  1.       OP, I'm currently on my second Wilderness Tactical Frequent Flyer belt.  My first one was the traditional 5-stitch unlined version, and it answered the mail for my every day carry (Glock 19 in a Raven Concealment Phantom OWB, with 1 RCS mag pouch).  That belt lasted for four years.   I currently use the polymer-lined version of the same belt.  These days I usually carry AIWB (either with my Dale Fricke Archangel or my RCS VG2), and this form of carry with the FF belts requires a little buckle-location shifting.  Still doable, though.    If I was a first-time gun belt purchaser, I'd really look into the Frequent Flyer directly from Wilderness Tactical, follow the sizing method on their website, then order the 1.5" width belt with the polymer lining.  You'll end up with a very strong, lightweight and durable belt that will give you years of service, and won't cost you an arm and a leg, either.   http://www.thewilderness.com/index.php?p=product&id=2503&parent=142   HTH.
  2. If I ever go down the .45ACP route again, here's my choice: Glock 21, Gen4.   Having said that, the last of my many 45's (HK USP Tactical) went to a friend 5 years ago.  I'm now running Glock 9mm's exclusively.
  3. Making a statement versus following through with a course of action.  Worked well for Kennesaw, Georgia back in the day, IIRC.   The "we don't call 911" theme presented here is a little over the top, and unfortunately, something that an eager ambulance-chaser would immediately seize upon.
  4. They had about 500 rounds when I bought the one box.  Their policy, however, was one box/customer/day.  At least that's what the manager said :eyeroll:
  5. If I ever get back into hiking, I'm going with a Glock 20, 10mm Auto, and Buffalo Bore ammo.  Should work for two-legged predators as well as four-legged ones.
  6. I was able to score ONE box of American Eagle in .22LR at the AC in Smyrna last week.  For $2.11, too.
  7. Interesting.  Thanks for showing me the SGAmmo link.
  8. For a 1/9 twist barrel, try the Barnes TSX in 62 grain (or even 55 grain).  Great solid copper round, and available in good loadings from multiple manufacturers (to include Barnes).   Here's a pretty neat hunting thread for the Barnes TSX in 70 grain:    http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=94628   FWIW, I'e never seen a 5.56x45 loading with a soft point round.  I have seen Winchester Ranger/Federal LE SP loads in .223 that are very capable, though.
  9. Interesting. MWR from John Willis, and the holster from John's ex-wife's company. And yet they work together :) I have products from the original company - SOE Gear in Oceanside, OSOE Gear here in TN, and BDS in Oceanside.
  10. I've never bought into the whole "ladies need a good J-frame" argument.  I've also never bought into the whole "strength required to use a semi-auto" argument, either as far as the typical healthy female member of the species is concerned.    Case in point - my 13 year old, 90 pound niece had no issues operating my Gen3 G17 or her grandfather's G19 during an afternoon shoot a couple of months ago.  She was doing so well shooting standard pressure ball that I let her try out a couple of Winchester Ranger SXT's (the 127-grain +P+ loading).  Zero issues.  She loved it.   A perfectly healthy lady can handle just about any major caliber round/semi-auto platform on the market.   Give them training - and opportunity - they will shine.
  11. I've been using Raven Concealment holsters since 2008.   BL: they work (conceal well due to design, are durable due to quality construction, and aren't prohibitively expensive).   Combined with a decent gunbelt (I like Wilderness Tactical's Frequent Flyer with polymer insert), you have a very concealable (and lightweight) CCW setup that'll last for years.   How well do they conceal?  For me (6', 175), I can carry at 4:30 OWB (with a single mag pouch at 8:30) with a t-shirt.    For AIWB, I use both the Raven Concealment Vanguard 2 and the Dale Fricke Archangel.  Both are fine holsters, with the nod to the AA due to being able to easily reholster.
  12. Thanks, everyone.
  13. ^  Agreed.  Hard to beat a Vanguard 2 for concealed carry.  I have no trouble carrying my G19 (or my full-size G17) AIWB with this holster.
  14. I have a 100m zero on my LE6920 for my Micro T-1.   Here's a pretty good read on the subject:   http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=107572   Also, you can use these targets at 25m to obtain your 100m zero:   http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=96955&highlight=100m+target   HTH.
  15. I've got an older Gen3 (LRW prefix) and occasionally get BTF when shooting standard pressure loads.    I've yet to get a BTF when shooting 127-grain Winchester Ranger cartridges.
  16. Late to this party...   Glock 17/19 in a Raven Concealment Systems Vanguard 2 (AIWB) Glock 19 in a Dale Fricke Archangel (AIWB) Glock 19 in a Raven Concealment Systems Phanton (OWB @ 4 o'clock)   I use a single mag carrier OWB on my left hip (just shy of 9 o'clock)   I really like AIWB...having said that, it's not for everyone.
  17. Hello, I'm Spurholder.   I've been a shooter for the last 25+ years, and just found this site today.  Looking forward to being a part of a more local-info site community!   Best,   SH
