I gotta agree with Musicman. It's kinda like putting fuel injectors and a digital dash in a '57 Chevy. I guess some would have a specific use for it. I would put it in the FN 5.7 realm. Can't decide if I like it or hate it.

Used to live fairly close and never had any problems. However, public parks signal an alertness in me no matter where they are. They tend to be hangouts for some sort of riff raff, no matter where they are. I used to take breaks in parks in Brentwood and Belle Meade and while some company is more desirable than others, I still saw my share of questionable people. My general advice, stay away from bathrooms no matter where you are....even armed.

I try to spot some and some are easier than other's. The "vest" is about the worst concealment I can think of for tell signs. I been in some less than desirable areas and have spotted some tells not mentioned above. Rabbi I'm sure, can tell us about these unmentioned signs.

For an XD get the TruGlo TFO's. They are super bright in day or night and are very easy to see. They helped my cross eye dominant problem a lot during daytime shooting. I agree night sights are pretty useless unless, you're LE or something of that nature where you might use them, but for most of us night shooting is a recipe for lawsuits. Laser's are fun, but like the guy I had next to me with one, he couldn't hold the laser steady enough to hit any better than iron sights. IMO they take just as much practice to "learn".

All I can say is Wow! Got an e-mail referencing this thread and took me a minute to figure out it was about me! I can't tell you how much I appreciate you guys. As an update I'm finally able to walk (limp) without crutches, but the gash on my shin left some nerve damage (can't feel my shin) that is taking quite a bit of work to get straitened out. And wouldn't you know that I just found out most insurance companies (mine evidently) don't cover automobile accidents. What's the point of all the premiums then? I'll be getting a pretty good settlement in a few months, but I have to wait for all the doctor's work to get done first. In the mean time it is all out of pocket and it started getting tight. Kinda of a catch 22, I can't get the money I need till I pay everything first with the money I don't have! The biggest blow was that I was supposed to start the police academy June 2nd. That won't be happening now and worse yet I have to reapply to make the October class! The Wonderful world of beaurocracy. Actually the PF9 has a really nice trigger for a DAO compared to the P-11. It is still long but smooth and crisp.
