Isn't it funny that the SOB that posted his no guns never sign is SOL as to the legallity of his signage. I won't spend money with people who sheep out that badly so it's a moot point, but I love the fact they're so quick to post they don't know WTF they're doing Hey when you go back to work @ Arnolds Threeshot..tell the Fonz HEYYYYYY for me :-)

My email to Governor Phil Bredesen
dunndw replied to ngoeser59's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I got the same form letterL Here's MY response. I no where NEAR as nice as Nikki..or cute so I guess it's OK. Your veto of this bill was extremely disappointing. The fallacy of the anti gunner's argument, that even you state yourself is "guns and alcohol don't mix". This is 100% true, such as cars and alcohol don't mix. However this argument falls outside the "common sense' boundary. The proposed law state in plain English that the permit holder is forbidden from drinking while in possession of their handgun. You and the cadre of liberal like minded politically motivated police officials behind you at your veto ceremony seem to think that everyone with a permit will jump up and put their freedom, their permit holder status and their expensive firearm in jeopardy of being taken away just for a drink. This simply is not true. You claim to be “pro gun” however your actions, and the ability to surround yourself with known anti 2nd amendment officials while you could not notify the people of this state, nor the peoples Representatives and Senators that you intended to veto this bill speaks much louder Mr. Bredesen. Law abiding permit holders will NOT be drunk in bars waving guns around. The people who will break this law are breaking the current one. Why don’t you push legislation through that prohibits anyone from possessing car keys from having ANY alcohol in their system while in possession of said car keys. This is the same prohibition placed on permit holders, and I agree with it. Being in mere possession of a handgun in a establishment that serves alcohol is about as dangerous as walking past the beer cooler in Kroger while legally armed. How many random shootings have happened there? Your veto of this bill proves that your dedication to the political left is much more important than your duty to the people as governor of Tennessee, and to your so called support of our right to keep and bear arms. -
It's a witch hunt. The TFA has pissed off the gov and serpas,so the Tennessean is trying to dig up as much dirt as they can to discredit John Harris and the TFA.

Interesting. The Senate votes on this today...

As they say on arfcom...hide your dog :-) Good job on the letter. It's time we held the ones in power accountable for their actions.

The LEO's didn't realize that they were being used by the Governor (or did they?). Now, if there is pushback (as there will be), the LEO's appear as if they were behind and supported the Governor's veto. You answered your own question. They were against it from the start, and they take ANY chance to restrict our rights.

Police chief concerned by firearm group's e-mail
dunndw replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Too bad. When you stick you mug on camera...deal with becoming famous. They need to be pointed out and held accountable for their (in)actions. Hell, if everything goes as planned serpas is going to have to sign off on my SBR paperwork next week. His face on TV (and a good deal on a piston upper) was the push I needed to get my SBR in the works -
The owners want it both ways, they don't want to be responsible if a HCP holder shoots someone, don't know why it would be any different than a lowlife shooting somone but hey...whatever. They ALSO want to claim they're not responsible for anything that happens to you in their parking lot, business, etc. If you get knifed in their bathroom, they don't want to be held accountable. I'll say it again...if they post their business then there should be a law that requires them to have security both inside and outside for protection of their clients. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Governor Phil Bredesen Vetoes HB0962 (Restaurant Carry Bill)
dunndw replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Oh I'd bet the parks bill is DOA as well, whoever said our gov was a friend of gun owners was either a liar or grossly misinformed. -
