At this point I would take a 2-day 1000 round class to learn some fundamentals. From there you will have a base to work from. I can highly recommend Tom Givens @ Range Master in Memphis. I trained with his group twice before I even moved to TN.

Another option is monovision. Have your shooting glasses setup with the dominate eye set for clear crisp vision of your front sight. Set the other eye up for clear distance vision. This is a fairly common setup for IDPA and USPSA shooters. I have been pleased with it. I switch from my normal glasses to my shooting glasses when I get to the range and it takes about 10-15 minutes for my brain to adjust to it. I use Rudy Rydon glasses with the inserts. The insert was about $25 and the lenses ground to my modifed RX was about $90-$100. There are cheaper setups like ESS that will work just as well.

I received 5k Win Sm Pistol in march from Grafs and put another 5k on order in april haven't seen the second order yet. I scored Wolf Lrg Pistol and Sm Rifle from Wideners about 6 weeks ago. I went in on a deal with another guy for some Win Sm Pistol at $40 per 1000, those should be in next week. My ass still hurts over that one. Federals have been available more often than Winchester but don't want to run those in my 650

Started with dryer sheets now I use a Nu-Finish thinned just a touch with mineral spirits.

30 cal ammo cans hold about 1200 9mm rounds. From these I load up 100 round dillon boxes for matches. FYI 1200 rounds of 147gr 9mm cartridges weighs a few pounds

I'll second the private Coon Creek Road range in Dickson for both IDPA & USPSA a fair amount of guys come down from Clarksville. I've heard they are now shooting IDPA at http://www.rattlesnakeridge.org
