Yep, not been out on the street all day and sorted brass till my eyes was about crossed and finally Darby decided I needed to quit and go out side and play fetch stick for about 15 or 20 minutes till she lost the stick while chasing a squirrel. I went and found it and brought it back in the house and put it on the table with the other 5 or 6 I have cause she keeps losing them when she sees a critter to chase if she has the stick in her mouth. She drops it where ever and takes off chasing.....................

I got to meet Grunt67 a few days ago and had a short but nice visit. Enjoyed our talk. He stopped by to pick up some brass I had sorted out for him. I have taken on the challenge of sorting out a 5 gallon pail and a 2.5 gallon pail of Brass BT collected while he was alive and worked at a gun range. I was going to take it to a junk yard and sell it for the brass weight but the thought of just scrapping good brass just didn't seem like the right thing to do. Besides that it is giving me something to do during my down time during recovery. I am finding 40 cal, 9mm, 45cal, 380 cal, 38 spl, and even some 10mm so am seperating those calibers out. If anyone would be interested in buying any it's going to be for sale soon at a cheap price. Let me know if anyone is intersted in any of it....................

Well the reason I asked the question I did was what could possibly be gained by eiher side by telling a 1st grader he/she had to walk out and tell them why? I have little doubt they would comprehend any part of the reason why and I don't know how it could be explained to them in such a way they could understand the reason to begin with. In all honesty I don't see anything is going to be accomplished on either side for any kids below at least the 5th grade up and that may still be to young.................JMHO

Well I have a DMV location I did mine at last time about 3 miles from my house so might just go there again. I did my DL on line and completed the form on a Thursday and a week later on Friday I had my new DL in my mail box. I have some time to give it some thought, just not gonna wait till last minute regardless of how I choose to do it................

OK, since I did not pay a whole lot of attention to the children walking out but I do have one question? Did the children walk out of the schools at all grade levels from 1st grade thru 12th grade or was there a certain grade level to which walked out?

I don't see were it makes much difference how far he had to go, he went toward the gun fire and did the job he is suppose to be there to do. I give him an A+ for a job well done!!

It is great to hear they have a Resource Officer that runs towards gun fire and not way from it. Great job well done...........

Mine renews in August so will probably wait till July to apply for renewal. With my luck I will do it in July and it will take them 2 or 3 months to get around to renewing mine. I might do like you Jeb and renew soon as I get my renewal papers. Thre months won't be much loss verses going without for 3 months while waiting on new one........JMHO

And a good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun, imagine that!! Sounds like they have a great Resource Officer at the school.......JMHO

I for one can answer that question. We have had folks move down from the north that were not really ready to leave the North so when they came South they brought a lot of the northern ways and ideas with them and they thought folks down here should do things their way and tried to push their ways and beliefs on folks down here and it was like oil & water. I think many of them moved back north or just faded away never to be heard from again. Folks down here like things the way they are so I think what he was saying is how most of us feel and that is leave your yankee ways up there when you come south and learn how much fun life can really be...........JMHO

I have a lot of great memories growing up in Lemont but that is back when it was a state that believed in what the Constitution represented and we were taught actual U.S. History and if you were big enough to tote a gun you went hunting and life was good. I think my parents saw what was coming in Illinois and we got the hell out and never looked back. I have a brother that still lives in Essex Illinois and I have not seen him since 1990. He won't come down and visit and I damn sure ain't going back up there without a gun.

What part of HELLINOIS are you moving away from. I grew up in Lemont HELLINOIS and parents moved me away in 1967 at age 17 but this was home cause most of my family lived here like since forever before we moved down in 67. Oh yea welcome to GODS country and TGO!!

That is exactly why all of my grandchildren are home schooled. They don't need to learn all that trash they teach kids in school these days. My Daughter In Law got her degree to teach so she holds class for all the school age grand children and is actually paid by 4 other families to have her teach their children. She has been doing this about 10 years now and goes back every 2 years to renew her teaching degree. None of my grand children plan on going to college anyway but will do like their parents did and go to a Trade School and earn a trade working with their hands and brains. On the other side of the family on daughter side my oldest grandson got his teaching degree and he is doing the teaching on that side with grand children and he also is teaching 7 children from 5 other homes and being paid for teaching them. He just went and renewed his teaching degree last month. If it is as all possible Home Schooling is best these days..............IMHO

I don't know about that. If she is willing to be with a guy that acts like that she will probably be the type that will go bail him out. A lot of times women that have boyfriends like that they will do stupid things like get him out. I knew a girl who's boyfriend use to beat her up and they would arrest him and she would have him bailed out before the ink dried on the paper work. That one didn't end well but it did end. She ended up shooting and killing him during one of the beatings. They didn't arrest her but she has not been right in the head ever since.

