  1. Exactly. It is a capitalistic market... I get it... just not so in your face!!!
  2. Can you use a Dillon as a Single Stage? I do understand that extreme quality precise rifle loads are done hand by hand and one at a time. The single stage has it's value for sure!
  3. Well, with 3 of us shooting, and we shoot a fair bit... I can ONLY see a progressive in my shop...
  4. But does it or does it not shoot in an M1? That's my point.
  5. I've got a fair amount of pistol and rifle primers I bought a while back anticipating doing this last year. I really need powder and bullets.
  6. Sorry... lots of this stuff floating around for many years... I never fired any from my M1 Carbine.  http://www.survivalistboards.com/showthread.php?t=101803
  7. I mean seriously... I also think people over react to the "corrosive" thing too. I always cleaned my guns well after using any of that old stuff and no issues ever. It's not like its a watergun and we are shooting battery acid through it. Millions of round of Garands, M1 Carbines, etc fired tons and tons of rounds of corrosive US stuff...
  8. I've been buying this stuff in spam cans since the 90's. How much more surplus can there really be? .19 cents a round right now in this crisis... not too bad...
  9. I banned that overpriced Barrett fanboy shop... The day I walked in there and they had Pmags for $60 with a pencil line drawn through $16 price tag, I walked right out.
  10. Supposedly you can can still visually inspect on the progressive loaders. From what I know, it takes way longer to reload using a single stage. I figured, buy once cry once.
  11. Yeah, see I am watching the videos and it does not seem hard at all... It seems like one of those things where you just need to take your time and be diligent with your QC checks.
  12. David do you sell reloaders or just supplies?
  13. We shoot a lot, and we like tinkering. I am not trying to come out ahead really, if I could break even I would be happy. I just don't want to have to go out and hunt for the " good deal". I am getting more into long range shooting. We already have a chronograph and this is the next step. I am looking at the LNL by Hornady. Is there a reputable dealer that "we" support as a community in Nashville? I try to keep it local if I can. But if it's like Franklin Gun is, I mail order... screw that.
  14. Ive been kicking the idea around for a while now about doing it for 9,40, and .223. I think I have narrowed it down to a Dillon 650 or Hornady system. I've been reading online guys suggesting that you must read book after book after book to understand reloading. Is it not just as simple as buy a well known progressive reloader and do the following?   Clean the cases well Make sure the primer is seated correctly   Measure and inspect cases for cracks and trim as needed Be very careful with powder loads Be very careful about overall length and bullet depth?   Or amis my mechanically inclined brain getting getting too cocky for my own good?
  15. That is a fact... I have seen a family of 3 on a regular basis. The first time they tried to lie to Walmart " no, we are all different households"... the manager asked for ID from all of the for legal age of purchase.... He said hmmmm... all of your address's match. BUSTED... That was in Winter Haven Florida. I was tickled pink. They could only buy 1 525 box that day, because of the new bulk policy. Instead of 8!
  16. And on the flip side, these extreme hoarders better have a gun pointed on every degree of a circle... because when it comes to food, people will overtake them like there is no tomorrow. These extreme hoarders on TV who brag about having 1-2 years worth of food and " by God I got my AR ready for anybody who tried to take it"... well, when scavengers moving in packs of 20-30 busting down doors comes... hope you can reload fast. I try not to think that paranoid. Many 3rd world countries are living and they have it way worse than us. I just trust in God.
  17. He was wrong in my opinion. HE pulled in behind the other guys, HE got out of his "extension of home", HE aggressed the other guys, and finally for me, HE shot at guys running away... how does that look when he shoots a guy in the back that was running? Granted I know there are a million scenarios, what if they were running to get another weapon or whatever... that is different. They were running because they just beat the crap out of a guy and they don't want to get caught...I think the best thing to do is not get pissed and mind your business.
  18. Everybody is wrong here, but the dude that was the aggressor got his ass beat down. Little to late to be pulling a gun on a fleeing suspect... the judge will ask " were you in immediate or immanent danger for your life or your wife's?" And that answer is NO... Now, if he's stopped at a red-light after a little rage, and the two guys got out, and stormed his vehicle, that changes the story 100%..
  19. Yes, I have seen it for $225/1080 round spam cans.
  20. I don't even see .223 listed or find it on their search feature
  21. Was looking at some of their ad's online. Good prices. They are in Bean Station. Good folks? Bad folks? Just curious before I mail order..
  22. Really? for just the brass? NOWHERE is it sold for that. I got some from a gunstore that knows be as a regular and they cut me a hell of a deal at .44 cents a round... That's $440 per 1,000.... not sure thats a smoking deal, but you can't buy it for that. Wally Mart has 420 round loose 5.56 for .42 cents ... when you can get it.
