I guess.
  11. I just looked at the list and it's showing N/A beside "electronic form 4's". I saw the note you mentioned and it in fact is saying that everything has to be submitted by paper now so no more Efile until they bring it back online. Now I'm kicking myself in the arse for not going ahead and filing it!
  12. Lord I hope they've not pulled the Efile down again! If they did then y'all can all feel free to blame me because I started buying the parts to build my 300 sbr upper and that's just my luck!
  13.  Get on the Silencer Shop website and they have a page with their "most recent" times on different forms I haven't looked this week but last week i'm pretty sure I saw 35 or 36 days wait time on their most recent (at the time) approval. It allso showed their latest form 3 coming back in less than 5 weeks but I heard from a friend that he got his form 3 wass approved 1 day after and it had taken 49 total so maybe i'm figuring wrong? Thats a bit disappointing that wait times are creeping back up again, I sort of thought I had a bit more time to put off my sbr and still have it approved about the same time that my suppressor will be getting out of "jail".
  14. I don't think there is anything that says that the trust info has to be engraved into metal. I know a guy that has an Scar that he sbr'd and unless he swapped out the lower with an aftermarket aluminum unit, it has it's engraving done on polymer. That being said, the Scar was designed to run a poly lower where the AR is not. I just can't see risking $200 with as many poly lowers as I hear about breaking.
  15. I'm not sure and I keep forgetting to ask Dave when I'm there. I'm not sure he'll tell me any different because undoubtedly he acquired his FFL during the period that a manufacturing license was needed because that's what they made him get to conduct his normal business. He has since started assembling and selling complete rifles because in his words "why not? they made me get the manufacturing license". Building/assembling rifles was never his intention but he decided he would if there was money to be made.
  16. I surely hadn't thought of the 3d printer option. I know a bit about how they work but the part I'm unsure of is where he'd find the plans, programs, dimensions or whatever it would take to tell the printer what exactly you want printed out. Is there a database of these thing s that you know of or are you thinking that he'd need to scan an actual gun to get what is needed? Thanks for the idea.
  17. Okay guys, the triggers are up on his website and ready to purchase. They will remain there through next Saturday at the current price. There has been a bit of a price change due to the manufaturer changing prices since he ordered last as well as require a $135 minimum sale price. What Dave is doing to try to make up for this is including tax (per original deal) as well as covering shipping costs so it will be a flat $135 to your door. I apologize for the price change but he had no idea that Velocity had restructured their distributer rules and pricing. If this price change is something that you can't live with then you're welcome to back out of the purchase. If you live in Murfreesboro of close enough that you'd like to drop in and pay in person at the shop that is perfectly fine. Here's the link to the product page, http://www.bamcustoms.com/bam_customs_store_front.php Check out his Cerakote work on his Facebook page, he does phenomenal work with stencils and custom work that most coating shops won't touch. If anyone has any problems or questions don't hesitate to let me know or give Dave a call.
  18. I spoke with Dave today and let him know that there might be a few that would choose the flat trigger if possible. He said that he is going to place both, the 3# curved and 3# flat, triggers on his website. Since everyone is in TN he has to charge sales tax so the price will be $125 total. This represents the 10% discount plus the 9.75% sales tax rounded up. He told me that he will have these options on his website by Saturday and I told him that if he got busy and didn't get it on the website by then that I'd collect the money by PayPal or in person if you're local. Hopefully he'll take care of it by then to simplify things but I know you guys probably want to get the ball rolling. I will update everyone as soon as I get more info. Thanks for the patience, I'm about to go crazy not being able to do anything.
  19. Not yet and it's completely my fault. I've not been out of the house since Saturday and stuck in the recliner for most all of it. I'm at the doctors office now but I'm going by his shop on my way home so I'll stop by. I'll report back.
  20. Sure man, I can change the total with him in the morning. Pm me with how many you want, first name and location.
  21. Guys, I'm very sorry, I should have updated this a few days ago but got very busy and am now flat on my back praying that I haven't ruptured one of the bad discs in my back. Anyways, I didn't realize but the guy the triggers are coming from made this offer to one other group as well as U.S. And they had until the end of the week to get their orders in. I'm going to attempt to get whoever ends up taking me for X-Rays tomorrow to swing by the shop on the way home. If this delay has changed anyone's mind then just let me know but everything else is still on track.
  22. Glad you were able to get your own hands one them. I can give you my opinions and reasons for them and someone else can give you theirs and chances are they will be quite different. Sounds like you like the "pistols" about as much as I do though. The only reason I can foresee myself ever owning one is to legally carry a rifle caliber loaded in the truck but even then I would have to work my way pretty far down my want list to get to that point. I've been pleased with my 16" CMMG 1:7 pistol length gas port barrel. Honestly, pickin's were pretty slim when I bought mine (right after newtown shooting) so I didn't has a lot of choice but even now I'm not sure I'd got another route. It's not a match barrel but no further than you're typically going to be shooting with the caliber I'm not sure it makes much difference. Good luck and call if you need anything.
  23. I just sent everyone a pm with what I need from you. If you didn't receive a pm just let me know.
  24. Okay, When I left Dave's shop he was trying to get the trigger added to his website or to his Facebook store so that only folks from this thread can order at that price and to offer a payment method for any of you not local. It might be tomorrow before he gets it set up but he asked that I get a list of everyone's names and how many they want. Our internet has been hit and miss tonight but I'll try to get a pm to everyone as a reminder. Don't list your names here in open forum if you're not comfortable doing so, you're welcome to pm names and quantity wanted.
  25. Life got out of hand yesterday. I'm on my way to figure out ordering instructions and will post them as soon as I figure it out. I'll also need a firm count so I'll pm everyone to confirm.