I use a debt card quite often and I guess I have been lucky cause I have never had an issue with it yet. My bank put's all my purchases on my debit card in processing for 3 days to give me time to accept or deny the charge so I check my account every day to see what is on it. As far as the crooks sending 2 of the purchases to your house. Your debit card probably did that automatically because the crooks could not use their home address and didn't have another address they could send them to. As far as your information being secret. Not this day in time! Your information is almost a matter of public record these days. It's like you probably have no clue how many times you appear on a camera somewhere. If you got out your door of your house your probably on someones camera. Neighbors, depending on where you live, the apartment complex and lets not forget NASA. You can walk out your back door and sit and drink a cup of coffee on your deck and NASA can watch every sip you take. I have told a few friends that and they go into panick mode. I quit worrying about it years ago cause I don't plan on breaking any laws plus nothing I can do about it anyway. Some people think just because they have moved out into the deep wilderness and have no modern items like cell phone. electricity, city water and they live primarily off the land that they are off the grid. Good luck with that!!The MAN knows where your at if he wants you bad enough.............JMHO

I was sorting some brass today and ran across so 10mm brass during my sorting. I will probably be another 2 months getting all the brass sorted that I have. I'm not a reloader so have no clue which brass is something folks might want and which no one would want but I got it so I'm gonna see what all kinds I have. Right now I am mostly coming up with 45, 380, 9mm, 38 special and 40 cal. Ran across a few pieces in 45 long Colt and a few 44 Mag stuff.

I have been considering a shoulder holster outfit for several years but can seem to find one I want. I want a tuxedo style harness with a vertical drop in holster and so far all I have found is horizontal holsters.................

The Kroger store I shop in does not have a magazine section or rack in it but way I see it, if a store quits selling any products it's because of money more than anything else. If an item is not making a profit it is gone. It other stores I see that have magazine racks I see people standing reading a magazine and then close it up and place it back on the shelf anyway. Why buy when you can read it and put it back on the shelf?

Ok I am going to start by saying any and all school shootings are trageties and just should not be happening, but they are!! Each school shooting has it's own aftermath and story needs to be told and each one is unique in it's own way. Since Columbine in 1999 there have been 25 school shootings with multiple deaths, some more than others. My question to all of this is what makes this school shooting any more tragic than Schools in every other location? Why has there been no protests and walk outs by students of any of the other school shootings. Were they not as important as this one? Were the deaths of the students at other schools not as important as the ones in Parkland Florida? I would kind of like to hear from some of the students in schools in Texas or Idaho or Wisconsin why they feel different in this case? Lets see who is influencing the real actions of these young people to decide to do this?......................JMHO

I can't rememner the last time I picked up a firearm of any type and did not safely clear it before doing any other type of inspection of it. I assume every gun is loaded until I have cleared it completely!!!!!! Prayers sent to the family.

Back when I was a kid growing up and I'm talking kid 10 years old I owned a 4.10 shot gun and a 12 gauge and when I was not in school during the hunting seasons I was in the woods and fields hunting. Now I was able to do this in a state that now has someof the toughest gun laws in the country, Illinois and the year was 1958. By the time my buddy and I were 13 and 14 we owned at least 8 or more guns each including 22lr Single action pistols. My friend owned a Ruger and I owned a Colt. We didn't even need our parents with up to purchase these firearms. All we needed was the funds to purchase them. No back ground checks or waiting periods. Just cash and a receipt and deal was done. When I moved to Tennessee in 1967 I was kind of surprised to see rifles and shotguns hanging in the back windows of pickups but learned quick that was the way things was done down here. My grandfather gave me my frist deer rifle which was a Winchester mod 94. I could not buy high powered rifles up north cause there was no big game seasons up there. 22lr was the biggest rifle we could buy in Illinois back then. I grew up in a gun enviroment and it was 2nd nature. Today my friend still lives up there and he said gun owners are constantly jumping through hoops to be able to do what we took as a natural way of life back in 1958. Now there are people working very hard at trying to end a lifestyle this country was built on and that was the right to Bear arms. The right to own a gun. I have looked at the people that want to deprive us of our rights. Because they might be in a position of power to take my rights away, do a back ground check on many of them and you will find they are either gun owners themselves or are surrounded by men and women that do have guns to protect that individual wanting to take your rights away. I'm 70 years old and I can tell you right this minute!! If they come to take my guns away it is not going to be peaceful or a pretty sight and they will remove my guns from my cold dead hands..........JMHO

First experiment with a bullet proof vest would be my guess!!!!!

Planning on living in it?............LOL That shop is a lot bigger than my house. Sounds a lot like the new shop my son built a few years ago but he operates an automotive repair center out of his. He has his all insulated to cut down on heating bills. He has 2 above ground lifts. one 2 post and one 4 post located in the drive through section and he can have a vehicle on the 4 post and put it in the air and drive through below it. I thought when he showed me the blueprints that he was over doing it but turns out it is a great working building. I made the statement when I was looking at blue prints that he was going to have a lot of unused space. I was wrong..........lol.
