I have the Omega 7.0 rail on my 6920. Were I buying again tomorrow, I'd probably pick up one of these: https://www.centurionarms.net/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.product_details&flypage=carbine-cutout.tpl&product_id=79&Itemid=177 Is there a particular reason that you want to run the longer rail? I considered going with an X300 at 12 o'clock at one point, but went another route as I couldn't justify the additional weight.

The single output has the twist-type as standard. I've got it set for about an ounce or two of pressure for activation. Works like a champ.
-
You're missing a Glock 19. IMHO, everyone should own one.
-
OP, think about this combination: Surefire P2X Fury (Single output) - $109. http://www.lapolicegear.com/sf-p2x-a-bk-tactical.html Combined with this mount: http://www.gearsector.com/view/product/175/ I have this setup on my 6920, with the flashlight mounted at 10 o'clock with the flashlight's head just forward of the front sight base. I can activate the light with the side of my left thumb against the stock pressure switch on the tailcap. It's an easy, foolproof setup for less than $200 shipped and installed. I like 10 o'clock as it negates any shadowing effects from the barrel. You get the light right where you need it - your sights - and as far as I can tell, there are no trade-offs with this setup. YMMV, of course.

Need help with weapon light for home defense
Spurholder replied to a topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Yep. Also, it's virtually the same price as the lower lumen model. http://www.lapolicegear.com/surefire-x300-ultra-light.html -

Help with Weapon Mounted Light
Spurholder replied to Parrothead's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
OP, take a few minutes and read through this. The technical stuff is somewhat dated (e.g., references to specific lumens, etc.), but the TTP's mentioned are still viable: http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=16114\ -
S&W M&P fullsize holsters for outer waistband ?
Spurholder replied to tercel89's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
For OWB, the very best Kydex holster on the market is the RCS Phantom. http://www.ravenconcealment.com/quick-ship-products/production-phantom-holsters/quick-ship-phantom-modular-holster I've been using one since 2008. I've yet to see another OWB that conceals effectively with just a t-shirt. Great piece of gear, and no wait these days. I know guys that waited 3-4 months for theirs not that long ago. -
Most of the .22 I purchased I bought in the afternoon, believe it or not. Academy sells the 40-round boxes of American Eagle for $2 and change.
-
I was able to pick up a couple more boxes of American Eagle .22LR the other day.

Colt LE6920 for me. I agree with the previous poster on clearing rooms. One-man room clearning just plain sucks.

Options for IWB M&P .40 (full size)
Spurholder replied to rugerla1's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
+1 for Raven Concealment Systems and their Phantom OWB. I've had one for my Glock 19 since 2008. It conceals OWB better than most IWB rigs. My usual CCW emsemble (until I discovered AIWB) was the Phantom at 4:30(ish), an extra mag on my belt on my opposite hip, and holding it all up was a Wilderness Frequent Flyer belt. Worked just fine with a t-shirt and shorts in the summer months as it did with more clothing in the cooler times of the year. I've recently gone to AIWB. Right now, my primary holster is the Dale Fricke Archangel, and its alternate is the Vanguard 2 (sold by RCS). I've been carrying my full-size G17 more and more, as full-size guns seem to work (conceal) better AIWB than the mid-size guns (this can be mitigated by say, using a G17 holster with a G19 or a G26). Anyway, HTH. I'm going to pick up a full-size M&P at some point, too. Great guns. -

For everyone's situational awareness: Link Here: http://occupywallst.org/ Excerpts: "The Zimmerman verdict reminds us that in the United States Black life is given no value by the forces of law, order, and property. While #hoodiesup shows a historical force drawn up in opposition, the direction of the protests is still uncertain. Some demonstrators call for a federal civil rights suit, while others draw attention to the larger structural oppression faced by black and poor people. Some want to stay focused on a single vigilante, while others draw the connection to Oscar Grant, Sean Bell, Amadou Diallo, and Rodney King. Some want to ignore the institution of the police, while the rest of us know that Zimmerman is a wannabe cop, and that every cop is a wannabe Zimmerman." “I’m not shocked, I’m outraged.†The murder of a black teen is not the exception, but the norm; we are coming to fists with normal life in America. Hence, #hoodiesup must disrupt the places that sustain this normal: cities, highways, trains, ports, social media—all the flows that compose the false harmony of America. The sit-ins in Pittsburgh and Florida, the marches blocking streets around the country, the highway takeovers in Oakland, LA, and Houston, all share a wisdom: every place that politics and commerce carry on as if nothing has happened is ripe for disruption. Block everything!"

Magpul Gen 3 mags in stock $14.20 at AIM Surplus
Spurholder replied to a topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
If you're a LEO or a .mil guy, set up an account at Brownells. I pay around $12/mag. -
You really can't go wrong with a G19. Personally, I think everyone should own one. For holsters, I prefer Raven Concealment (their Phantom OWB is just about the perfect holster), and Dale Fricke (I use an Archangel AIWB for summertime carry). For belts, the Wilderness Tactical Frequent Flyer is a great belt at a very low price. HTH, and welcome to the world of handguns!
-
Is it just carrying a full-sized handgun? I carry both my Glock 17 and 19 AIWB. No issues with concealment whatsoever. If you want to pick up an ultra-concealable pistol for, say, the atypical non-permissive environment, look no further than the S&W Shield, in 9mm.

Former LWRC M6A1 owner here. I had one of the 1st "Cambridge" guns (s/n was 0000XX). Waited almost a year to get it, too. Pros: well-built, components were of excellent quality, awesome barrel, perfect for the guy that runs SBR, full auto, or a suppressor. Cons: weight (mostly due to the proprietary rail system), lack of wide availability of spare parts (as previously mentioned), and finally - unless you're running a short-barreled rifle, a full-auto rifle, or a suppressed rifle, there really are no advantages of running a piston gun over a DI gun. Unless you consider cleaning to be a big issue. I would've kept it - I really enjoyed shooting it, but a friend of mine really wanted my rifle, so I let him have it. I went back to Colt.

Should I take my AR-15 with me to GSMNP?

Glad everything worked out okay. FWIW, I never go out of town without my -6920 and at least 6-7 PMAG's. -

Extreme Danger: Brady Liberal With A Gun
Spurholder replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I did. I find it very humorous that, once again, the progressives are quoting the Slate.com "by-name victims of gun violence" list. You know, the one with the Boston Marathon bomber AND Christopher Dorner listed as "victims." -
You mean the nitrided 1/8 barrel? Yeah, that was interesting (and I still think S&W's version of Kyle Lamb's VTAC rifle - if it's still offered - is a pretty good deal as well). I like my Colt just fine. Having said that, my next AR is going to be a Daniel Defense Mk18. With a Surefire can.
-
OP, if you can purchase a Colt LE6920 for the price you quoted, buy it. The M&P is an okay rifle, but it's not even in the same league as the Colt. Here's mine: Since this photo was taken, I've added a 200-lumen Surefire at 10 o'clock on the rail using a Gear Sector mount.
