I have a red dot on my turkey gun but could not imagine trying to shoot a quick flying target with one. I suppose geese may not be too bad, but even with turkeys a fiber optic sight is quicker to acquire.

That is a beautiful rifle. Congrats.

I considered buying that but am being patient and waiting for the $399-$425 complete upper with BCG and CH that they have every few weeks. I missed out on a deal last week, think it was Wednesday when they had it. But I grabbed a blem PSA Magpul lower before they sold out.

I wouldn't mind a set with 3 or 4 tines on each antler. I've been wanting to make my own antler lamp and convinced the wife I could make an antler wall sconce but I'm a couple antlers short and haven't seen a small 6 point to shoot yet this year.

Great game! Loved seeing Bama get beat. Couldn't believe they tried that long FG, but I'm sure it was considered 'safe' - miss and go to OT or get lucky and win. I sure didn't see a 109 yard return coming.

It has been a couple of years since i hunted over water (pond on a farm) but I typically saw deer drink between 7:30 and 9:00 am. I never saw any come drink in the afternoon, but there was water on the neighboring farm. IMO, better off hunting over food than trying over water.

Gamestop and several other stores had BF4 on sale for black friday, $25. I picked it up for PS3 and wish I had gotten it sooner.

I do pretty much all my shopping online, or I wait until late Friday afternoon to go out. I bought a PSA blem Magpul lower this morning (PSA had some great deals), and today around 4:00 will probably run out to town to look at a couple of stores. There was nothing I had to battle a crowd for so I just wait until the crowds are gone and then go in and still claim a couple of deals.

Agree with Slappy, I love watching the world wake up around me in the morning. I will hunt either time, but I used to avoid afternoons for some reason I never really figured out. I tend to hunt woods in the morning and field edge in the afternoon is my only hunting pattern.

Truck said 14 degrees for us this morning too. Went with my FIL and a friend out to the farm, I saw 4 deer and put two of them on the ground (does). Had a group of three walk up behind me at 7:00 and dropped one, was waiting and fixing to climb out of my stand to gut her when another doe came up in front of my at 7:50. Broadside shot at 60 yards, I couldn't pass on it. My FIL put a doe on the ground too so we had three to take care of today. It was a cold day but the deer were moving! -
I live I town, so do my processing in the garage. Have a hanger that go into my truck receiver and has a winch built-in to it. I bag the carcass and take it to the dump or throw it out in a field down the road if the dump is closed. Coyotes and the like dispose of it quick.

Dropped a doe this morning, was back home by 7:30. Started out a as a busted hunt, first time heading to the farm i hunt with my father in law this year, walked out the ridge towards the ladder stand and....it was gone. I walked around for 20 minutes looking, knew i was in the right spot due to some landmarks, including a piece of tin sticking out of the ground that isn't going to move. Finally stopped and stood next to a tree waiting for daylight, still couldn't spot the stand so was debating heading to the stand over the field when i spied a doe walking up over the edge of the ridge. She stopped about 50 yards away and i dropped her, walked over to her and found the stand. FIL moved it to the opposite side of the ridge and wrapped camo netting all over it. :-) -
I have looked at that Bushmaster but the carbon fiber receivers pushed me away. Still that is about the best price I remember seeing recently for that model, especially with the free mags.

I am really tempted to order one. Wish I had filed for a C&R license earlier this year to avoid going through a dealer. If these remain in stock for a while I may just grab my first Nagant. Otherwise I'll wait and watch Black Friday sales from a few places.

For anyone else who visits, the Zoo is incredible. Much better than Nashville and it is free to get in. I had heard/read it is one of the top in the country, not sure since I've only visited a few, but they have a bunch of species including a few I had not seen live before. The Union Station mall was neat - kind of small store selection but The Fudgery was worth the visit. Changed our plans a bit so heading to the City Museum and Busch tour tomorrow. Staying out of East St Louis, but still heard some gun shots downtown. Stopped at a red light yesterday, 4 shots (sounded like a 9mm) and a couple guys came running around an apartment complex. We took out quickly...

Electronic Express usually starts their sale at least the day before. That is how I got my last TV. For the most part, most retailers sale prices are valid online so you could buy and then go pick up later. I do almost all of my shopping online the past few years and skip the crowds.

A Veterans day message from me, and a request from Veterans.
TNMTBik3r replied to a topic in General Chat
No pics available right now, but I have a lot of vets in my family. My uncle has a purple heart and bronze star from 'Nam. Father and Grandfather served in the Army and other various relatives served at some point. I never enlisted myself, I strongly considered it but instead went to work. A huge thank you goes out to all who served anf families of those who have served! -
I've been to Cabelas, figure they are all mostly the same but may go if we have time. Wanted to go to Grants Farm but website says they closed last week for the winter. I had heard mixed reviews on the city museum from a few friends but I think we are going to stop there. But skipping the aquarium... I knew there were several cathedrals around, not my think but she would like to get some pics. And the mall - of course she wants to shop :-) Thanks for the ideas!

I'm in St Louis this week, is there anything that is a must do - attraction or food. On our honeymoon so not everything is for me... Staying in Maryland Heights so on the west side of the city. Already spent a while at the Arch today. Tomorrow we are considering the zoo depending on weather, botanical garden for her, and the Anheuser Busch brewery tour. Also looking for some good BBQ! On Thursday am running over to Sedalia and stopping at Sierra Bullet Co. for the tour and some bullet seconds.

Best the campaign, I didn't really time it right today but took around 4.5 hours I think total. Campaign had some really nest stuff like underwater and space levels. Played online for am hour, and now am bored with the game and had to shut it off. Multiplayer just didn't grab me with this one but will try again tomorrow.
-
I played almost 4 hours last night on campaign, I always best campaign then go online. Will finish it and be online tonight on ps3. Pretty good game so far, campaign seems to be a bit longer than the previous titles but not positive.

Picking it up tomorrow after work for ps3.

Thanks, entered. I have a FB account strictly to enter giveaways and this is a great one.

Yikes, glad it wasn't' worse. I really hate how you have to pull the trigger to take down most of the striker fired pistols. My Ruger you do not have too, but on my Smith you do. The manufacturers are throwing safety out the window with this 'feature' - what happened to don't touch the trigger unless you mean to shoot....

6 People signed up for ACA on Day 1
TNMTBik3r replied to Hozzie's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Hard to sign up when the site is down. Most want 99.99xx% uptime, ACA website has about 99.9999% downtime from what I can see. I did get an account created finally but still can't get through anything to see my actual prices, not going to take the insurance was just curious. The estimates that were finally posted (link on the main site page) are higher than what I am eligible for through my employer (which almost doubled on me for the same coverage).
