Poindexters Bait and Tackle here in Gallatin is by far the best around this neck of the woods. They are used by about everyone around. They are located on 109 hwy. When your coming into Gallatin and you cross the river bridge you will come up a long grade and at the top you will see on the left, A boat company, a Tractor place and then Poindexters. Bait store. They are also a checking station and have meat freezers to store your deer for you. They do great archery work and sell a lot of archery supplies.

I am old enough to remember all the changes that took place after Johnson signed the Civil Rights Law into effect. One of the main things I remembered was employment. it became required that any business I think that had more than 25 employees was required to have a certain percentage of Black employees or face big fines. They were given a certain amount of time to comply before the fines would be applied. I knew several small businesses that actually had to lay off the last 2 or 3 people hired and replace them with A Black person. Many times they had to hire a person that was well below the qualification for the position but had to hire to avoid the fines. Heaven forbid if you fired one because they couldn't do the job and that still happens today. Many companies get sued everyday for firing a Black person because they scream discrimination when in reality they couldn't do the job or couldn't get along with fellow employees. Most companies settle out of court in these cases. I never agreed with that part of the bill for a couple reasons. #1 being that when the ads for employment we in the paper seldom did Blacks apply and #2 is companies where required to lay off employees that were qualified to do the job and hire someone not capable of doing the job. It was things like that in the law that put a bad taste in the mouths of both large and small companies alike. I think by the 80's that had pretty well balanced itself out and now since the economy went in the cellar in 2008 it has come back and we seen that the riots that took place back in the days of Civil Rights marches have come back. Thing that isn't the same is the people involved in these riots were not even born during the Civil Rights era. Was this type of thing bred into them?......................

Yea well, I said it back when Obama got elected that he would take us back in time 50 years and it has proven my statement to be correct. All of the advancements made over the last 50 years were wiped out in one election..............jmho

I don't know but you might be able to be charged with vandalism of city property if you do anything to the signs since the signs belong to the city or county..................jmho

I don't think a person trying to deal with his or her sexual preference marries not really knowing where it will lead and others do it because they are ashamed of it and use marriage to hide it but eventually it always comes out............jmho

I was taught as a child and all my life I have been told when any police officer tells you to stop or quit you stop or quit. I have been taught that my entire life and to this very day if A Policeman or Policewoman tells me to stop, STOP is exactly what I do. It is something that was taught to me as a child. Respect Law Enforcement Officers. Now that does not mean that all LEO's are good by any means. The ones that handled this situation did everything wrong and should be punished for their neglect and failure to provide this man due process of medical attention before moving him. I just have faith in the fact 1 bad apple does not make an entire police force rotten. There are more good LEO's than bad.............................jmho

I am in now way attempting to protect the actions of the police with my post. Even a poor trained eye could tell the young man was hurt seriously and EMT's should have been called before he was ever moved. I am almost positive at least one of the officers on the scene should have spotted the victim was suffering a serious problem and chose to ignore it. I was more over trying to make a point of running from the police regardless of what color your skin is would and is not a good idea period................jmho

I guess the riots are going to begin in Baltimore since they say another Black man was killed while in police custody. This time he was not shot but go a broken back and died a few days later in Hospital. I saw this story the morning it broke and the guy went down hard after trying to jump some type of fence while running from the police. The police were on bicycles and he was running. If he was not guilty of anything why was he running? They have yet to explain that but all 3,000 police are on duty on Saturday in full riot gear. If I am not guilty of anything, the last thing I will do is run from the police...............JMHO

I agree with you 1000%. That was very cruel for sure. Had that reporter been white we probably would have had riots over it but that news does not have much if any class at all................jmho

I have sold several handguns and a few long guns recently after my health issues back in December- February and All had a HCP and DL and many were members here. I felt very comfortable with each sale. As far as selling to anyone that is under age 18. I don't think I would go there unless it was a family member or very very close friend............jmho

I only like two brands of Jack Daniels. Old #7 Black and Gentlemen Jack. They can keep all these candy coated junk. If I want a fruit drink of alcohol I will pour a glass of good Black Berry Brandy to sip on in the evenings..............jmho

This is probably an indirect result of many different police departments using the tactic Policing for Profits like they have been doing on several interstates here in Tennessee. Dickson County has been doing is for years and it has made channel 5 news several times. The Drug Task Force was original put out there to stop east bound traffic coming to Nashville until they discovered how much drug money was going west bound. They decided they wanted the money more than the drugs so they began to target west bound traffic and began making millions. Our great Governor said he was going to put a halt to it but has yet to do so. I know this is going on in other counties also. They stopped my son once on his way home for speeding. 72 mph in 70 mph zone and after running his license and insurance they ask him if he objected to a search of his vehicle. He said if you get a warrant you can look till your hearts content. After about 3 minutes they sent him on with no ticket.

