Best (and most copied) holster currently on the market for OWB use: http://www.ravenconcealment.com/holsters/phantom-modular-holsters/phantom-modular-holster/phantom-modular-holster-sig-sauer I've been using RCS gear for 5 years now. Awesome holsters that conceal well.

^ What he said. Everyone should own a G19. Since you've already added sights, one of the best mods I've done to mine was to swap out the entire G19 trigger/trigger bar with one from a G17. This gets rid of the cheese-grater trigger and gives you a nice, smooth one in return. Obtainable from Brownells and other places for less than $20.

Console/ under dash carry inTN ? Legal?
Spurholder replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
IIRC, one of the "lessons learned" from the infamous 1986 FBI shootout was to keep your weapon holstered. Again, IIRC, one of the agents had drawn his wheelgun in anticipation of an engagement, and after the collision between his vehicle and the suspects', the revolver was nowhere to be found. -
BOV? Bicycles. Failing that, leather personnel carriers. And my BOB is a three day assault pack.

Pincus suggests verbally warning home invader

AD = why soldier when you can duck hunt? -
OP, like a couple of others have stated - it's technique, not strength. My 90 pound, 13 year old niece has NO ISSUES running a Glock 9mm. She even likes the Ranger +P+ ammo I let her shoot.

Aimpoint PRO is $400 just about everywhere. It's got a battery life that...well, let's just say your replacement battery won't be made for several more months, if not longer. The PRO's dot is 2MOA, and you can crank up the brightness to make the dot seem bigger if needed. It'll work forever with minimal care. No brainer here.

That thing's a ND waiting to happen.

I saw how much you paid for the M4 Rail, and literally LOL'd when I read this post...

^Yep. Buddy's only half a word.

That's some funny ish right there. Besides, it makes the CSM's nervous when rifles hit the DFAC floor. :pleased:

Yeah, but how many holsters do have sitting in a junk drawer, collecting dust? The Raven will work very well as a range holster, and if the OP ever wants to carry, he'll already have one of the best holsters available. Seems like win-win to me.

I've owned just about every .45, 9mm and .40S&W model that Glock makes over the years. After a decade of trying to find the perfect .45ACP platform for me (HK versus Colt), I gave up and went back to Glock 9mm's. Couldn't be happier. I think everyone should own a G19.

I bought 40 Leupolds from SWFA a decade ago - all VX-III Tacticals or Mark 4's - for use on some M14's that my unit took to Iraq. :usa: They delivered without a hiccup, and those Leupolds held up extremely well. Wish I had taken a picture of what $45,000 or so worth of glass looked like in a stack. Oh, well.

1-6's command top dollar these days. Having said that, 1-5's are coming down. Every heard of SWFA? Their "sample list" has a couple of these in various configurations for a good (not break the bank) price: http://www.samplelist.com/Riflescopes-C3391.aspx#Leupold http://www.samplelist.com/Leupold-15-5x20-Mark-4-MRT-Riflescope-DEMO-B-P63925.aspx HTH, and good luck with your purchase.

Uh, you do know that a Serpa holster is about as dangerous as a black mamba, Bigfoot and a honey badger, don't you?

+1 for the Raven Concealment Systems Phantom. I've been using one for my Glock 19 since early 2008. Don't forget the mag pouch for a spare magazine. Also, don't forget to get a real gun belt. Here's a great one at a great price: http://www.thewilderness.com/tactical-belts/frequent-flyer-belt/ Follow the fitting instructions to the letter, and get the polymer-lined model.

Piston guns excel in the following areas: - Full auto - SBR - Suppressed If you're not doing any of those, the only thing you're gaining is a little less time cleaning your rifle...if you clean it to a spotless level in the first place (I don't). In every other area, a properly built DI gun (from Colt, Daniel Defense, KAC, BCM, or Noveske) will run as well as any piston gun. Don't even get me started about the proprietary stuff... -From a former LWRC M6A1 owner.

Need help with weapon light for home defense
Spurholder replied to a topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
^ People will tell you yes, but if they're the older "incan bulb" models, then not as well as an LED model. You could always drop a Malkoff unit in one or both of them. Having said that, considering that a P2X Fury will run you right at $100, and a 300-lumen G2X Tactical can be had for $66.50 (from LAPG), why not try one out? -
