  1. Well, at least they were. Hearing all out of stock, wondering if same prices on restock, with all the other gouging going on? - OS
  2. Not to be hypercritical, but strongly suggest you let a few folks proofread them first. - OS
  3. Okay, I'll call a meeting of them all over at my place next week, and will lay that info on them. - OS
  4. Unless something has changed, Slick Willie can't even try a case before the Supreme Court, much less serve as a judge. (disbarred for a while and later resigned from Arkansas bar and etc)... - OS
  5. Somebody mentioned this at dinner the other night: "94% of Americans have jobs now". The waiter said, "yeah, I know...I have 3 of them." - OS
  6. Well, seriously, Georgia Arms will be there, and I just looked on their site, and 9mm ball is same price as it was at the Jacob's show, $97 / 500. I didn't buy any last time, as Dicks was $80/500 at the time, but if they sell at the show for that, may get some this time. You do get metal ammo case with the 500 and 1000 round bulk sales. Then again, they may sell out before I get there for all I know. - OS
  7. Charter has one, in two variations, one pink! - OS
  8. Here's hoping that if that day ever happens, you face a single assailant! - OS
  9. ammoman looks about normal, but says just did 26 year sales record "this week" ammunitiontogo, looks like about normal pricing, says 5-6 day shipping delay due to volume... - OS
  10. Re: CheaperThanDirt: wow, the absolute cheapest in stock 9mm there right how is Blazer Brass for 14.84 for 50 rounds... same that I bought last week at WallyWorld for $9. I haven't looked around to see if it's just CTD freaking out, or if this is everywhere. It really DOES seem like the recent gasoline "shortage", with the election being the hurricane. - OS
  11. I dunno, noonish/1pm...I don't get up early lately... - OS

    Cleaning Guns

I've always field stripped everything I've ever owned after shooting, handgun or rifle or shottie...just started that way as a kid, and just can't seem to let a dirty gun sit around. On the other hand, I've never detail stripped a gun in my life. - OS
  13. Yeah, I'll probaby go, too....I have already been stocking up, especially on 9mm and more slowly on 12 ga buck/slugs. But can tell ya, if these kinds of prices are gonna be the norm all of a sudden, I'll be curtailing the shooting and playing more golf for entertainment. - OS
  14. Yep, I just happened to have ordered a couple of XD mags and odds and ends from CTD last night. Threw in couple boxes of Golden Saber 9mm +p. last night: 17.29 now: 29.97 and some Winchester 12 ga. 00 last night: 4.08 now: 5.10 wow. I mean, like, WOW... Will be interesting to see if similar at WallyWorld/Dick's... Guess I better get back by Dicks and get a couple cases more of that $9/box 9mm. They'll do "rain check" which I understand they will honor through duration of their weekly specials. - OS
  15. Oh, I dunno about that. Have you forgotten 2000 election? Bush didn't even win the popular vote, and wasn't really president elect until Supreme Court ruling in December, which determined that he won Florida by 500 votes. Now, THAT'S "split". - OS
  16. I dunno, eye of the beholder I reckon. I only shoot my .357 Ruger maybe every 4 range trips, and then usually around 50 shots or less. But if I shoot even 3 or 4 cylinders' worth of .38's I can feel the slight resistance of their residue buildup when I slide in a .357. Of course, this is generally all cheapo dirty ammo, too, (although none of it is really very cheapo price wise anymore). I've shot .357/.38 revolvers off and on all my life, but I guess never enough rounds at a time of mixed to really have any probs chambering/removing .357 after .38. Plus I always have cleaned guns after firing them. - OS
  17. Dunno about the foam, but can confirm that Blazer .357 alloy case is always snugger in cylinder of my Ruger after firing than brass, even starting with freshly cleaned cylinder. Although it is conventional wisdom to shoot your .357 before 38 if you're ripping off a bunch. - OS
  18. Yeah really. Keep in mind that the latest AWB proposal, still sitting in committee, is sponsored by 5 REPUBLICANS! - OS
  19. Guys, all we can do as Americans is keep fighting the good (and legal) fight for individual rights under the Constitution. No president has yet been elected that has not had a significant portion of the population totally against some part of his platform. Even though I am a total pessimist about the future of America (and the rest of the world), it has little to do with the impact of one man or party for a 4-8 year duration. I for one sincerely hope that in ways we can't yet foresee, Barack Obama will be deemed one of our greatest presidents and will somehow bring all Americans' hearts and minds closer together rather than further apart. - OS

    Gun Was Banned

What are YOU hiding for? - OS
  21. Yeah, good point. Interestingly (or not) I've read that the earlier Remington 870 "tactical" shotties were 18" but at some point they went to 18.5" also; perhaps for that reason, dunno. - OS edit: seconds behind bkelm :-)

    Gun Was Banned

Okay, I'll come clean, as I've asked similar regarding some other past mysteries myself. "The Rabbi" is a gun shop owner in Nashville, who admin banned on TGO for various posting crimes and misdemeanors after having been warned to cease and desist such behavior. He then created his own much smaller forum. There used to be an admin sticky regarding the facts, but it seems to be gone. Simple as that, it's just that every time it comes up, it turns into a minor inside joke hazing or something. My apologies for contributing to the chaos. - OS
  23. Well, Oh Shoot! His further question though: I presume there is no legal reason you can't cut a longer barrel down yourself, though, right? Except maybe knowing how to do it correctly? - OS
  24. 18", man. Shotguns have to be 18". Rifles 16" Both also have to be 26" total length of weapon. - OS
  25. They is spendy...maybe up to $185 or more, depending on model and grade. - OS
