  1. See my other post. I wasn't aware that there were small pistol pockets in the .45 acp. I thought there was only large, so I was thinking ya'll were nuts putting a SPP into a LPP.
  2. I have never seen them, but I admit that I've neither looked for them or thought to. I have all the brass and LPP I need...for now. :)
  3. And that isn't loose?
  4. The SASS looks sweet!
  5. Yes, buy a new splitter and make sure all connections are tight. The more splitters you use the weaker the signal, but you aren't doing anything excessive. That is normally a problem in apartments.
  6. Small pistol primer for a .45 acp?
  7. Good luck with that. They tell you that they got it and then turn around and marry one.   My father said, "Daughters bring home road-kill and ask you to love them." When I laughed he asked my why I was laughing when I was road-kill too.
  8. The point is that they don't need this excuse, or any other excuse, to raise taxes. Most jurisdictions are also covered by insurance, and some are self-insured. Premiums would go up, (but they don't need excuses to do that either), and self-insured already have the money set aside, (funds already gathered at tax-payer's expense). Judgments can also be directed at the officers personally, but the lawyers want to go after the deep pockets.
  9. Ya, that's why they'll raise taxes! :shake:
  10. Let's see...a "scandal plagued" Internal Affairs didn't see a problem with it? What's wrong with that picture? It seems that the Chief should be losing his job.
  11. Aaawww now ya done it. The next person to chime in will spout how it's the tax-payers paying for it.
  12. Not as expensive as you'd think.
  13. While this is true to an extent, (as a former LEO myself), I think that they are going on historic numbers dating waaaay back when there was a more of a lack of AC in the inner city. It still could be the case considering electric bills. Heat always lead to much more domestic violence and thus assaults and murders.
  14. Thanks for the recommendations ya'll.
  15. Wasn't the government saving money on the electric bill the whole idea behind this?
  16. The typical range of the 300 Blackout which I believe is around 600 yards, but since the ranges around my house are quite limited it'll mostly be shot out to 200 yards. It will not be my home defense weapon. I have a 9mm AR for that since I live in a very populated neighborhood.
  17. Less than a grand. I can't justify $1,700 for a Leupold.
  18. Like the title says, I'm looking for recommendations on optics for my 300 Blackout rifle. With the exception of Leupold, (I'm not into paying more for the scope than the rifle), what all do you recommend?   The rifle is a 16" 1:7 AR platform shooting supersonic 110/125 grain projectiles. I would like an illuminated reticle but it isn't a deal breaker. I'm a rather large and older fellow who likes/needs good eye relief. I think a 10x would do, but I'm open to variable power too since my eyes aren't what they used to be.
  19. That isn't the half of it. The government claimed that the wood violated the law of the country of origin; not the US, even though the country of origin said that it was legally harvested and that no laws were broken. And the government did it TWICE; not just once. They went after Gibson and not after Fender who gets their wood from the same country and middlemen. The difference between the two? Gibson contributes to the Republican Party and Fender contributes to the Democratic Party.
  20. http://www.epiphone.com/History.aspx#EpiphoneAndGibson   "They were in Korea working with Samick in the 80’s. We still work with Samick but not in Korea. See attached time line for Epiphone."
  21. Yep! Wife knows of this happening, but she was told that it cannot be sold while she works for them. Afterwards they can go pack sand - although I doubt the prosecution thing. It isn't a crime.
  22. No offense intended, but since my wife pays the bills for them and is on the phone with the Japan, China, and Europe locations regularly, I'll take her word for it. :) Besides, I'd never hear the end of it if I didn't defend her. :(   Repair for Epiphone is a lot easier because of mass production specs; repair for Gibson requires being sent to Gibson because of the part being hand fitted.   John Lennon's Epiphone is considered a custom guitar: therefore, the Gibson Custom Shop here in town makes them for Epiphone. So it's a Gibson with an Epiphone brand on it The ones made in China are the run-of-the-mill Epiphones.   Since the wife works for Gibson we watch the guitars on TV closely and see far more Gibsons than Epiphones. Some of this is product positioning, but the wife says that Gibson is far more popular outside the US than inside.
  23. It was Gibson. The store was lost in the flood. The only "showcase" store remaining is in Memphis.
  24. I actually prefer the tone of the Martin over Gibson, Yamaha, or Takamine. My wife just corrected me, ( imagine that, huh?), Epiphone is made in only in China whereas Gibson is made only in the USA. The Epiphone HQ is in Nashville which I confused with the factory. Gibson is now Gibson Brands having bought, and continuing ti buy, various music/sound companies. My Schector Riot 4 was made in Korea via CNC machines.
