  1. But on the plus side, you will probably hold the record for the longest thread started by a new member. Oh, by the way, welcome and don't get offended by any of these posts.
  2. +1 Use red only if you're sure you never want to move it again. Blue is what most people use for scope rings.
  3. They (Natchez & Chattanooga Shooters Supply) are wholesale to gunshops only in TN, GA, & AL. If you are in the Chattanooga/Cleveland area. Try www.skipsfirearms.com. He has an account with them and may be able to get items for you. He's just open on Wednesday afternoon, so it may not work for you.

    What are these?

31 mins. from asked to all answered. Pretty darn good. IMO, the little Browning .22 is definitely a keeper.
  5. I don't think I want to standing near you during a thunderstorm. Glad it all finally got worked though.
  6. [QUOTE=Reservoir Dog;420934]TICS also checks for stolen firearms. The make/model/caliber/serial number of the firearm are entered into the TICS system at the time of purchase. Every once in a while, you actually get a stolen hit. Where?? Every time I've had a TICS run there was no information on the firearm submitted. I was also told I could add additional guns to that approval within 24 hrs, without another check. Was I misled on this?
  7. Why wouldn't "redneck" and "cracker" be offensive?
  8. If you have a Sam's Club close by, check out a workbench they have. If I recallcorrectly, it is 38" high x 25" deep x about 72" long. It has a heavy steel frame & legs with a good looking gardwood top about 2" thick. $198. I figure that's not a lot more than I would spend for comparable materials and a whole lot easier to assemble. Haven't bought one yet, but been looking for a couple of months.
  9. Welcome from the east side of the county. Let us know what and where you like to shoot.
  10. Don't know if anyone has noticed, but there are now 6002 registered users on TGO.

    Tommy Gun

+1 or the FBI's Sportsmans Warehouse in Chatt. has one in stock. Auto Ordinance .45 semi-auto 100 round drum. Don't remember the price, but I think about $1500.
  12. +1 An all time great spoof. I liked the part about changing from 20# to 10# paper for better penetration, and 122,000 rds without a failure.
  13. YOU MAY BE A TALIBAN IF... 1.... You refine heroin for a living, but you have a moral objection to liquor. 2.... You own a $3,000 machine gun and a $5,000 rocket launcher, but you can't afford shoes. 3.... You have more wives than teeth. 4.... You wipe your butt with your bare hand, but consider bacon "UNCLEAN". 5.... You think vests come in two styles: bulllet-proof and suicide. 6.... You can't think of anyone you haven't declared Jihad against. 7.... You consider television dangerous, but routinely carry explosives in your clothing. 8.... You were amazed to discover that cell phones have uses other than setting off roadside bombs. 9..... You have nothing against women and think every man should own at least four. 10.... You've always had a crush on your neighbor's goat.
  14. Thanks to everyone for a good show. It was nice to be able to browse without having to fight my way through dozens of junk vendors. Special thanks to strickj for posting the pictures. I was a little surprised that he didn't include one of the eye candy at The Armory booth. Maybe she had left by the time got there or maybe he just scared her off.
  15. #4 buckshot, if you can find it.

    WADDAYATHANK?

I agree with your assessment of the .22LR. I shot a couple of groundhogs about 50 yds. with one. They died, but not right then and there. My next move was to a Ruger 77/17, .17 HMR. WOW, what a difference. I've literally tuned 15 lb.er's for a flip at 60-70yds. I also shot a coyote at about 100yds., but it won't drop him DRT. My next step was to a 22-250. Haven't had a chance at a coyote yet, but what it does to a gallon jug of water at 200yds. makes me think it will do the job further than I shoot. But the .22LR definitely better for beer cans @ 50yds.
  17. That pretty well sums it up IMO. Would have liked a holster company there and maybe some aftermarket grips. I thought it was better quality merchandise than the ones I have seen in Chattanooga & Knoxville. Eastman shows in Atlanta have a LOT more selection, but Atlanta is a little bit larger market than Winchester. For a first time effort, I thought it was a pretty good show. Good to meet a few TGOers and what time did strickj finally show up? I didn't leave until almost 4 and I didn't see him.
  18. Tiger By The Tail by Cledus T Judd You heard it here first! Turn up the sound. http://airplaydirect.com/music/cledustjuddtaleoftigerwoods/
  19. It sounds to me like you may have a magazine problem (bad/weak springs) and maybe limp wristing. Could also be old/gunked up grease or oil. Unless your ammo has been stored outside, I wouldn't worry too much about the age of it. There is plenty of 50 yr. old military surplus ammo being shot every day. It is perfectly good for plinking/target pratice.
  20. Kinda reminds me of "Mama don't take my Kodachrome away"
  21. I did go by at lunch. Sign on door says they plan to open "on or about Dec. 15". No one appeared to be in the store (no vehicles in parking lot). On the plus side, my sandwich at Steamboat was very good.
  22. I "think" it's across Shallowford from the old Red Food/Bi-Lo warehouse. Polymer dr. parallels Hwy 153 on the west side. Think I may go by at lunch.
  23. If you can get Sportsman Channel, they have a show called Predator Quest (shot in the west). I heard the host say on one show that he gets $100+ for coyotes and $300 to $400 for good bobcats. That might be worth a little effort, if you can find the market for them. He shoots a 22-250 and really turns them for a flip out to a couple of hundred yards. Good luck on which ever way you decide to go.
