  1. Thanks for the advice all, I will say that 686 has me very tempted!!
  2. Patton - very nice piece, I'm really starting to like the SS look, all my other stuff is black (even my Colt Rail Gun). A little SS might be a nice addition..........decisions decisions!!
  3. Thanks ITF, is the only difference between the 586 and 686 the bluing instead of SS?
  4. Thought I'd throw this out there.............after digging through my collection in the safe of poly 9mms, 45s, 380s, the good ol 1911s, the occasional AR, 10/22, and trusty 870s, I realized life is lacking. I need a wheel gun to add to the mix and spice things up a bit. What do ya'll recommend for a first one? Don't really care about barrel length (thinking more of a range gun) and caliber thinking of 38 or 357 due to ammo prices. Any recommendations on brand/model etc?? Did I just open a can o' worms!!??
  5. As someone who frequently travels a 6 state territory on a weekly basis, this is awesome. Need to start showing this in the US
  6. Saw a little bita chatter on here about the G42. Sold my LCP a month ago and went and bought one and haven't looked back since. Even with the pierce grip extension fits fine in jean pocket, not much printing. I know there was a lot of online stuff about their finicky on ammo when they first came out, but I've put everything through it .380 wise I can find trying to get it to malfunction to no avail!! Lol. Awesome little pocket pistol.
  7. Capsaicin,   If you're looking for a good place to go rent and shoot some different stuff, Everything Weapons has a new indoor range on Southwind Blvd (just off of 96, right behind Whitts BBQ) in Franklin. Nice clean range, over 50 guns to choose from to rent (all listed online) and its only $10 for 2 gun rentals, $20 range fee. Been real impressed with them and it is my new indoor range. Check it out
  8. hipower, I run their 230gr reman through my 5" 1911 and its great stuff. Saw you were asking about 185gr earlier. No experience with that but the 230 has never failed
  9. Keep ur hopes up my friend, I'm starting to see it more and more! I'll keep an eye out and let ya know if I come across any more.
  10. Guess I've been pretty lucky. I signed up for notifications through midway for bulk packs of some of my normal stuff that I run through my 10/22 and this week picked up 500 cci blazers for $22 ($33 after shipping). Also picked up 500 mini mags through them about a month ago for 9.99 per hundred, think it was around $62 after shipping but for mini mags about the best I've seen.
  11. Welcome to TGO and to Nashville. You're gonna love it here. Moved here from Columbus, OH myself in 2000 and I'm never goin back. The people on here are great!! Don't hesitate to reach out if you need any recommendations on anything around Nashville.
  12. Raoul, thanks for the chart!!   Jonnin - will definitely try the dry fire test, probably need a bit more tip of the finger from what i'm gathering   itchytriggerfinger - LOL, yeah I've been gettin spoiled on the 9mm!
  13. Figured I'd reach out to all of you to get a little help on my POA/POI problem with my 1911. Just got it and have had it to the range twice and every shot is low and to the right. I read several articles stating that those that are not used to the 1911 have a tendency to go low and left which makes sense to me as I am left handed so this would fit the bill. I had a buddy of mine at the range with me and he put 5 mags through it and was dead on so I know it's the shooter (that would be me!!) and not the gun. I'm dead on with my G17 gen 4 so it may be just getting used to the gun itself. I love the feel of the gun but want to be able to hit what I'm aiming at. Any tips you can provide are greatly appreciated. Thanks as always for the help!!
  14. Finally got it to the range today and loved it. Took the wife with me and she put about 100 rounds through it and loved it. Thinking I can definitely get two or three more by her now.
  15. So how do I sneak 3 more past the wife??
  16. Ha, I hear ya!! It'll change after I get three more 1911's like hipower suggested. Once the 1911's outnumber the Glocks in the safe!!!
  17. Hipower - glad to hear you enjoyed them!!   Jonnin - thanks for the tips on the springs and lube.
  18. Thanks hipower!! Definitely think the fever will hit. BTW, did you ever get to shoot those .357 sig rounds I gave you? Glad they went to someone who could use them!
  19. Thanks Bassman, lookin forward to gettin her out of the safe this weekend. If she shoots as good as she looks, think I'm gonna be in love!!
  20. Ok, so after years of being a Glock guy, finally broke down and bought a 1911, namely a Colt Rail Gun. Just looking for a little advice on the do's and dont's for these. Already got the Wilson Combat mags as I heard from more than one of my fellow TGO's that the factory mags are crap. Any other advice (ammo selection that you've had luck with, recoil springs etc) would be greatly appreciated by the newbie!!
