  2. I'm having one done right now. Total cost was $96 for lower with all the milling work and black anodized finish.
  3. Work tomorrow, no drinking tonight. I wished they would change the Superbowl and the NCAA NC game to Saturday night.
  4. Speaking of price gouging............  http://www.armslist.com/posts/974656/knoxville-tennessee-rifles-for-sale--ruger-10-22-takedown-stainless--22-lr---nib--unfired---hard-to-find   Ruger 10/22 Take Down for $675!!! Where do they come up with these prices? Retail is $399.
  5. Here's a good one for you. I put an ad on armslist the other day that I was looking for a 10/22 stainless carbine and I would pay $250 for one because I could buy one at Walmart for that when they get them again. I had someone to email me this today..............   "Nothing really to say....you tell people what you won't do and try to control what they sell their weapon for... really. The market will dictate the price. Just because Wallie Mart sell something has nothing to do with what private citizens will see their gun for. Best of luck in your search"   I told the guy if he wanted to do something constructive, he should email the people that were trying to rip others off but I'm guessing he's one of the ones that's trying to sell his 10/22 for $400. BTW, I just copied and pasted his responce so he also needs to learn how to spell.
  6. What I'm hoping for is when the shelves are stocked back up, the buyers have already bought and there will be some deals. Gunbroker has gone crazy too. Selling 10/22 takedowns for $550 or more. Then you have the BX-25 mags bringing $100 each. I bought three Glock 21 13 round mags last month on GB for $56, a couple weeks ago I saw them selling for $75 each and people were bidding on them. Thankfully I have plenty of ammo and the guns that I need. Notice I didn't say "want".
  7. It was the wood stock and blued barrel, I'm thinking those are around $220. I didn't ask the price but I do know the black stock and stainless barrel is $250 and some change. I'm wanting one but going to hold out for the "target" model with the bull barrel.
  8. Armslist is about a waste of time unless you're a seller. There's no deals to be had, that's for sure. People going into Wally world buying $200 10/22's and putting them on there the next day for $350. I'm looking for a 10/22 but I'll wait till the dust settles.
  9. Walmart in Jefferson City had Remington .22LR today. Boxes of 50 count with a limit of 3 boxes per customer. They also had a Ruger 10/22, I'm sure it's gone by now.
  10. I would guess 90% are junk but I'm sure there's some nice guns destroyed. These buyback programs are a joke, it's not like the criminals are going to turn in their guns. Where do these people come up with these brilliant ideas? It reminds me of the cash for clunkers program. I saw some videos on youtube of these beautiful old Land Cruisers being destroyed. Makes you want to shed a tear seeing such useful items being wasted. That's our government at work spending our hard earned money.
  11. That looks more like it. I love what the people did in Seattle at the gun buyback. It turned into a hell of a great gun show and nothing the mayor or police could do about it. Anyone ever heard of a buyback in Tennessee? May need to hit the next one
  12. I was wondering what the revolver with the rib was? Surely not a Python
  13. I love good bourbon but haven't really gotten into buying bottles of high end stuff. When I go to Louisville, Ky, I always have dinner at least one time at Baxter's Station, which is a great bourbon bar. They have over 100 different bourbons available and run from $5.75 to $23 ( Pappy Van Winkle's 23yr ) per glass. As far as my every day drinking bourbon, I recently picked up a bottle of Jim Beam Devils Cut and have to say, it's a good bourbon. I've always been a 12 year old George Dickel drinker but the older I get, the more I like bourbon.

I've been checking the Wally World website and it shows what's in stock at which store, they showed 10/22's in Newport so I called and the guy said he had 1 of each that they order. I should have went over today but was tied up at work, hoping the one I want will still be there tomorrow. $250 compared to $350 for a used one on armslist. I'm wanting to get a Green Mountain bull barrel and trick it out a little. I can't be happy with the gun, I have to go an add stuff to it.

