  1. Witworth .270 Bolt action... It was a nice gun but it had to go.
  2. I’m deeply saddened to hear this news… My prayers are with you and your family.
  3. Odds are that McCain will live to be 77+. We only need him for a little while LOL. Have you looked at the life expectancy of past presidents and compared their ages to the life expectancies of their time? What makes you think that Obama wont have the power to but a ban in place? So your vote for the economy is to raise taxes and spending to fix a failed economy? overdose?
  4. Those damn Hillary Clinton's pantsuits cost $6350 a piece retail. http://personalmoneystore.com/moneyblog/2008/09/10/responsible-use-of-money-a-faxless-payday-loan-for-an-orange-pantsuit-like-hillarys/ Michelle Obama spent $350 on a snak. http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=MGRmMWE2NzQwYTZiNTEyNWNmODRhNzkyOTcyZTFiMzk= The Obama Diet — Not Just Arugula [Lisa Schiffren] The "people's ticket" ordered a little snack from room service at the Waldorf, as the N.Y. Post's page Six reports: While he was at a meeting at the Waldorf-Astoria at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Michelle Obama called room service and ordered lobster hors d'oeuvres, two whole steamed lobsters, Iranian caviar and champagne, a tipster told Page Six. I'd guess the bill for that snack came in at around $350. Iranian caviar ain't cheap — even if you negotiate for it yourself. What the hell . . . Your campaign contributions (soon to be your tax dollars) at work. 150k didnt make Palin look any better in my eyes... she is how even in her LL bean Gear LOL.

    1911 sights??

I was only able to out my hands on one set of sights. They are not night sights but if you can use them you can have them for $25 shipped. They do have a bit of surface rust that you can see in the pics... but should clean up well. Looks like they sell for $65 on Novaks' site. I've had them in storage for 10yrs or so.. they were never installed. You may wan to send your gun to Novak and have a set of night sights installed. Pics http://www.novaksights.com/genuine%20novak%20sights/springfield_without_factory_installed_novak_sight.htm Where my clark pinmaster had its work done. You can get another idea of cost. http://www.clarkcustomguns.com/1911serv.htm#sight

    1911 sights??

Humm not too sure. I will look around. Seems like some the Novak sights may require a special cut in the frame to make them fit. http://www.novaksights.com/novak_sights.htm I think i have a set of Novak, ED Brown, and Wilson Combat for a 1911. Not sure I have not toucked the 1911 parts box in years. http://forum.m1911.org/archive/index.php/t-976.html Ok found this and seems that the sights are different. http://www.coolgunsite.com/comm_pistols/springmilspec.htm The sights are true to GI guns, with a tiny serrated ramp front and small square-notch rear. Interestingly, Springfield has always used a proprietary tenon size for their front sights. Older Colt and most military guns have a .058" width slot in the slide for the front sight tenon, while post-1988 Colts use a .125" tenon. Springfields by contrast use a .088" tenon size, so keep that in mind if you plan to order new replacement sights. The .125" tenon can be trimmed down by a gunsmith, but an easier solution is the correct-size sights offered by King's Gun Works in Glendale, California.

  9. Cool, you will be in Glock fashion at the range.
  10. Trying to Work on Tungsten about his KIMBER I had an older Kimber .45 but it is dads' now. I do have some newer stuff but I have not bought anything in 10 years or so. Now that the range is open up in Mt. Juliet I need to get off my rear and get back in the 10 ring LOL. I lost 30% of the vision in my right eye about ten years ago and gave up on shooting but all the Talk from Reef,Tungsten, Hornet Handler, and others on TNspeed struck a never that I thought was gone.... REEF, I am going to help LLyyod put his whipple on tomorrow. He will be the one doing the burnouts:up:
  11. I see a Hi-Power in your sig... My Grandfather gave me his from the 60-70's and I have yet to shoot it. Yeah most of my stuff is older )
  12. What did the paper do to you 00 buck:eek:
  13. LOL Heck, Playstation shoot'um games of the Old Days. http://www.history.com/exhibits/toys/inventors.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parker_Brothers http://www.nationalcowboymuseum.org/g_weit_info.html Seems that Charles Parker Started the gun company and his brother George started the game Company. "Parker Brothers Firearms Charles Parker established Parker Brothers Gun Works of Meriden, Connecticut, in 1867 for the production of shotguns of superior design and quality. Often referred to as "America's finest shotguns," the company's products combined excellent design and precision machining with painstaking hand-craftsmanship in fitting, finishing and embellishment. These breech-loading, double-barreled, smooth-bore guns were truly implements of functional elegance. Well-balanced, sleek and graceful in form and line, Parker shotguns could be purchased in a wide variety of gradations depending on the quality and figure of their walnut stocking and Damascus barrels, as well as on the extent and refinement of their hand-cut checkering and engraving. By 1900, with nearly 100,000 of its arms in the field, Parker Brothers had established itself as the leading name in "best quality" domestic shotguns. "
  14. Yeah like the game but I am not sure they both were the same company...
  15. I have the 20 gauge Rem 1100 that I got for my 13th birthday. My Grandad gave me a Parker Brothers (yes the game maker) 12 gauge that I think the world of. It was my favorite dove gun for years until it got to high in value to shoot. Also have an ancient 12ga single bbl that was my great grandads'. I have had an 870 magnum turkey gun in the past. I'd like to build/get a 12ga tatical type deal one day.
  16. Thanks for the welcome yall... I will get some pics and post up a few goodies... I dont have many of the "newer type" tatical handguns but way back when I picked up a couple of Sigs (226 & 229) and other stuff. The older "collector/safe queen" type stuff I do have.....I like to think. Tungstens' talk of him going to a .45 is what got me thinking guns again. I have had other .45's but the two I have left are a 1950's era Colt Lightweight and the .45 Clark Pinmaster (old school comp single gun). Good article about Mr. Clark http://www.bullseyepistol.com/clark.htm a great "past maker". I will have to get them out and knock the dust off of'um.
  17. welcome! Inget to Vanleer sometimes. A sawmill there is one of my accounts.
  18. Welcome! I signed up here today myself.
  19. Thanks Len I will look into HGR for sure. Portland is not too bad of a drive for me at all.
  20. The Nashville area....
  21. Thought I might as well sign up since I have been lurking here for a while. 97topless Snake on TN speed screen name = I have a Clark Custom .45 Pinmaster from back in the Old days and it is one of my favorites... not a crary size gun but sure fun to shoot. I am looking for a place to take the CCW class in a few months. Before that I'd like to make a couple trips to a range in the area when it warms up. It would help me to pick a gun to use for the class:up: Thanks, Mike
