  1. Almost all of the lead in ammo is imported according to a recent article online. Should not make much difference.
  2. As promised. Found another big stash.
  3. Walmart in Chattanooga would NOT sell my wife and I our 3 boxes of ammo per customer. They said we are a group and would not sell us each our allocation. Manager came by and said they are trying to put a stop to the hoarders and families buying everything up. I like their idea, but it came at honest peoples expense.
  4. I agree with the other post.... Put it out randomly... For what little inventory ammo is, they could easily do it. They post the time they put it out at Murfreesboro.... That doesn't help.
  5. I can't tell you the last time I saw a big bulk pack of federal .22lr in a walmart.
  6. My mistake. .63 is still good for .300 BLK though I would say.
  7. That's how the system, works... that is what keeps it in check. Walmart buys at wholesale, sells at resell, carnie resells higher than retail, gun store sells above carnie "retail"... that ammo has been through 3-4 times by the time the end user buys it. This is what gives capitalism a bad name for the libs... however, in the end, it is short term gain. The low hanging fruit does not grow back fast enough. Eventually it will come full circle. Thats why I am patient, and don't stand in the lines at Wally.
  8. I almost took a picture of it, but was just happy to get some .308.... The Walmart in Nolensville has had it at that a few times. I do not shoot .300, but that caught me off guard too.. Ok.... I just asked the wife, because I made the comment that it was a good buy but I did not shoot it. She has informed me that I am old and need new glasses... she swears it was more than .50 a round... she said it was .63 a round.. not .36 . Either way, It shocked me that .300 was on the shelf for one, and it was not a buck a round also. Sorry I had told you guys wrong.
  9. The first guy to show up brought the Walmart guy a pie from somebody he knew. It was like they were either related or knew each other very well. Although a nice gesture, and I am sure it was legit based on the " this is from Nelly" or whatever... I am 100% convinced that the Walmart ammo is a corrupt deal. I am sure it is. I have seen so much sketchy stuff in walmart ammo sections. I am just not that desperate. Don't need it.
  10. Wally has .300 for .36 a round right now. Saw a ton of it on the shelves.
  11. It is not worth the wait for me either... I always kept enough in stock. Now here is something interesting... A major gun store in the Nashville area told me this in July or so .... " we buy from the trusted Walmart folks because we can't even get it". I am sure that they still do too. So what that means is the Gypsy has to mark it up some for the gun store to tack some on to that, then making it more expensive. I hate to say it, but the people who shop in this particular place don't mind over paying. I swear I think people who shop in these places don't have internet and don't know what market value is.
  12. Was at Wally world picking up some other stuff. I swung buy the sporting goods, picked up a few boxes of 7.62x39. I noticed they were on 2 different shelves. Whats the difference between the 7.62x51 regular and M1A? As far as I know, it is safe to shoot 7.62x51 in a .308 gun but not the other way..... which is exact opposite of the .223/5.56 thing right? Somebody educate me here on this regular 7.62 and M1A stuff..
  13. I have enough contacts to show " legit business" to have the FFL. It's a hobby. It's fun, and I just need to justify some legitimate business. That's why. I'm not trying to change occupations.
  14. The problem is, the Carnie Gypsy resellers are 20 long in line. The guy straight up said " only 4 boxes". And the all left but about 5 guys. They are putting it out at 8:30 and this was at 6:30. That is insane. I refuse to participate. One guy tried bribing the guy and the worker turned it down. I'm glad I'm not trapped in that. I hope they all go to jail for not paying tax on their profits they make. Sickening to folks like us who actually shoot!
  15. Now that the emails work, I got one while on the computer 3 days ago and it was out immediately...
  16. My duty glock has a chrome slide... Well, almost.. 1/2 the coating is worn off.... But then again, it's got 18,000 rounds through it!!! It's on barrel 2 right now.
  17. What's the story on this "kwik" guy? Didn't catch that?
  18. Explain that? Battle pack?
  19. They were extremely reasonable when they first opened.. like the 1st day. They had ammo at .60 a round, vs $1 a round like everybody else... the next day, I went back for more, and the owner got snotty with me and said he sold it to me too cheap... it was $1.25 a round the next day.... So they are like every other gun store... over priced. I can't see them staying in business.
  20. Everything or Anything weapons... whatever their dumb name is in Brentwood has 500,000,000 rounds f .22lr.... they have it. Of course they want $65 for a bulk pack of 500... but they do have it. I ordered 2000 rounds at pre panic prices from Gander Mountain 2 nights ago. The Carnival workers are still camping Walmarts and going to flea markets though... So Wally Mart is still hit or miss depending on the Gypsy's
  21. One thing that I have never understood is the carry without one chambered theory. You don't have time, and you may not have the use of your non dominate hand.... after all, if you need to pull it, good chance you are fighting somebody right??? Even if they grabbed your hand to control you... much less have a round in your shoulder etc. The other is the time issue. So, from a physical or mental standpoint, you need one in the pipe. Which brings me to my next opinion. If you are too nervous or not confident enough to carry a block or 1911 cocked, you need more range time walking around, maneuvering with the weapon. Go build confidence. The damn things don't just go off. Now that you are confident enough to walk around Lowes with it cocked and locked, stop pushing it "back in the holster". You look obvious and it's not falling out..
  22. OK. So you think living in an extremely populated 500 home subdivision with a liberal HOA . That makes all the difference in the world. The HOA goes to the zoning, 300 people pissed that there is going to be a "gun dealer" in their 500 home subdivision..... that is what I was in reference to. I do not live where there is a home owners association to shut me down. I have a safe, I have a dedicated room, a safe, tons of cams, security already. I don't have kids, etc. I have been reading a good bit about this topic recently. When I called them a couple of years ago, they said the interview is as much of them instruction you, judging your real purpose and intent, and making sure you have a good way to secure them.  I already have a business , so it sounds like my next move is to go to zoning and bring my titanium knee pads and beg to death. I do not have a liberal county. I know 2 FFL's in Sewanee TN that say dealing with the liberal Franklin County is a real bitch. Thanks for your input everybody.
  23. Skimming through another board... Not even a safe is required... Just "properly stored" ... That's insane I'd have a safe, cameras, and security. Anyway, it can be run out of the house with no mods needed. You are right. I am in the country, so I stand a better chance at getting ok'd
  24. My firearms instructor can fire a milspec junk trigger that fast...
