Place in Summertown rents one...Eagle Eye range. I haven't actually been there yet, they opened earlier this year, but have talked to a few people that have gone. I think its a 500 yard range.

I bought that same scale, it is a piece of shit...turn it on and calibrate, weigh one powder charge and loses calibration. I bought it to use instead of my beam scale for a bit faster pace and have never been satisfied so it sits in a drawer now. The RCBS 505 is what I use, great scale but at $80 or so it isn't exactly budget (depends on your budget I guess). I have read good reviews of the Lee safety scale but it is only a 100 grain scale. Hornady also has a balance beam scale, a bit cheaper than the RCBS one.

It seems that some Walmarts carry lizard litter but not all. Like Mike said,Petco/Petsmart or similar store.

Yeah I know...I love Craftsman tools. I've only used the warranty a couple of times and they do stand behind their product warranty.

Finally finished!! What a pain in the ass. Was are to get the filter off, the filter did not appear to have any oil on the gasket and it had stuck. Anyways, much thanks to Luke for the impact chisel idea. It did not knock the filter off, but obviously loosened it some as after a few minutes I switched back to filter pliers and the filter band wrench - two people, top and bottom of the filter and we were able to get it. Worth mentioning that this morning before the impact chisel I broke a heavy duty set of Craftsman pliers. It was one of the 18 inch slip joint, snapped right at the joint. I couldn't believe it snapped those, they are thick. Thanks for all of the ideas. Just glad this is finished and I know the new filter is installed correctly.

Here are a few pics for reference... Not a lot of room. These are through the wheel when and then straight up from the bottom. https://plus.google.com/app/basic/photos/107430393022655485187/album/5926451919414872305?cbp=127ejqutjr5q7&gl=us&sview=23&spath=/app/basic/photos&sparm=cbp%3D50sfuauif9rl%26gl%3Dus%26sview%3D2%26spath%3D/app/basic/stream%26sparm%3Dcbp%253D1573jvcpizrho%2526gl%253Dus%2526sview%253D31

Nope. Ford put it in the most god awful spot.

Looks like I have a couple ideas to try this morning... Going to try and heat it up first and see what happens. I did break the fabric strap wrench, but using a leather belt sounds like an option and I may even be able to pull that through the wheel well.
-
Air chisel - hadn't considered that but the shock affect could help. That is why I had tried the impact wrench earlier with the undersized socket. May check Walmart or Lowes tomorrow, thanks for the idea.

I really think the filter has fused to the engine due to a lack of oil on the gasket. It is the only thing that makes sense, I have put more than enough torque to have broken it free just from being too tight. I will try applying some heat to the top of the canister to free the gasket tomorrow and see what happens.
-
I thought about ripping it off and trying the chisel but was hoping for a simpler option. I did try a chisel right at the top of the canister, beating it to try and unscrew but not a lot of room to get a good swing. Not sure about the water pump pliers, cannot get much of an angle, pretty much a vertical grip is all I can get with the filter pliers, and going in through the wheel well doesn't have room for any leverage.

Been a long ass day...started working on my truck at 10am and just came inside and got cleaned up at 8:30pm. I have a 2009 Ford Ranger with the 4.0 in it. Today I was going to change the shocks and then do an oil change (been doing normal maintenance for about 15 years with my dad and then on my own). Long story short, I got the shocks done and was all excited, 20 minutes left and I will be done with the oil and can go watch football.... and then the oil filter would not come off. I use a K&N filter (http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?prod=hp-2010) that has the 1" nut on the end for easy removal. The problem goes back a couple of months when my water pump went out and I had a local shop replace the pump - they told me they performed an oil change but I never bothered looking at the filter or anything. So today, I go to take the filter off and the nut is stripped out on the filter, it was not stripped when I installed the filter (hand tight plus a turn with the wrench) which means the shop apparently took off my filter and then re-installed it, over torqued to strip the nut. I assume they also did not put oil on the gasket which is why I am having such a hard time too... So a 20 minute job turned into 8 hours and still not done. Due to the nut on the filter, a standard oil filter socket will not fit, filter pliers and vice grips are not working, filter strap is not working (tore the fabric actually), using a smaller socket on the nut and using an impact wrench to try and back it off, and finally - screwdriver through the filter with a ton of leverage to try and force it. Filter is still stuck. I tried using this 3 legged filter removal tool - the legs are not long enough to get a grip because of the filter nut http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/OEM-3-legged-oil-filter-wrench-for-imported-and-domestic-cars/_/N-25ra?itemIdentifier=114009_0_0_ Does anyone happen to have one of the below tools that I could borrow? None of the local stores carry them, and it would be Monday late afternoon if not Tuesday before they could have one available. The truck is not drive-able since the filter is punctured and oil has been drained. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_3-8-drive-oil-filter-wrench-3-1-8-to-3-7-8-lisle_25981260-p?searchTerm=oil+filter+wrench OR Similar to the tool I have tried but the legs appear to be a lot longer. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_oil-filter-wrench-3-leg-otc_17631694-p?searchTerm=oil+filter+wrench Does anyone have any other ideas I could try? I thought about trying to heat up the filter, but don't want an open flame and I don't have a heat/soldering gun. My fiance has a professional salon hair dryer, do you think it would get warm enough to help? The way Ford built these trucks, room is limited to try and use some tools or get enough leverage. The filter is vertical if that matters and I am in Columbia. I will be online for another hour or so and then up working on this in the morning. Thank you for anything you may offer!!

