  1. Now 8 quarters is definately something I wouldn't have thought of, thanks.
  2. I guess the USMC went with the 6.5 Lapua; not the Grendel: http://military.disc...iper-rifle.html
  3. I've read a few things on the 6.5 generally after seeing it on DPMS' website. Low drag coefficient with lower profile if I recall correctly. But I really don't know why I'm even considering long range rifles. A failed eye surgery has my dominant eye at 20/30, which is why I sold the Sig 556 DMR to begin with. I should probably stick to 5.56 and the idea of carbine in 9mm. BTW: "The 6.5 Grendel is challenging the status quo in Military and Law Enforcement units around the world. First unveiled in May 2003 at the Blackwater Training facility in NC, the 6.5 Grendel out-shot the 7.62 NATO at range with half the recoil. Still supersonic at 1,200 yards, the 6.5 Grendel delivered superior external ballistics to the 7.62 NATO." http://www.alexanderarms.com/index.php/products/65-grendel.html
  4. The 6.5 Grendel sounds interesting. Didn't the Marine Snipers switch to that?
  5. Oooo, me likey the ones on the flanks!
  6. Crap! Well, that makes sense now that you point it out. But I'd be good to go on 9mm or .40? Do those mags fill the mag well differently?
  7. They do not share the same lower???
  8. A few weeks ago I bought a stripped upper from PSA because it was a good deal at the time. Now I'm finding myself trying to figure out what I want to do with it. So let me tell you what I would LIKE to do, and someone tell me if I can do it, and how best to go about doing it. I would like to have one lower and 2-3 uppers. The uppers would be: 1. A marksmanship-centric .308 with a 20" fluted barrel and rail top for a scope to be fixed. 2. A 5.56 with a 18" barrel and a rail top of flip sights and a red dot sight to be fixed. 3. A short-barreled 9mm or .40 ala MP5-like carbine with a rail top. Yes, I know that they all can fit on the same lower, but would I have to change things like the buffer for each upper too? I like the idea of one nice trigger and buttstock for consistency and cost savings. Opinions?
  9. That was California.
  10. I guess that depends on if the dog was a Chihuahua or a Bullmastiff.
  11. The core of the entire situation!
  12. It makes you just want to bitch-slap the entire set of law-makers, doesn't it?
  13. Well, not something that I'd normally entertain, but I think I'd prefer it to be a tiger. They snap your neck quick!
  14. I disagree. When I was stationed in 29 Palms, CA the law made it perfectly clear that your house is not your castle, and that if someone broke in threatening to kill you then you were expected to go as far as jump from a second story window to escape rather than use deadly force. Of course, the argument could be made that California law-makers are insane.
  15. My wife and daughter are into it; not so much for me so far. Little things like in the first show they were in a theater venue practicing, and they decide to step outside for a chat. Next shot they are talking in the middle of the Shelby Street Bridge. I also didn't like how daddy is a corrupt power broker named Lamar. I thought of Lamar Alexander immediately, but I don't think that character portrays Nashville in a good light.
  16. That's not a secret. When I was on the PD in a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri my Chief of Police got me listening to a radio program on the college station out of Lawrence, Kansas, (I believe). It was called, Nighthawks, and it was a radical black group who openly called for revolution by 1995 and killing of all cops and whites. It's where I learned what "HOTEP" means. The chief wanted me to know my enemy.Hate Only The European Peoples, for those who don't know. I actually saw a black teenager who's name was Hotep.
  17. Back in 1982 I had a brother and sister pair. My cat, the female, was the smart one, and my wife's cat was absolutely dumb as a stump! My cat would get her brother to chase her, and she'd run full-out towards either a wall and turn at the last second, or at a chair and duck under it at the last second. Wham!! It's amazing that her brother lived at all! My cat had the best traits of a dog and a cat. She was loyal and protective. She slept on my chest with her head tucked under my chin as I slept. Whe walked me to the door when I left for the night shift at the county jail, and was watching/waiting for me the next morning in the kitchen window. When she saw me coming up the sidewalk she would meow to my wife to let her know that I was coming in the door.Damn! I miss that cat!
  18. Richard looks cool!
  19. This one had me belly laughing!
  20. If you read it, (which I read all that I could stomach), it was a grudging endorsement at best. Hardly worth the effort to read it.
  21. I think ya'll should take the list that comes out of this, add pictures and cooking instructions, and then make a book out of it to sell.
  22. To be fair, Obama is on record saying a lot of crap but hasn't been held to it.
  23. Um, Jane Fonda was in Mother, Jugs, and Speed? I guess that I was too busy staring at Raquel Welch to notice.
  24. I believe that it was Bush the elder who signed the first AWB.
  25. This is too much of an inane response to warrant a thoughtful retort, sorry.
