  1. Kimber Aegis II is a 9mm. Available with 3, 4, or 5" barrel.
  2. In addition to complaining to his dept., you might want to copy the NRA. They might get in touch with him and offer to revoke his instructors certification.
  3. Mine looks like Joe's, just a slightly smaller hole.
  4. I have one in 7mm-08. Very smooth action & trigger. In my opinion, it's about the perfect size and weight deer rifle for the southeast.
  5. I would think height should be 12' min to about 20' max. You really want to make certain you have a lot of strong support for something that large and that tall. For heat, I would probably go propane. Good luck and be safe.
  6. Welcome from just down the road.
  7. Welcome. Hope to see you @ CHRPC in about an hour.
  8. You might want to take a look at QDMA (Quality Deer Mgmt Assn).com. Large bucks is what they are all about. They had 2 national conventions in Chattanooga. Last year was in Louisville, not sure about this year.
  9. I think you are probably right about that. I noticed that Applebees has removed their generiac "no guns allowed" sign. It was up in July, so I didn't eat lunch there. Thursday, I had about a five month craving for one of their quesadilla(sp?) burgers. I went to the door, no sign, sat at the bar and had my burger and tea while CCing a 1911.
  10. All great suggestions, get what you feel most comfortable with. I am a little surprised that no one mentioned the 7mm-08. A necked down .308 with a lighter bullet for less recoil. More than enough power for anything east of the rockies.
  11. It's starting in Hamilton County. I've got a couple of nice bucks out looking for does. No interest on the does part though. Combination of cool weather and full moon will usually bring it on every year.

Probably not enough lead time. Hamilton just gave approval on Wed. I'm betting some jersey company ran a little overtime just to get the numbers on them in about 36-48 hrs.
  13. I agree. I have a Leupold Mk 4 that fits a picatinny like it was made for it.
  14. Congratulations!! Your misleading advertising led me to dig into the back of my safe and retrieve my 1300. The spring is exactly 24". This includes the pinched up coils at each end. Now I guess I should wipe off the dust oil it.
  15. You can't go wrong with the Rugers. The Single Six with both cylinders, gives you fun (22lr) and power (22mag). A Mark II or III with a bull barrel is very accurate, as is a 10/22 with a bull barrel.
  16. Sportsmans Whse is not posted. I carry in there weekly, but not open. They do have a sign about checking guns brought into the store, but that has to do more with long guns. Don't want any confusion about whose gun you are carrying back out.
  17. We can always count on strickj to stir the pot. As the owner of a few 1911's and NO Glocks, I appreciate the humor of the cartoon.
  18. Seems kinda of odd due to a lot of backwoods ole timers don't have the internets. Should be interesting. The same ones probably didn't do check-ins or have a hunting license either. I'll bet there is a fairly high % who don't report anyway.
  19. Thought it was a great first time event (excluding the global cooling) And had the added bonus of seeing David with singed pants and melted cell phone battery.
  20. Don't speak German, but it appears to have very little to offer on the 2nd or none rally, except for Nikki and Ronnie. Sort of gives the appearence of implying that TN is still the wild west. And why would Tootsie's wand anyone? I can't imagine going there for any reason other than to have a beer. Other than the historical funkyness of it.
  21. Getting ready to head out. Should be there around 11:30. Tried calling strickj to see if he wanted a ride. No answer. Guess he sleeps late.
