  1. Firing pin and or slide, even the Glock perfection has issues Not my gun nor do I believe it is a wide spread issue. I dry fire my Glocks without worry.
  2. Good luck on the small pistol primers. Just place an order with Graf's or Powder Valley and wait and wait.
  3. That is an order for moly coated lead
  4. I've got 6,500 small pistol primers, powder and no bullets. My bullet order is 6 weeks out and I'm almost out of factory 9mm. So unless I score some factory ammo I'll be taking a break from shooting matches.
  5. The IDPA website will show you all the clubs in TN. There are several matches within 1 1/2 hours of Nashville. Music City, Gallatin, and Bowling Green, KY put on good well attended matches that would be happy to have you come out and give it a try. Brush Creek and Manchester also put on matches, they tend to have smaller turnouts but are just as welcoming. I shoot with them as well just not as often. Gun, 3 mags, strong side holster, double mag pouch, an open mind, and the ability to follow safety instructions are all you need. If you are short on gear and are shooting a common gun speak up and we can arrange for someone to loan you what you need to try a match. It is great fun, as competitive as you want it to be, and a great skill builder. It is not training, there are plenty of places in TN to get that. This is my 2nd post on this hopefully this one stays
  6. It's fun stuff for sure! I shot my first batches of reloads yesterday after a match. I had 5 different loads for 147 grain 9mm and 5 more for 124 grain 9mm. Shot them all across my chrono no surprises and they all went bang Today I loaded 200 of the 147's and 200 of the 124's. I'll shoot these in a match and see which I like better.
  7. ****ing hypocrites it's ok for them but not for you? Send him copies of your receipts from another liquor store.
  8. Welcome! You might want to hook up with the guys in Oak Ridge and shoot some USPSA or IDPA http://orsaap.com/
  9. My Setup is made up of a Mossberg 590A1, Streamlight 69901, Command Arms FAS2, and SureFire G3 These are clickable pics:
  10. Before Materials Bench Press Mounted Primer Dump Setup Let There Be Light All Buttoned up Almost finished with my setup. I've got shell sorters, tumbler, seperator, scale, and dies on the way. I'll be on a quest for primers shortly
  11. The 19 is a good carry gun and it will do for IDPA. I shot IDPA for three years with my carry gun which is a 23, I've been competing for the last two years with a 34.
  12. I'll be there early helping setup stages
  13. Steel plates at 25 yds is a humbling experience, I had a couple of decent practice runs and then proceeded to get my ass handed to me in the bracket runs.
  14. A Glock 35 would fit well in Limited 10 or Production. Get a couple of double mag pouches and at least 5 mags and give it a try.
  15. I shoot IDPA at several clubs and when I'm squaded up with the usual suspects there is a serious amount of goofing around and having fun. I'm as competitive as the next guy when I'm on the line though. I generally avoid shooting with people who aren't there to have fun and compete.
  16. Did you get a chance to shoot Chip's Witness? Sweetness! If I were picking a gun for IDPA/ESP it would be a steel gun with a sweet single action trigger.
  17. Nice runs you guys make it look easy, I shoot my first USPSA match with you guys that day.
  18. Thankfully I didn't party too hard I got called in to work at 2:30 AM
  19. Sandbagger! Man up and shoot one to your skill level would ya!
  20. I think this is something that is more common among competition shooters. I cannot imagine cleaning a gun every time I shot it. I don't even clean my 1911 often. For the heck of it I shot it at a match last month, it is a stainless gun the front few inches of the slide was so black and grungy that the SO gave me some good natured grief over it. BTW it ran flawless for the match and no I still haven't cleaned it.
  21. I usually have one on my person otherwise just a few seconds away. I always keep a security bar wedged under my door knob so it will take some effort to get through my door.
  22. I was annoyed by the whole thing. It took me 90 minutes to make it home, which is normally a 25 minute trip. I thought I left all this crap behind in Michigan.
  23. Still there at: http://www.summitgunbroker.com
  24. Try to call Glock and buy parts, same story. With Glock we just happen to be lucky that numerous vendors are happy to sell the parts to us mere mortals.
