I was with the same independent agent in Western NY for 46 years and was very happy with the service and flexibility. He saved me money several times, moving me around and giving me short term coverage when transferring a car. Independent was my first choice when we moved 4 years ago but when I got the paperwork to sign I actually read it and it had a clause about house being visible from a certain number of neighbors. (I wanted cars and house with the same company). I called the agent and he said that was standard with all the companies he handled. That was not the case in NY, I asked after it happened. Was worried our house is sorta visible by two neighbors in the WInter but hidden the rest of the year. At that point I called a couple of bigger companies and non had that clause and I went with Farm Bureau, been happy so far but no claims either.

When I was shooting a lot of Sports Clays, DIck's had good sales on shotgun shells on a regular bases but that was about all. Since I'm only getting out a few times a year instead of a few times a month to shoot shotgun, I'm still overstocked and 5+ years since I have been in Dick's.

Got my gauge from S&W, took a little over a week. Mine checked ok too. If I had seen a spec on the thickness I would have just measured it.

Wife and I just finished watching. Very good, I didn't realize Bonnie and Clyde were idolized so much. Gun shop was very fun to watch. I noticed that the No Trespassing sign they shot with machine gun, when they showed it from the back later, looked like the bullets didn't go through just dented.

A US Marine taking a smoke break on Iwo Jima. Not exactly a gun but a flame thrower should count for something.

Is that the one that takes .22 shorts?

Here is a great story to get everyone away from politics!

I saw this happen at my old club. They set a 5 gun clay station up to see if there was enough interest to make it a regular event and I went to watch. One of the older members with Parkinson's pretty bad was queued up and I was not sure how that was going to work. His son helped him to each station and his wife acted as shotgun caddie. As soon as he was in position and his wife handed him his gun his shakes went away and he shot as good or better than most everyone competing. As soon as his wife took the shotgun the shakes started again. It was really something to see and you could see by his smile he was having a great time.- 1 reply
