  1. I just bought 2000 rounds at gander mountains website for pre panic prices... This is a good start.. http://www.gunbot.net/ammo/rimfire/22lr/
  2. Was thinking of doing some FFL stuff on the side... I have done a lot of research on the process... just curious if anybody has done it... was it really as big of a pain as people want you to think?
  3. There is capitalism and there is profiteering. Two different meanings.
  4. I got an email flyer from DPMS asking to go check out their deals at CTD. I replied back, I can't support you or CTD for their gouging and $3 per round .223. DPMS is of my list if good guys too.
  5. This year at the Franklin Ag center show, at the height of " all guns are worth gold in panic attacks"... Some idiot shot an AK47 into his trunk, and got in his car and drove off. He bailed before he even got to the point of getting in line. Once we were in line, the guy right in front of us checked his "trade bait" revolver in at the desk. To all of our surprise, his .44 magnum was fully loaded. I'm done with gun shows. It's all over priced and the people there muzzle sweep and "click" triggers WAY too much. It's too nerve wracking.
  6. Dang right. Bf3, soon to be 4
  7. Ok, months after the panic, why is it still unavailable??? Do idiots need 500,000 rounds in their cache?
  8. There are cheaper places out there... I will pass but thanks.
  9. Now is when I remember how bad they took advantage and gouged people. Yeah, they can charge what they want, and people paid... but desperate people are fragile minded... screw CTD
  10. New virgin lower. I'm honest, and don't want to break any laws. I think I've got my answer. Thanks guys!!!
  11. Trying to decide if I want to build the upper or buy one... I don't want to end up with a really out of timed bolt release or be over gassed.
  12. They seem neat, and I will try one just for fun. But I want to be able to go back and forth too... obviously not SBR'ing it... but keep the lower useful if I get tired of it..
  13. "3. Federally, a virgin lower may be built as rifle or pistol. If it is built as a pistol first, it can go back and forth between pistol and rifle. If it begins life as a rifle, it must forever stay a rifle. This applies to used lowers also, btw, whether you know their history or not."   That right there is a flag... red flag... If I don't have to declare rifle or pistol upon check, then how the heck do they know it can't go back to a pistol from a rifle? See my point... If a receiver is just that, then how is it illegal to go one way but not the other... I don't want to argue, I just don't want to be in violation either...
  14. OK.... copy, thanks
  15. Both FFL's I have done lowers through have asked me "rifle or pistol" on this.....  why would they both adamantly ask me prior to the form? I think it has to be one or the other...
  16. Support anybody but the UAE .... They are crap. I saw a guy eat a slide that came off the back and got him... they are dangerous weapons.... to the user too.
  17. The ATF has refired their quest to stop the AR's the best they can. I have been reading on several other sites that guys keep up with and watch the progress of laws. Anyway, in Tennessee, is it as simple as buying a lower, and when you pick it up at the FFL, have them register it as a pistol instead of a rifle? Thanks guys.
  18. As I just bought 1,000 rounds of .223 brass new (not reloaded) for $298... which is what I paid for it 2 years ago...
  19. Well, I have thought a lot about this.... and I strongly believe that my purchasing rate and amount has not changed (other than I cant get it)... what has changed, is paranoid people and profiteers who normally never buy it making a living gouging people.... Supply and demand... capitalism at it's worst... unfortunately. I am a firm believer of capitalism, but it has a nasty side to it too..
  20. I have a secret Walmart that I have found very consistent when they set ammo out. They have quite a structured system as to who is "next in line". I noticed that a few of the asshole regulars (guys who brag about profiteering) were not there.... but nor was the ammo. The rat bastards were stopping the shopping cart with ammo right where the doors were to come from storage. Then, they would pay for it in electronics and get out of there. I was so pissed I did not know what to do. I shoot my ammo I buy, or save it. But I dang sure don't sell it. Arrggggg
  21. wife and I snagged 6-100 round value pack 9mm in Murfreesboro...
  22. They post pics on Facebook... But their kit is sweet looking. http://mcbridetacticalgunworks.com/
  23. Yes. Mcbride tactical makes an incredibly nice and complete template and block. Don't think that's what prevents chatter. That's lack of cutting fluid and or technique that does that usually. Guess the 80% won't happen.
  24. Don't think so yet... Sheesh... AR15 parts half cut in half almost... Do we think .22LR is coming back to being more available??
  25. I got stern with them, requested money back.... they called a fe days later and delivered.... Other than taking 4 months longer than they said, good folks..