I would let the three pups live SH. As they get older they will probably move on anyway. I have a Grey or Silver fox that has taken up residence in the really honey suckle covered fence row behind my house right here in Gallatin and ever so often he comes out in my back yard just about dusk and I get to see him for a couple minutes. he has been around about 2 years or so. We use to have a few stray cats in the neighborhood but they have all gone away so guess the Fox has been eating well. They are beautiful little creatures. Now as for Yotes. I would kill every one I see. They are another story completely.................jmho

Our Idiots: TN DL Extended Past HCP
bersaguy replied to Oh Shoot's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
The only issue I see with that is if you are driving without insurance and get stopped the officer can hold your license and impound your car and that leaves you without your HCP cause the LEO has it. I agree it seldom happens that an officer will do it but he is legally allowed to ticket you and take your license until you appear in court on the ticket and provide the court with proof of insurance......... :ugh: :ugh: :2cents: -
So do you think Chicago will learn from this?
bersaguy replied to E4 No More's topic in General Chat
Those folks don't learn to fast but you can bet it will slow down some of the random shootings into crowds like it has been for sometime now. Now the bad guys don't never know who is packing and what they may get shot with...............Glad to see a citizen step up and do what needs doing.............I give him 3 ...............................   for his actions. -
I would say a 2 years old black bear is going to exceed 100 lbs but things may have been a lot more dramatic had Momma been the aggressor and not one of the cubs. Glad it came out good for you and hope they didn't do a lot of damage to your hives..........

What an Honor I have the distinguished honor of being on the Committee to raise $50,000,000 for a monument to Hillary R. Clinton. We originally wanted to put her on Mt. Rushmore until we discovered there was not enough room for two more faces. We then decided to erect a statue of Hillary in the Washington , D.C. Hall of Fame. We were in a quandary as to where the statue should be placed. It was not proper to place it beside the statue of George Washington, who never told a lie, or beside her husband William J. Clinton, who never told the truth, since Hillary could never tell the difference. We finally decided to place it beside Christopher Columbus, the greatest Democrat of them all. He left not knowing where he was going, and when he got there he did not know where he was. He returned not knowing where he had been and did it all on someone else's money. Thank you, Hillary R. Clinton Monument Committee P.S. The Committee has raised $2.16 so far. Out of date stamps are acceptable. Bus tokens are not. Food Stamps .....maybe. Mexican passports are valued at $.05.

My children will be relieved when they read this. The Explanation Brains of older people are slow because they know so much. People do not decline mentally with age, it just takes them longer to recall facts because they have more information in their brains, scientists believe. Much like a computer struggles as the hard drive gets full, so, too, do humans take longer to access information when their brains are full. Researchers say this slowing down process is not the same as cognitive decline. The human brain works slower in old age, said Dr. Michael Ramscar, but only because we have stored more information over time. The brains of older people do not get weak. On the contrary, they simply know more. Also, older people often go to another room to get something and when they get there, they stand there wondering what they came for. It is NOT a memory problem, it is nature's way of making older people do more exercise. SO THERE!! I have more friends I should send this to, but right now I can't remember their names. So, please forward this to your friends; they may be my friends, too.

In part of the post made by wileecoyote, he said "Many of the current BATFE / GCA laws and restrictions did not exist prior to 1968, and yet the world was not a criminal hell on earth, and there was not a blood bath in the streets on a daily basis, and crime was not significantly impacted either way before or since." I have a little different view on this issue. I think since the new laws have been put into effect crime in big cities has definitely increased over the years. Back before the laws went into effect firearms were more readily available to most everyone and those laws changed that. By doing so it created a different atmosphere causing many people to become unsure about how much longer the right to purchase guns would remain. That in turn started people purchasing firearms more readily before the laws got so that many of them would not be able to buy them. I would not call it panic buying but close. Many of those guns bought back years ago are showing up now in crimes in big cities. Yes there is a straw buyer problem to some extent but I think many of the guns like being used in Chicago came from purchases made before back ground checks went into full operation. I bought my first hand gun at age 12 from a licensed FFL gun store in my home town in Illinois and it was not an illegal purchase. It was a Colt Single action 6 22 lr.....................................jmho

I agree with a lot of this very much including the Horizontal Shoulder Holsters. I have been looking for a good vertical drop in shoulder holster for several years and all I have found so far is junk. I don't want cloth or I would already have one. I have been putting a few dimes and nickles back because I have located a man here locally that works with leather and he has agreed to make me what I want when I get the funds saved back. I would not feel right knowing my muzzle was pointing at anyone standing behind me. Either way I will continue to carry concealed as I always wear a cover shirt large enough I don't print. .............jmho

I guess Tim was listening to Daddy Joe Biden when he chose the name for his summer tour. It is called the Summer Shotgun Tour. Just saw that advertised on TV!!!!! Thought he didn't like guns.......... :stunned: :stunned:

I just think that open carry is another word for open target, "shoot me first" in a robbery or just an open invite to have someone try and take the gun such as in this report. Had the bad guy landed a good head shot with the bat he would have possibly killed the guy and got his gun at the same time....................jmho

Well in all reality a bad guy with a gun acting irradically in public is not the guy you try to bump on the shoulder or leg with the front of your patrol car. Besides that how can you hit them in the shoulder with the bumper unless you do it just like this LEO did? It looked to me like he hit his shoulder and his leg very well................
