  1. Sorry for the late reply, this is my 3rd attempt to post! A Serpa is ok to use, in fact I have seen several in use at our matches. There tends to be strong feelings and opinions regarding this holster design. I am not a fan and wouldn't recommend one, however that is my "personal" opinion and not an official stance or ruling by MCTS. If you have a Serpa by all means come out and feel free to use it. Hopefully that clears this up.
  2. Can't use the clipdraw, leather IWB will work especially if it has a reinforced opening so it doesn't collapse. Blackhawk (non-serpa) is ok, skip the Fobus. Other good choices would be Bladetech & Comp-Tac. OWB does indeed work best for IDPA & USPSA. Don't let the lack of gear hold you back though, you did have an offer to borrow some gear.
  3. Al, It will be good to see you out on the range again. Donkey, 3 magazines and a kydex holster and double mag pouch generally work the best, but there are certainly other options. What do you have available for your Glock and 1911?
  4. You are welcome! and you hit the nail on the head about "static" ranges I so rarely do that anymore.
  5. Guys, We had an absolutely great match today, the weather was perfect I even got a little sunburn on my face! Thank you to everyone who came out today to shoot with especially our new shooters. Also a big thank you to everyone who helped setup this morning and tear down this afternoon, without your help these matches wouldn't happen. Please let me know if I have you in the right division and classification. We had a lot of sheets missing this info. Also had trouble reading some names so let me know if I mangled any names and we will get those corrected. Scores were emailed if you didn't get them please send an email to matchdirector@mctsclub.com so that I can get them out to you. Greg Bell Match Director MCTS
  6. No nipple twisting either
  7. Weather forecast looks great come on out!
  8. Just a bump to remind everyone this match is coming up!
  9. That's what I made mine from as well, found an unused surplus one on Craigslist for $30 or so.
  10. That was my first hangun purchase and choice as well. I went with the .40 but today with a more informed decision I would go with the 9mm. With current defensive ammo not much difference between the two. The 19 has 2 more rounds and cheaper practice ammo.
  11. Give a shout when you get relocated we have a match every 1st and 3rd Saturday and would be glad to have you shoot with us.
  12. Just wanted to bump this one back up! A lot of you had questions and wanted to give IDPA a shot. We have a match this saturday at Music City Tactical. See this thread: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/competitive-shooting-sports/34949-mcts-club-idpa-match-02-20-2010-a.html
  13. Don't let any potential weather hold you back either. Short of anything but a heavy downpour with lightning we will be shooting!
  14. New shooters if you have any questions or concerns ask here or send me an email at MatchDirector@mctsclub.com
  15. alpogi, You are certainly welcome to just watch an event but I encourage you to bring your gear and shoot with us. If you have basic pistol skills and the ability to follow instruction you will be good to go. We always give new competitors a special brief to cover range commands and safety proceedures. Greg
  16. Jon, Sorry to hear about it that is the suck! Having had my house up for sale before I can sympathize. I never left anything of value out during a showing. Even a simple low end lock box would prevent that kind of thing.
  17. We would be happy to have you out.
  18. The 10 round max is for the starting magazine, just to force a reload on the stage to keep it kind of like IDPA. Most guys will run AR-15's for these matches. Bring whatever you have for a rifle AR, AK, Mini-14, Carbine, pretty wide open especially with no steel on that stage you could run a Garand if you wanted. It's a blast come on out!
  19. IDPA match with optional rifle side match @ Dickson, TN Feb 20th Standard divisions for IDPA, the rifle match will be split into optics, irons, & .22 divisions. New Club Website: Music City Tactical Shooters Stages: http://www.mctsclub.com/Feb20MCTSMatch.pdf
  20. Allan, No worries man I know you will be out when you can! Greg, No problem! We all appreciate hearing that.
  21. Thanks everyone for coming out to help setup, shoot, and teardown today. Great shooting with all of you and look forward to our next match. See you in 2 weeks!
  22. Sorry you couldn't make it out!
