Clarification for "Protection of Property"
Farman replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
My house is 650' off the road and over a small hill. It can't be seen from the street in the summer and just bearly in the winter. I still have had uninvited visitors drive up to the house. I grab my OWB and meet them before the can get to the door. I am pleasant, but I want them to know I will defended my family and property. I don't think the display is threatening deadly force without verbalizing such. Just my opinion. -
For those who aren't familiar with the fn57 and I wasn't I looked it up. Very interesting. http://www.remtek.com/arms/fn/57/index.htm

I dry my wet ammo in the microwave.

Jameson, Famous Grouse, Jim Beam and occasional dog pee in the snow. (Vodka, amoretto and OJ:yuck:). Or something from Anheuser Busch would be just fine.

My stepson brought me a K-Bar from when he was active USMC. I'm sure illegal to carry and it means too much to me to have something happen to it. I keep my Leatherman with me. Carried it both on and off duty, used it a LOT!!! Have had it now for about 20 yrs. Not a spot of rust, touch up the blade with steel once in a while. Can't beat leatherman for an all purpose tool.

At the risk of.... what's Old Charter?

A Little Gun History Lesson +++++ Copied and pasted in to my docs so I'll always be able to find it.

Looks and sounds good. My BDA 380 has plastic grips and they get slippery. I found this http://www.brookstactical.com/index-2.html. Seems pretty expensive though. It still may be worthwhile.

Wives that enjoy the same things we do are awsome. Except... 2 sets of scuba gear, two sets of winter ski stuff, 2 motorcycles, 2 ATVs, lots of guns:):).

So why the hell is Chrysler even being considered. They are owned by a foreign co that has billions A Belgium brewing company (Inbev)bought Anheuser Busch a while back and now they are cutting 1400 jobs in the U.S. Are they going belly up. Are they going to want some bailout $$$$ too?

Do we need sponsers to join? The wife and I are only in the area a short time and have not met anyone yet. We would really like to join. It's a great facillity.

Informing a LEO that your carrying, at a traffic stop
Farman replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Hillbillys? You mean Appalachian- Americans . -
http://www.citizencorps.gov/cert/ Their site is not working very well. It's my understanding that civilian emergency response teams work in conjunction with local fire and police departments in disaster situations. There is a FAQ link on their site which will answer your questions.

Does this First Aid Training look worthwhile?
Farman replied to ZenDog's topic in Survival and Preparedness
Zen, Check out these two sites. Great info on Good Samaritan laws in general and tn Am. Red Cross first aid, automatic advisory defibrillator and CPR training will probably cover any situation we would come upon. As with anything the more training and practice the better. http://www.nashvillepad.org/documents/TN%20Good%20Samaritan%20law.doc http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_Samaritan_law -
Everything posted is right on. The only thing I can add is, discretion is the better part of valor. I try to be totally aware of everything going on around me, or what I may be walking into. I would hope I could back down, leave, not get out of my truck and get involved in a potential shooting situation. I would much rather use the cell phone, call LE, stay in the area to relay everthing I could to LE when they arrive. There are also a lot of buts and either/ors in life. We try to use common sense and good judgement throughout life and pray for the best.

http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13479 This is Novembers info. That's what I'll shoot. If there's a change, it's an excuse to go back to the range.

Their economy is also going to , so they will also be cutting back on the fire (dept.) brigade. And from what I have seen dentistry is also on the decline in the UK.

The wife and I both carry 380s. Placement is more important than size. WHAT!!!

Picked mine up at Benton Supply yesterday. It came with a comp, laser and scope rails. I added a hard case and 3 boxes of ammo for under $400.

Anyone have the 995. It kind of looks cool, like the ugly duckling. I like the fact that it's 9mm., common and reasonably priced ammo:). I hear of issues in the older productions, but I like the warranty. How are the newer ones or the one you have?

My Dad used to tell me “Confucius say, is better to be thought a fool then to open one’s mouth and have all doubt removed”, but I will continue on anyway. First… I thought it was common practice to have bright lights on the BG to blind him, to give the LEOs an advantage. (makes it difficult for the detainee to see uniforms) The uniforms should at least be ”Tacticool” with vests and plenty of PD markings. Second… When working undercover or on tactical details a marked unit is, or should be, readily available to respond, to identify personnel as real LEO units and not carjackers or home invaders. Unmarked, as opposed to undercover units should have identifying lighting, this, in addition to the arriving marked units. Third… Rugerman, did you do anything that may have brought attention to yourself? Roll through a stop sign, drive too fast or too slow? Take the scenic route, or just drive a blue compact foreign car? I’m done. I’m new here and maybe I don’t know any better. Please don’t take offense.
