  5. Thanks Glenn. Idid some more research and found a couple of good site for sks info. Too bad they didn't help me get the one I was bidding on. A 1953 tula that sounded to be in excellent condition. I had to go out and couldn't continue bidding. It went for $335. I'll find another.
  6. I'm considering buying an SKS and have two questions. 1. Is there one model (country) to stay away from. I'm leaning towards Yugo, They're sturdier(?), but no chrome barrel. Is chrome barrel better or neccessary? 2. As long as it stays original it does not have to meet 922r ????? OK, 3 questions.
  7. Check the prices for Pythons on http://www.gunbroker.com/ before you do anything. Things are crazy out there.

  11. Very good.
  12. What stuff do you guys carry and in what pockets? Since carrying, (concealed) I moved my wallet to the left front pocket and snot rag to right front and keys now hang at 9 0'clock. I don't have to sweep my cover to retrieve anything.
  13. The worst part is you keep the in the safe, just taking them out to fondle them occasionally. You'd like to hang them on the wall but you'd hate to have them walk away.
  14. This pretty much sounds like a good plan, unless the BG gets triggerhappy before you can back off.

    Beretta 92 question

I like the fact that my bda 380 is DA for the first shot. It's like an extra safety!!
  16. Schadenfreude, Nice nick...... At first I thought shadow friend. Then I remembered my HS German, friend is freund. So I looked Schadenfreude up. Apparently you enjoy the misfortunes of others. You you.

  19. "I have about a dozen patents for biometrics and worked in the field for a decade before I decided to get a real job. Biometrics work perfectly well for 80% of the population. Biometrics suck big time for the other 20%. Find out which percentage you're in before you invest in biometric anything. If you use it in a gun safe, enroll two fingers, one on each hand, avoid paper cuts, gardening, and hand lotion, and don't ever ever sweat." I found this post The Firing LIne forums. Hope it helps. Do your research!!!!
  20. The wife (Harley309) and I are home, had some snacks, some adult beverages, shot some pool and are going to try and stay up until the new year. We wish everyone at TGO a safe, healthy and happy new year. Our resolutions for the new year includes getting to the range more and to try to meet members of TGO.
  21. I think that old stuff is really interesting, although 1955 is not all that old ( I was 20). I tried to research getting a permit back then, but so far couldn't find anything other than the chief's name was Hubert O. Kemp. Born 1908, died 1992.
  22. Welcome. I'm a halfback. Born and raised in NY, 38 yrs. in S. Fl, almost 2 yrs here and lovin' it.
  23. :panic: Another Y2K. "Actually, I would be happy to see the USA split into six distinct nations, with the SOUTH rising again!" Charlie Daniels for President. Jack Daniels for VP.
  24. My main carry is a bda. It has the plastic grips. They are a little slick but not too bad. I have an iwb pouch which keeps the grip up against my side, can't see it even with just a tee shirt not tucked in. I was looking for another a while back and ended up with a Beretta cheetah. Hope to shoot it this week.