I blame Siri... Almost every one of those is an iPhone. The various android keyboards are pretty damn good about correcting stuff correctly.

I'm ready for my daughter to get big enough to help me sort through my brass...still have a few years though. I have a few hundred rounds of each pistol loaded, and supplies to load a few hundred more. I haven't shot my pistols much lately, but I usually replace what I shot plus one box. I have been reloading my 30-06 a lot, working different loads for accuracy. I usually do batches that I plan to shoot for the weekend, but my target rounds I will load up as time allows and let them sit. Last night I loaded about 50 rounds, 20 of which are test #2 of a Sierra GameKing load that I shot last week - 5 shots in 1.3 inches, best 3 were 0.6 inch spread.

I have looked at the Nikon app but haven't bought it. I found Strelok a few months ago, it is a ballistics app but I haven't used it very much. My limited usage, it works well. You specify your caliber, scope, and cartridge info. Has a diagram for holdover and windage, chart for drop, etc. Pretty cool app for free!

I meant to also say in my post above...just because a company policy is no weapons in the premises, that does not mean everyone there is a gun hating lib. SB should not be considered any differently IMO. They are a business, trying to stay out of the fight and make money by selling their product.

I normally stay out of these posts, enjoy sitting back and laughing at all the nonsense I read. But...for all the people who talk about boycotting Starbucks since they are infringing on your rights (even though it is a clear REQUEST to leave them out of the politics involved and a REQUEST to not open carry in a method that could invoke fear), are you also going to quit your jobs tomorrow? Most companies have a policy that prohibits weapons on the premises. The actual building may not be posted but when you accepted the position you acknowledged you would follow the company policy. Therefore they are now infringing on your constitutional right and you should gibe up your job and boycott said company. Obviously this is a ridiculous thought and no one is going to quit their job. So how is the request by Starbucks to leave them out of the gun discussion, and for the nutjobs who carry long arms into their establishment to cease any less ridiculous? As for the posts about how open carry can incite fear...I agree it can. I also agree that open carry is a decision for each person to make and I respect it. I have a neighbor who open carries a Sig 226 everywhere. When I first moved into the area, the way he acted while OCing did cause me some unrest even though I knew I could defend myself if he ended up being a strange character. If I had seen someone carrying a shotgun or AR around the neighborhood I would have been even more concerned.

I use a cut up dryer sheet as well, but it is more for dust IMO. I'm not sure what the polishing affect of the sheet is.

I use a capful of Nu Finish in my walnut media, works very well. I'm not sure how it compares to Flitz, but I'm of the impression flitz is more abrasive.

It will all depend on pricing for me, but if I get the lower/upper this will be my first build and first AR platform (I shoot my neighbors all the time though). I had planned on buying like a RRA or DPMS by the end of this year but would love to build and customize my own. I have started shopping around for parts, even a complete upper, so I have an idea of prices but still not sure of everything I would need to purchase. And I would certainly like to find someone in the area I could perform the build with (I don't have any of the tools obviously). Will see how it plays out but I'm excited.

How many of us in Columbia reload? Maybe we could do a group buy from David, beats us driving individually to meet him or paying to get in at a guns how just for his booth. Hell, for that matter how many of you have I met at the Maury County range and not known?

Lap top crash, need tech support from the TGO gurus

If you were closer I would help you out... Since safe mode, last known good config aren't working then an alternative boot method is the next step. If you can get the Windows 7 startup repair to launch you can get into a command prompt, otherwise create a boot cd or flash drive as posted. -
I've never found a good deal at Kings, never walked out the door with anything in my hands either. Even before Sandy Hook I thought their prices were on the high side (I have passed on their used/abused pistols and bought the same one new from a different store for $15 more, more than one time). But, it is nice to have multiple local options and some competition, even though I won't go into half of the local shops personally. Speaking of local options, Gary at Lock and Load is working a deal with some people to start carrying some reloading supplies, I'm not sure when though. I was talking to him about 2 weeks ago at the range.

Turn the computer on, start tapping F8 and try to boot into Safe Mode. The blue screen you posted seems to be a missing boot file, driver, or hardware issue. Due to the event timing/circumstances you listed, I would say a missing or corrupt file. Or just coincidence that a hardware issue occurred (memory or video card most likely culprit). -
I love free brass............................

I found about 20 pieces a couple weeks back. Stupid me threw them out but if I find more will save them. 20 obviously isnt much but its something.
