  1. That took a while. What kind of accuracy have you been getting?
  2. Well I'm not to excited about it because I sold my parts off to fund a bolt gun and glass and there's still a part of me that wants to re purchase parts and build it. I found a new set of dies and a box of 123gr Lapua Scenars that I had forgotten about while re organizing some of the drawers in my loading room last week. I should probably post them for sale or keep them in case I do build one eventually.
  3. Below is the latest "ATF Online" email. My question is, if they actually think that the "president's" recent executive bs is going to go through, why are they still developing any efile related software? If they are to start requiring fingerprints on everyone then wouldn't that mean that everything would have to go the paper file route?
  4. As it turns out, Lisa is one of the people he spoke with yesterday. That evidently didn't net him a gain. Might not hurt to call her again but I'm was meaning that I didn't have to time to really start into any of it today during their business hours.

  6. We didn't make it to the DMV today. I woke up to what sounded like a honey badger in my hvac unit so the whole day was delayed by like 3 hours. I'm hoping we'll have time to work on it tomorrow.
  7. Well that's certainly good advice. I'll call a few more numbers in the morning and try to get someone higher up the chain to acknowledge that the DMV clowns are wrong and hopefully send that in email form or something else that can be printed off and taken in. They've very recently moved to the state so he's got all of his documentation out from the drivers license switch over. Hopefully they'll allow us to speak to a supervisor without having to ask if an attorney is needed but I suppose the attorney is the next play if they continue to play "hide the supervisor" or playing dumb. I googled several different DMV locations today and not a single one had a review rating of more than 1.7 so I guess it'd be foolish to walk in expecting good service. Thanks to you and everyone else for the tips, hopefully it'll go smoothly but one of us will update.
  8. Well I've certainly got an attorney that loves to make an ass out of people that don't know what they're talking about so maybe that's the next step if a few phone calls don't work in the morning. Every time I deal with a dmv employee I am reminded of how sick I am of sorry ass slugs receiving taxpayer funded pay checks. If your pay check is funded by tax dollars and you're not in the military, you should , as part of your job description, do everything short of literally kissing the tax paying customer's ass. I'm very good at showing my ass but I like to make sure that I'm in the right before I do it. Based on what you're saying, this is nothing more than misinformed employees that are to lazy to dig in and try to find the truth. Tomorrow could get interesting.
  9. he went to 2 dmv locations today (Shelbyville and Murfreesboro) and they didn't even let him past the "greeter" station. Just kept calling what he had "temporary status" when it has "permanent resident" in the name.
  10. So, Sam, what did you end up having to do or who did you have to talk to to get past this snag?
  11. I contacted the 251 number when I called today and that where I stumbled upon that fountain of knowledge that I mentioned above so maybe we'll try the first one you mentioned.
  12. Oh Shoot, this is my brother in law that's just moved to tn. I was hoping you would see this and have someone in mind. I talked to a "generic phone jockey" a the Homeland Security office in Nashville but I knew when I was have to inform her of the law and regs as well as where they're located on their website, I was wasting my time. All she had to say was that if he had the "permanent resident I-551" that the folks at the dmv were wrong in their declining him the permit. I don't suffer idiots very well and that, in my experience" is what you are going to deal with during a trip to the dmv. We'll give Lisa Knight a call tomorrow and see what she has to say. Hopefully some others with first hand experience with this particular issue will chime in.
  13. Unless you really hustle big time, the 650 with case feed will pretty much double your output of the 550 in a given period of time. On the 550 (as you know) you are manually inserting a case, place a projectile and rotating the shell plate. The 650 does all of that l, except placing a projectile, for you and you can crank the handle as fast as you can place the projectile.
  14. Good looking cat. If I've got the "spare cash" next time I take one I'm going to have s full mount done.
  15. Oh I totally get it, al the quota/non quota this and that is nothing short of frustrating. They should be assuming that they're communicating with dumb a's like myself when writing the handbook. Why not just say, if your hunting "this" with "that" during "this" time, you'll need "that" permit, etc. As far as this week being because of doe not being bred, first I've heard of that. The antler less bag limit reduction is an attempt at growing bigger bucks in tn by trying to make sure more of them reach maturity. I'm a firm believer that it will work and there will likely be a noticeable difference within 2 seasons. The only reason I can think of that some for aren't being bred is if there is a lopsided doe/buck ratio in certain areas and the bucks just don't have time for all that. I can promise you that in my area we have a heavy buck population and there's really not enough doe to be killing many. The best thing that has come from this is that I've witnessed more aggression and competition between bucks than ever before. If you've never seen two buck square off in a food plot no more than 25yds from your blind, you're missing out!
  16. Never mind, I just saw that Raildog has posted the portion of the regs that I was mentioning.
  17. You can look at the wording in the hunter ref booklet, it says private land rather than land owners. The only mention of land owner was to say that they didn't have to posses the type 94 doe permit. I have no way to prove this to you but this has obviously been a source of confusion this year and the person running the TWRA FB page repeatedly confirmed that it was anyone hunting private land, not just the land owner.
  18. You don't have to be the land owner, it just can't be public/gov land so if you're in unit L you are good to hunt. Unless you're meaning that the owner has cut hunting off for the year.
  19. I knew that, I keep forgetting that not everyone is in unit L though :)
  20. Hmm,, in that case I think you had trespassers or hiking trespassers at best. The lack of respect and common courteousy I see out of my generation (assuming they were they average "hiking" age) is upsetting and embarrassing to me. They obviously gave not a second thought to marching imonto another man's property that he or she paid and worked for. If you have private land to hunt you know you can hunt until the 8th for doe only. This may be old news but I didn't learn of it until About a week ago.
  21. I assume you are hunting public land? I have been very fortunate through out my life to always have permission to hunt more land properties than I could possibly ever hunt in a year and could have had more if I'd just asked. I've never had to worry about other hunters posting up in my spot or using my stand or hikers and such but that's never stopped me from getting frustrated every time I hear of it happening. Sorry to hear your season ended like that.
  22. Well it's your form and time. I know it's never fun to deal with gov groups but I can't help but think it'll be an easier fix on the front end. I sincerely hope that it goes through without causing you any headache at all. Keep us posted.
  23. Unfortunately you're dealing with a gov buacracy and they have unlimited time on their hands. Chances are if you make contact with them and explain that you think you may have chosen the wrong option (you did) they will get you to someone that can help you amend your form 1 and not start your wait time over. If you wait until you get denied (you will be) you will almost certainly have to make the changes and start at the back of the line.
  24. Congrats on the buck! His rack looks very much like the bigger of my 3 last year. beautiful deer.