Here she is. I've got to buy a few more mags, looking at Wilson Combat and a couple Chip McCormick 10 rounders. Also want to get a Streamlight TLR 1S rail light. With the light and extra mags, I need about $200 more dollars. Also looking to buy a Ruger 10/22 so it all takes a little time and sticking money back that the wife don't know about
  16. $41.50 a box and still has 11 hours to go. I just bought 4 boxes 2 days ago for $25 a box and felt like I got ripped off. I bought 2 boxes a couple months ago for $18.99 a box.    http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=326004292   Here's another good one. I guy emailed me the other day and said he would take $255 for his matte finished stainless 10/22, I guess I need to get in touch with him and buy it. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=327015988
  17. I didn't go to the gun show but my cousin said he bought a new AR for $1,100. I have a feeling if nothing happens with a ban, AR's will be in the $700 range in a few months and since everyone has stocked up on ammo, it will do the same. All wishful thinking but I'm hoping for the best. I'm wanting a 10/22 but I'm not paying double the walmart price for one right now, I'll keep shooting my 597 till they come back down. I found some Federal Champion .22 this week for $25 a box for 525 rounds, so I've got plenty of .22 ammo now and don't have to feel bad about going out shooting again.

Well, the stars aligned and I got the Sig 1911 Scorpion. Maybe I'll still get a FNP 45, but I'll have to wait a few months. It wasn't the same money but I'm happy it worked out. Thanks again for all your help.
  19. Fishing vendors is about it from what I can see. I talked to some fellow duck hunters on another site and the ones that live in the area and normally attend, said they will not be going this year.
  20. I didn't see the other thread about this, sorry about that. Please feel free to delete this one. Next time I'll take a better look before posting something.
  21. Sorry, didn't see that. I'm glad to see these guys take a stand. Makes me want to buy more from Cabela's and I wished we would get one in Tennessee.

  23. PHILADELPHIA – Hunting and fishing retailer Cabela’s Inc. and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation will not participate in what has been billed as Pennsylvania’s largest outdoor sports show next month following the decision to ban the display and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines. Event organizer Reed Exhibitions imposed the ban at the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show following the deadly Connecticut elementary school shooting that has prompted the ongoing gun control debate in Washington. The event’s website says officials “strongly support the 2nd Amendment” but decided negative attention on such weapons “would distract from the strong focus on hunting and fishing at this family-oriented event and possibly disrupt the broader positive experience of our guests.“ Cabela’s said on its Facebook page on Saturday that after carefully considering their business practices “and the feelings of our customers, Cabela’s will, unfortunately, not have a presence at the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show.“ The Missoula-based Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation canceled its exhibit and its management of the show’s elk-calling contest. “RMEF reached this decision after careful deliberations and taking into account the stance of our members, volunteers, industry partners and fellow hunters,” a statement from the organization read. “We urge Reed Exhibitions to reconsider its policies to avoid a divisive and political atmosphere so RMEF can take part in an event that generates needed revenue for important on-the-ground conservation and hunting heritage projects in the region. RMEF spokesman Mark Holyoak said the organization objected to a ban of legal firearms, although it did not make any comment on the use of military-style weapons as hunting rifles. “Our organization members and others use all sorts of different weapons,” Holyoak said. “If they’re legal that’s great, if they’re illegal, that’s a totally different thing.” Event director Chris O’Hara of Reed Exhibitions did not immediately return a call seeking comment. The nine-day show is scheduled to open Feb. 2 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg. Word of the event organizer’s action drew numerous calls for a boycott from gun enthusiasts on the show’s Facebook page and accusations that Reed wasn’t standing up for their Second Amendment right to bear arms. The National Rifle Association issued a statement calling upon Reed Exhibitions to reconsider, saying their future participation in the show would be determined by the response. The NRA also urged members to follow the organization’s lead by “voicing their displeasure.“ Several other companies earlier announced their intention to withdraw from the show. The (Lancaster) Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era said Kinsey’s Outdoors of Mount Joy, Lancaster Archery Supply and Trop Gun Shop of Elizabethtown had said they do not intend to participate. Cabela’s Inc. of Sidney, Neb., currently has 40 outdoor gear and sporting goods stores across the United States and Canada.

    Sig P227 .45

I heard a shop in Dandridge will be doing the deal with KPD and will be trading for all of KPD's Glocks and .40 ammo.
