  1. Thanks for your feedback, guys, but what I'm asking about is the manufacturers. Go to the safe manufacturer's websites and they all say that they're the best, and have patented ___, and blah, blah, blah this. I've read posts of what THEY say and what the stores say, but I want to know what the people who own them say. 11 gauge or better steel, conventional tumbler lock, bolted to the floor, and out of site are all givens to me, (although I didn't say that before). For instance, Liberty uses a lot of FUD on their website. Does their stuff warrant the cost difference to others? Things like that.
  2. Not everyone has a IQ sufficient enough for logic and reasoning. This cat is one of them.   And BTW: WTH does being an artillery officer have to do with this? The artillery officers that I had probably only shot the gun/howitzer once in their entire time in my unit. How does that qualify you to speak about gun safety?
  3. I am in the market for a safe. I don't need anything huge or that can stand up to a blast furnace for hours. I'm more worried about security than anything else. Aaron at Parker Safes has a Champion Medalist 19 and a Superior Master 25. The Safe House has a Champion Trophy 19. I would like independent feedback on these safes or if I'm way off base and should be looking at something else.   Thoughts, please?
  4. When I was a LEO in Missouri where you are perfectly within your rights to open carry a handgun, my contact with the complainant would be something like this:   Me: Good morning sir. You reported a man with a gun?   Worker: Yes, officer. We were just doing our jobs trimming these trees when this fella comes out of that house over there and yells at us to knock it off and leave, and he had a gun.   Me: Where was this gun?   Worker: He had it tucked in the waist of his jeans.   Me: If it was in his jeans how did you see the gun?   Worker: He wasn't wearing a shirt, and I could see the top of the gun sticking out.   Me: At any time did he point the gun at you and threaten you with it?   Worker: No, it stayed in his jeans.   Me: Did he make any threats of pulling out the gun and using it on you?   Worker: No, he just yelled at us to leave.   Me: Were you ever on his property?   Worker: No, we only work on the easement where we are supposed to work.   Me: From what you are telling me he has committed no crime, but I will go talk to him and get his side of the story. I'll also let him know that you are not doing anything unlawful at this time either.
  5. Or pisses on your leg!
  6. I remember the danged things from my youth. Can't imagine why anyone would WANT one.
  7. Many people are undeserving of prayers, but Christians are specifically directed to love their enemies. This is NOT the love that society has defined as an emotion, but rather showing kindness. I pray for lots of people for various reasons, and lots of them are not loved by me.
  8. That is entirely possible. At the end of the day we are all second-guessing.
  9. Yes, not only did I see the picture but I've seen the same type of tattoos in real life. They made me take a double-take, but I could determine the difference. I have 20/30 in my dominate eye, but I also have depth perception that you do not get from a picture.
  10. "By their fruits you shall know them" and I see no fruit from this dude. If he was indeed saved then he's got a lot of questions to answer.
  11. Depending on the distance, not getting your eyes checked is unreasonable. What was the distance? Do you or anyone else know? From my front door to my street I could tell a tattoo from a gun in the belt.
  12. Really? Dude gets awakened by workers in his yard, throws some pants on, walks outside and tells them to knock it off and leave and you think HE'S at fault? That's ridiculous! And guess what, people get arrested for lying to police. Been going on for decades and is called filing a false report. You could bet that if I knew, (i.e. PROVE), that they LIED in a report I'd arrest them.
  13. Gravesite pee party starts in 3, 2, 1....   Oh, and the family requests no protesters at the graveyard? CHOKE!
  14. I'm sure that they probably did. I handled calls such as this and found that the truth ALWAYS laid in between both sides and didn't warrant a call out of SWAT, (embellishing here for emphasis), but that doesn't mean that I wasn't on guard.
  15. I didn't say that he was arrested. I can read. There were no threats mentioned at all as a matter of fact. The workers called the police because a man with a "gun" told them to leave resulting in officers with assault rifles responding to the scene. Given this information the officers over-reacted and should have charged the reporting worker with making a false report.
  16. Shouting at someone to leave your property, (although they were most likely on a utility easement), is not threatening in and of itself. If the mere presence of a weapon constitutes a felony charge then I guess you better not carry one at all. Pointing a weapon in the direction of the workers would constitute a threat. Kind of hard to do that with a tattoo. Distance comes into play here as well. If he was too far away to determine that it was a tattoo they saw then one could argue that a handgun wasn't a threat if he did have one. If not, then they need to get their eyes checked.
  17. There was no gun being brandished - particularly a real gun. bran·dish [bran-dish] Show IPA verb (used with object) 1. to shake or wave, as a weapon; flourish: Brandishing his sword, he rode into battle. noun 2. a flourish or waving, as of a weapon.
  18. Agreed: however, he is making an appearance in Tennessee: http://timesfreepress.com/news/2014/mar/19/new-jersey-gov-chris-christie-keynote-tennessee-go/
  19. Apparently, some morons think that he is.
  20. I wonder how many folks will gather at his grave to have a pissing party?
  21. I thought that it was made pretty clear: federal trumps state otherwise the constitution is useless.
  22. Strange place to put a bidet!
  23. Yeah, don't do that.
