  1. None. a one time test doesn't mean anything anyway and if that is the case then it will be short order for mandatory continuing education for permit holders. I don't think it should be any different than for a drivers license, since some view it as a privilege. No matter how much "training" is involved you can't teach character or responsibility and mandating training wouldn't do anything in those regards anyway.
  2. Yeah, whats a few extra $20,000 or so....! They sure are nice.
  3. According to this, you are anticipating recoil. http://www.reloadbench.com/pdf/files/TargetRightHanded.pdf
  4. Just wanted to give a big thumbs up for Guns & Leather and their new gunsmith shop. Went to get my new TFO's installed on the XD and got immediate service, while I waited and good conversation to boot. Great addition to an already great store!

    AR lower

Rabbi has a few. I had gotten an Essential Arms lower that was a great value lower from him for my first build. Guns and Leather has several manufactures lowers available. I got one of the Sabre Defense lowers from them and it is very nice! Sorry, here are the links to their sites: http://eastsidegunshop.com/ http://www.gunsandleather.com/

    Saiga 12!!!!

I didn't mention it, but I'm glad you got the Tromix trigger. I had to file done mine in order to get it to work. Not hard just frustrating. Also with the DIY trigger guard, you will have to make a channel on the bottom of the buttstock receiver block to allow it go over the back screw head. I learned that the hard way. Have fun!

    Saiga 12!!!!

Definitely check out Tromix DIY trigger guard kit. $45, but very easy and you don't have to worry about cutting the grip nut hole and it has the safety stop built in. It also looks very good! You can get it from http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=25_37&products_id=233
  8. The definition of a dysfunctional relationship. They ammo and platform don't complement each other and in fact will magnify their deficiencies. The x39 ammo that is available is mostly dirty stuff that will bring out the worst in the AR platform and you won't gain much accuracy benefit, if any. Get a good AK instead if you want to shoot on a budget.
  9. With feral hogs it wouldn't be wasting meat anymore than prairie dogs. Course with hogs there is actually good meat.

    Saiga 12!!!!

That is definitely top notch, I just don't have the dime to drop on all that goodness. The Halo rails look awesome. How are the sights on it? What brake is that?
  11. The problem with a x39 AR is the gas system. Most of the ammo you are going to find is going to be dirtier than the commercial .223, unless you got lots of cash! That is one of the major drawbacks to the AR platform. I would stick with the AK. The "loss" in accuracy of the x39 has more to do with the ammo than anything else. There is very little x39 ammo designed for match type use, unlike the .223. +1 molonlabetn.
  12. I think that is a great idea. Besides it would be great to be able to link to it when all the wannabe AGs start giving their interpretations of the law.
  13. while I agree, in the historical context (which they are using) militia's didn't have artillery, grenadiers, calvary, etc. So I doubt that would survive a ruling.
  14. Except when Reno was keeping the records. When ashcroft tookk over he found out and destroyed the stored records. so yes and no. Legal? I don't think she really cared about that. http://www.nrawinningteam.com/nrasuit.html http://www.iowasportsmen.com/News%20items/ashcroft_blocks_fbi_access_to_gu.htm
  15. It didn't cycle the slide. The casing wasn't bulged or deformed either. It had a lot of black residue on the case however.
  16. Last I looked there were only 95 votes, but it was overwhelming. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2008/06/26/national/w071830D39.DTL
  17. I know it's a cheesy movie but I'm thinking Escape from New York/LA has some good thinking. Maybe we could add Chicago and DC to that since the taxpayers won't have to transport the prisoners too far. Especially in light of the ever narrowing death penalty decisions.
  18. Check out the Heller thread. It is being discussed throughly.

    Swiss Mini Gun

Yeah it's been posted before, but I always like seeing that. As a gun it is useless, but it is a really fascinating piece of craftsmanship.

    Arrogant, period.

He'll have to change the flag to add the extra stars for the states that everyone forgot.....what is it now 56,57,60?
  21. Then don't! This is the AK builder for the x39. He's got some already built up using the Saiga as the base. You can go tactical or a direct clone (AK 103) for your price range. http://www.redstick-firearms.com/firearms2/firearms.html
  22. I was lucky I guess. The round was so weak that it didn't even cycle the slide. It didn't pop just made a weak pfff sound and nothing happened. I hate to think what could have been!
  23. Pardon my internet lingo naiveté, but what is CYA?
  24. I'd heard that but I had gotten these form www.streichers.com and were supposed to be the new lots. I had called about it first. I'm pretty sure it was just the law of averages. It's still a good reminder to never assume, whether it be gun, ammo, or whatever.
  25. There was a video a while back where a lady of similar description did the same thing. The result however, was she went out and got her huge boyfriend who came in and beat the poor guy standing in line senseless. I would agree about swallowing the pride and letting it go. Besides it would be hard to not be seen as a contributing factor in a shoot if you did anything to "up" the situation.
