  1. Below is the link to the TWRA website's harvest report: https://hfwa.centraltechnology.net/TNHFInternetHarvest/app/mainHarvestReport.do
  2. Wow so much over these badges. In response to the original post, no i do not think they should be banned. Like crimsonaudio said, "do we need anymore nanny laws?" and the question is rhetorical and the answer should be a firm NO. Do i feel that they are necessary? Absolutely positively freaking NOT! I do not plan on ever owning one of those badges or ever putting them on. Heck when i do carry, 99% of the poeple around me doesn't even know because i try to make it a habit to be about it.
  3. The database is the exact kind of that i disagree with. To me this is an invasion of privacy PERIOD. There is also this entire section of people voicing his or her discontent on the comments section from the front section in today's commercial appeal.
  4. Interesting, wonder if it says where at in Mcnairy County. I personally hunt in Mcnairy County or at least near the edge bordering Hardeman. They have good and plentiful game out there. According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency's report, Hardeman county recorded having the most deer harvest as usual. But the recorded harvest in Mcnairy county isn't that far behind.
  5. Permit?? You mean my inalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as long as it does not infringe on others? Yeah i have one of those 'permits' given to me by GOD whoever or whatever you believe him or it to be. I carry it with me 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and will continue to carry it with me in my heart until i cease to exist in this world.
  6. I believe you are paranoid , but there is nothing wrong with that .
  7. Have you checked the newspaper or craigslist?
  8. This is just a start. I would think that their goal is to ultimately make it very difficult if not illegal to obtain a firearm. They will have the strength to do this once they have locked up everyone with a gun. If they think that this will prevent crime then they need to think again or better yet analyze how Britain or Australia fared after they took guns from the citizens. Look at how much the crime rate actually increased.
  9. I own a XD-9 service. Got it last month and put over 800 rounds through is without a single failure. Great gun

    XD-M 9 or G-19

To the original post, i personally would choose the XD-m. I myself was going to purchase it last month but decided to get the xd instead. I didn't need the extra pizazz of the XD-m although it would have been nice and the service xd were more concealable or at least for me anyways. The xd has more features that i prefer and it fits in my hand better than the glock.....but thats just my opinion. Shouldn't the XD-M be compared to like a G17 or something? Whichever one you decide choose the one that you feel most comfortable with and one that you hopefully wont regret buying. Both are great guns
  11. Okay im done ranting now. What do y'all think? Am i over reacting?
  12. This is on today's newspaper. The Shelby County's mayor, AC Wharton, is urging for tougher gun laws . Wharton unveils a flurry of ideas to reduce violent gun crimes, including state legislation that would make it a felony instead of a misdemeanor for first-time offenders who illegally carry guns:panic:. Now i know that some of y'all would like to think that we shouldn't worry about this but i disagree. To me this sounds like a scheme to disarm the people. How so? For the reason that, 1) First of all if they want it to be a felony for first time offenders for illegally carrying guns then why not just say that it is a felony to own a gun without a permit basically. Far from it? Well just think about it.... Basically that is all the police would have to put on a form and you would be considered a felon. Or 2) For those of you who already have HCP, if you were to unintentionally (say you forgot or something) carry to a store or restaurant that prohibits carry but did not posted correctly or something similar and you were to get caught. Well then you would be considered a felon!! There is just too many loopholes with a legislation like this that i cannot possibly see it doing much good for the responsible gun owners. Also it states that Wharton spoke optimistcally of the county's overall health despite a crippling national recession, saying that the county's debt was trending down and bond ratings remained strong. Well if he wants the county's debt to continue to trend down then i am sure locking up every single gun offender would do it wonders huh? All those mouths to feed in jail? Not to mention the spending of your hard earn money for these individuals. I believe this to be a load of . BUT!!! he (Wharton) called the county's crime problem the "monster in the room" and the "ice on the wings of our flight to success." The paper also brought up the case with the Cordova man who was slain to apparently put fear into the citizen so that their legislative crap would be supported. yeah!!!! okay!!! Just try to put fear into the people and they will have to agree with you or submit to it. Niccolo Machiavelli himself said, "From this arises the question whether it is better to be loved rather than feared, or feared rather than loved. It might perhaps be answered that we should wish to be both: but since love and fear can hardly exist together, if we must choose between them, it is far safer to be feared than loved. The paper also reported that for years Dist Atty. gen. Bill Gibbons said a statewide coalition of law enforcement officials have unsuccessfully tried to pass similar legislations, but those proposal have receieved little support included mandatory jail time and higher costs in county jail. NOW THERE IS A VERY IMPORTANT REASON WHY THAT IS SO!!! Yet Wharton said he believes the public would be willing to pay more to ensure safer streets. My response to that would be that the public would end up having to pay less and fight to ensure safer streets by buying a gun !
  13. That sucks. My uncle had his trailer stolen about 3 weeks ago also. It was hitched to his truck but unlocked. Some bastard unhitched it while he was at work and took off with it. Try craigslist or maybe even the classified section of the newspaper to see if the idiot might put it up for sale for a low price.
  14. Back when i was working as a driver delivering parts, i went to this shop that had an animal that was part wolf chained in the back. The thing was very dark and it was huge. I would estimate about at least 120 pounds. That is the meanest little bastard i have ever seen.
  15. The first rifle that i ever took a white-tail deer with was a Savage .243. I was 12 yrs old at the time. I don't remember which model it was, but it had a synthetic stock with a blued barrel which is a vague description, i know. It was a fantastic rifle to shoot. The recoil wasn't bad at all thanks to the light bullet and most importantly it was accurate. However, i do remember back then there was this one time i shot a deer with a .243 kinda high in the shoulders and the bullet hit his shoulder and bounced and lodge right underneath his spine. Again i must say, and i know i might sound like a broken record by now, that a 30-06 is my preferred caliber for hunting deer. It has always worked well enough for me. The caliber has good penetration, all of the deer that i have taken with it the bullet always went completely through, it has knockdown power, i have dropped a few deer in their tracks with the bullet, and with the loads that i use for hunting, remington premier core-lockt ultra 180gr., it is effective enough to take deer without much destruction of edible meat. I love venison . I would also like to add that i do not use ballistic tip ammunition for deer. I have tried it before and it just destroys the meat.
