  1. Went looking for some small pistol primers today. Everybody's favorite, Reloaders Bench, only had large pistol primers, another local store only had large pistol, and the last I checked was out of primers altogether. Anyone have a good local source for middle TN? I've been reluctant to order from the internet but may have to get a few people together to split the hazmet fee. Also, boy the prices have gone up!
  2. I got home a little while ago from the NRA Club U. It was very informative! For anyone who is an officer, director, or owner of a gun club should definitely attend one. Or even better, attend one of the week long range conferences. It was good to meet some of you who attended. Also like to thank Hero Gear for their effort. Was nice to meet you guys as well!
  3. Zero bullets: 9mm - 1000 jacketed for around $80.00, no shipping charges
  4. I also took my class at The Range, Inc. Since women want to take a class, do they want a woman to teach them? OnTarget in Murfreesboro has a female instructor on staff and I believe she teaches women only classes.
  5. Digital scales usually come with a check weight. My Frankford scale came with a 20 g weight.
  6. Even as recent as year ago, it was not really cost effective to reload 9mm. Now though, it is. To me at least. The last time I calculated it, I figured about 6.00 per 50 rounds. That's only for materials and not the initial start up cost of the equipment. That price is also for using recycled brass. I reuse brass that I have shot and/or picked up, I haven't purchased brass. That price is for materials to reload basic range ammo.
  7. I ordered ammo from ammoman.com a couple days before the election. They've been out of 99% of ammo since.
  8. I would've taken the lot. You can't have enough ammo, you can live without food or a place to live, etc.
  9. I haven't loaded since before Halloween as well. Fortunately, I haven't been shooting enough to deplete my reserves. I've got a bunch of cases all ready for powder and bullets, so it shouldn't take me too long.
  10. When someone offers to show you how to reload, take them up on their offer. Back in March I was "thinking" about reloading, I bought some books and started reading up on it. I made a post on another forum and someone offered to teach me how to reload. I never met the guy before but it was great that he offered. Up until then, I was saving my brass, bought some equipment, and I had just ordered my first die set. I only have handguns, so I started with .38 spls, and moved on to other calibers once I got the process down. That's all I needed to feel confident about reloading. Having someone explain it to me and actually see the process in person. I have loaded 1000's of rounds since. I don't own a chrony at this point. I only reload for range use. For defense loads, I use factory.
  11. In case Big Brother is reading .... Nothing in my house.
  12. If anyone reloads .308 win, I have between 100 and 150 shells.
  13. And Chuck Norris actually died 10 years ago but the Grim Reaper is too scared to tell him.
  14. Never a problem with my Kimber. At least 2000 rounds through it. Well actually, the only problem that I had was removing the grip and the grip screw bushing came off.
  15. I only started reloading in 2008. I bought the Frankford Arsenal tumbler/media separator kit. I've used corn cob media with Flitz brass polish. Brass comes out nice and shiny. I later bought a media separator from Berrys Mfg (http://www.berrysmfg.com/237.php) because the one with the Frankford had an open top which kicked up a lot of dust. Seems like you're well on your way with the equipment. It's good to have multiple books for reference.
  16. ammoman.com has .223 available Placed 4 orders with them with no problems.
  17. My Kimber eats whatever I put through it including reloads.
  18. I use AA #5 for 9mm. I have used Titegroup as well.
  19. Hmmmm ... I'll try that next time. I have had a similar problem with a case of UMC .357 sig ammo that I bought for my Sig P229. Some times I can't fire 10 rounds without one not firing. There is a primer strike, but no bang. I have even tried (which I guess I shouldn't have) to keep pulling the trigger until it fires. Most times the 2nd time works, other times I could keep pulling the trigger and nothing. I have never had any problems with any other ammo that I've put through that gun so I'm assuming it's that ammo.
