Nope..the federal law states you have to be 21 to purchase a handgun from a FFL(gun shop) only...Private sales are legal as long as you are at least 18 years of age...

This law will be like every other "gun control" law(except the standard background checks)...It will be for the most part innefective, and likely be abused by gun grabbing jurisidictions across the united states..The larger problem will still be there, and remain unfixed...

Mine took about 2 weeks from the time i sent my fingerprints off to the tbi(the final step)...Times will vary because of backlogs, and they seem to be a lazy bunch of folks up there at the permit office lol :)

I edc the xd9 subcompact...It's a good gun, not my favorite trigger by any means, but like any gun, practice helps with getting used to the trigger pull..Which reminds me, i need to get out to the range this week :)

I see it like this..I don't put on my seatbelt everytime i drive because i expect to get into a accident...I put it on "just in case" i happen to get into one..Same with my side arm..It's a life preserver, just like a seatbelt, or a life jacket...

My wife just went through this same process over a bad check charge that was put on pre trial diversion over 12 years ago..It clogged up her hcp permit process for nearly 4 months...She had to send in the ORIGINAL court documents(she made copies for her records) to the state showing that the diversion was completed without any further charges..She finally got her permit in the mail this week..Be patient, this will take a while..Wait 90 days from the date you mailed them the documents until you start calling them...
