    My dream AR-15.

i've had two DPMS and they both worked flawlessly. i'm sure the Panther Sweet 16 is an awesome weapon. looks great too.
  2. some drive Ford, some drive Chevy, but if you can afford a Benz why not buy one.?.?.?.?
  3. i don't have any extra brass, but i agree with you about time to start reloading. you can only shoot the .22's for so long, before you got to feel the big bang from the .40 and .45's.
  4. i think it depends on which model you choose. i've seen new STI go from $650-$1700. for those prices i would have to look at some custom shop Kimbers.

    S&W- M&P .40

sorry just responding to your quote, just saw it.... i'm not knocking the M&P i've fired the 9mm and the .40. between both guns i guess a total of 300-350 rounds fired. and they were flawless. but i've fired over 3000 rounds through my XD's (sub compact .40, XDM .40, compact .45) flawlessly. so my experience is greater with the XD. again not to knock the M&P, there's a reason why many LEO are considering them. bottom line for me. when i come to a conclusion it's based facts. the ones i have gathered, and also what others have gathered. that's how one comes up with an overall conclusion. and the fact is, they (XD's) were one of NRA's "Gun of the Year" in 2007. and that conclusion is far greater than any one i can come up with.
  6. for a Sigma?????????? i hope that was a misprint. if not a misprint, then someone is going to get robbed without a pistol.

    New Plinker

i understand saving a few bucks on ammo. i'm shooting my sons .22's more now and days. but i agree with Magic there's nothing like the big bang from a .40 or .45. Congratz on your new toy.
  8. those are awesome weapons. i got mine joe at hero also. if you put some crimson trace grips on it, then you will really love it.......enjoy
  9. i got my money on the drill shooting better than the Hi Point. just kidding Hi Point owners.
  10. Congratz. Give us a range report after you take it to the range. I've been thinking about picking one of those up........Thanks
  11. Depending on the age of your children. I agree a Cricket is a good way to go. I just gave my nephew(5 yrs old) a Chipmunk. It's also a 22 single shot rifle. My son first was a Ruger 10-22(5 yrs old), Walther P22 (7 yrs old), Ruger Mark II (8 yrs old). Now he's 9 and this Christmas he will get my Browning Hi Power 9mm. Of course he does not have access to them. They live in the safe.
  12. you can also find estate sales in local bargain marts, and trading post.
  13. Congratz on your new toy. My XDM shoots much better than I do. And I agree the box is James Bond cool.
  14. I try to make all the shows in E.Tenn and the Expo seems to be the biggest show around. Considering it has not been one in Knoxville in the pasted two months give or take, it should be pretty good.
  15. I love my XDM I've only feed it 300rds. It shoots just as good or better than it looks. And when it comes to fighting pistols I don't care about looks, only performance. But I've never had a problem from my other XD's. They are my nite stand weapons.
  16. I'm with I don't need better pics, I'm already lusting.
  17. Good looking wheel gun I got there. Enjoy it.

    S&W- M&P .40

I don't know that much about the M&P. I don't own one, but the guys at the range say if you get one go with the .40cal. For around the same money I would lean toward an XD.
  19. I'm a big fan of Kimbers from their custom shop. But when Joe from Hero put the Wilson in my hands, I almost forgot about my Kimbers. If you get a chance to fire one a few times then you will understand what all the hype is about.
  20. A good idea I think, is to go to a local gun shop. One that has a range on site, and that rents guns. That way it's like test driving a car. Then you want get something you think you like, to learn you hate it after firing it.....Good luck..
  21. For the money I think the Taurus 145 is a good weapon, and it feels good in your hand. I don't own one but a friend does, and I put 50rds down the pipe with no problems. I do own a XD-9, XDM-40, XD-45 and all I can say about the Springfield XD, it's a reason why is was the gun of the year in 2007. For the money I don't think you can beat them. Go for the XD.

    Kel-Tec P32

I agree with most, the p32 or p3at are great choices. I have both. The only thing I can say bad about either is you will forget it's there. Because of that reason I have gone in places ever with the ccw that I should not have. You can buy a belt clip for the gun($15.00) and it's a must. It looks just like you have a knife clipped on your belt. I've worn it everyday for close to 2yrs and never one time has anyone noticed it. Not once. I'm a "bigger is better" guy so a lean to the p3at. Not taking anything from the p32, because great for carry too.

    HK's P7?

I let someone talk me out of my P7 and kicking myself ever since. It's a great weapon and you can't wrong. Keep in mind if you don't like it which I doubt, it's an HK so you could move it quick if it's not for you.
