  1. If you have the disposable income and it won't be a carry gun why not?
  2. That store on Summer will pull the same thing with EVERYONE. Not to mention don't even try to "haggle" with them over the price. They aren't doing it and their prices are the highest in town. I will be making purchases from my local range. I will go to the other guys to "feel" and then go to the range owner and ask him to order it. Most of his come in with in a couple of days so unless you need it RIGHT NOW then it isn't a big deal. Looks like soon I will be getting the pocket gun.
  3. Mars, Your Georgia Bar-B-Que requires finding a guilty georgian and shooting him and slow cooking doesn't it:death:
  4. When ever there is a big storm I like to put on Sister of Mercy Floodland and listen. 1959 and a rain storm go together. If you like Gothic Rock that is.
  5. Considering you are relatively new to firearms and this is for a carry gun I would go with the M&P. I love my G19 (well I would if the finger grooves weren't "off" for me) but since you have not been around handguns the external safety on the M&P and the fact that you don't have to pull the trigger to take it down might do you better. Yes the gun stores in Memphis are highway robbers and you are likely to get robbed just walking from your car to the door at most of them. If you can make it out to Hero Gear I would do it. That being said, I would go handle them both to see which one fits your hand better and if there is a range in the area that rents either of them then do that.
  6. I feel left out. I haven't gotten one, unless the wife took care of it for me. If that is the case, I will have to kiss my wife again for not burdening me with crap mail.
  7. I don't like all the "Fill er up with Sunoco Fuel" and "Put 4 fresh Goodyears on her" and all of that crap. I think they get just as good sponsorship with product placement. How many times did they pit? How many Sunoco fuel cans did you see? How many times did you see the Goodyear logo? Sprint - you want more air time? Sponsor Jimmy Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhart Jr. or Kyle Busch. Same goes for the rest of the shameless plugs. P.S. You are Claritin Clear to drive.
  8. Interesting, a pretty big boy cannot conceal the 92FS? You should not expect to get anything more than you paid for it in a private transfer. I know that my black one was purchased for around $500 after tax and check. If I were to sell it to a private individual I would expect to get at most $400 out of it since it is used and shows wear from being holstered. For the stainless, unfired, I would expect about $500. This is a very important lesson - never buy something to carry that you haven't tried on.
  9. The problem with the justice system in this country is that punishment is neither swift or appropriate. Once being convicted by a jury of your peers you should have your sentence handed out immediately with the terms available. If it is death then the date should be set with in a reasonable amount of time that a normal person can get their affairs in order (transfer of property, wills etc.) Do life insurance policy's pay when a person is sentenced to death?
  10. I just can't get past the trigger being in front of the chamber. I don't know but I get stuck on that every time. Looks interesting though.
  11. Between that and the Kyle Busch race on Saturday I am really getting tired of NASCAR.
  12. I guess since I have sent several emails to him regarding Jimmy Naifeh I have ended up in his contact list. Anyway, here is the email that was sent to me. The word LEGALLY was capitalized by him so I wonder if this means he thinks like many other people do?
  13. Well, due to my fantasy racing team I was happy since Johnson won, but when Kenseth's tire blew I was pissed. I too cannot believe that goodyear brought that crappy tire.
  14. unfortunately, the percentages that he speaks of are not that today. All too often we hear on the news about a shooting be it accidental or intentional. Then again, if the fed didn't make us go through so many hoops to carry the device intended to protect us then you might not hear as many reports.
  15. Well, since no will and testimony led to the exchange of ownership there is no "paper trail". Should they have gone through an FFL? Probably since 2 states were involved. IANAL though so you might want to talk to one of them.
  16. Exactly. A conservative SCOTUS with a split congress (house and senate) means less gets done.
  17. Depending on the crime, it looks like I would move to Kentucky or Vermont.
  18. My wife and I were trying to find a baby sitter for the kids for a few hours a day a couple days a week. We were willing to pay $8 an hour (obviously above the minimum wage) to watch our children in our air conditioned home with directv and the kids would be napping for half the time they were here. The girl said - my other families pay me $10 and it wouldn't be worth it for me to "drive all the way out there" (we live about 2 miles from her house) for less than that. Told her thanks and have a nice day. Is it unacceptable for people to be sitting on their duffs while illegals come in to this country and pick fruit etc for 5 an hour? Nope, not in the least. The jobs are out there. Unemployment is still lower than it has been in a long time. I see fast food joints hiring all the time. May not be great money, but it's money none the less. If I were to lose my job today, I would be at the local McDonald's tomorrow just to keep some money coming in while I looked for a real job. Then again I could always just start stealing. Oh, and the price of gas here? Think about Europe where it is close to $8 a gallon - and the majority of that is taxes. Complain all you want, we still got it pretty good. Oh yeah, a gallon of milk is still more than a gallon of gas.
  19. Agreed- even if they were in uniform I would have asked for a copy of their report, a case number this was being assigned to and a receipt for all of the items that they took. That being said, I too don't agree with an officer "investigating" in my home with out a warrant. I will be more than happy to step out side and speak to you. Anyone in my home can step out side and speak to you. You may not enter.
  20. What flat, round and no one likes the stink once you open it?
  21. Let see from the ATF: http://www.atf.treas.gov/firearms/faq/faq2.htm#b9 from FedEx.com
  22. Your rifles from California - go out there for a visit and then ship them to your self.
  23. California is INSANE. How is this going to stop the illegal gun shipments from Mexico and other states? It won't. Only more red tape for law abiding citizens. More reasons NOT to move there.
  24. No worries, it's still funny.
  25. Good one though it is a repost: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8853&highlight=Post+Turtle
